Jun 3, 2015I wrote the below script to print all folders and files located in the share path. How to extend my script to mention by adding another column whether the file is a folder/file , sort of 0 or 1.

Shared Datasource In Different Folder...

Ive tried searching but nothing came up specific to my problem.
I currently have all the reports separated into separate folders, such as Finance, HR etc, and the datasources in a datasources folder at the root level. My problem is that when i upload reports into their appropriate folder, the shared datasource information gets deleted, and i need to re-map it everytime.
Is there anyway to have the specific reports point to specific shared datasource folders on the report server when i upload them?

Not All The Reports Are Delivered To The Shared Folder

Hi All,
I'm delivering some reports through data driven to a shared folder in another computer in my network. In report manager, under status, it shows the following message.
Processing: 10 processed of 12 total; 0 errors.
When I chek in the folder, I can see sometimes only 6 reports. I rescheduled and run it again. Then I could see only 10 out of 12 reports.
I opened the Management Studio and tried to refreshed the report subscription under subscription. Then I got the following error message.

I subsricbe few reports by data driven file shared method. Each reports is supposed to be delivered to 5 different customers. But each customer can see only his/her data. So I use a paramter to generate 5 different reports for each customer. But once the five different reports are saved in the shared file folder, is there any method to delete old files? These reports are to be executed once a week

I'm trying to silently(quiet mode) install Sql Server 2005 and our application.I created a custom wrapper and included all the files and folders extracted from SQLEXPR.exe.
So when I execute this customized setup its throwing an error : Could not register Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server/90/Shared/msxmlsql.dll
If I ignore the above error its throwing similar errors for almost all the files under Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server/90/Shared folder.
kindly help me to resolve the issue.

Problem With Creating Directory By SQL Server On A Remote Shared Folder

I now have 2 server, say serverA and serverB. ServerA has a SQL server and I am using a command in the SQL server to access the serverB. The command is:

where abc is a shared folder in serverB which can be accessed by serverA. However the output of this execution is "c:> mkdir "\serverBabckevin_wong123" Access is denied". It is possible to do this in command prompt. Does anyone know what's the problem of this?

Error In Accessing Shared Data Source

I created the shared data source and the report in VS 2005. After deploying the report to the Report server and trying to access it produces the following error.
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'kv_testQA'.
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
I checked to see if the Data source exists in the Report Server and it does. But it still produces the error. What is the issue here.

Without it, I got error Executed as user: NT ServiceSQLAgent$RETAIL_PRO.and this user does not exists on remote server. so got access denied. error.

Apr 24, 2008In the first step of my SSIS package I need to get files from FTP and dump it/them in a local directory, but it's more than that, the logic is like this:
1. If no file(s) found, stop executing and send email saying no file(s) found;
2. If file(s) found, then compare it/them with existing files in our archive folder; if file(s) already exist in archive folder, stop executing and send email saying file(s) already existed, if file(s) not in archive folder yet, then transfer it/them to the local directory for processing.
I know i have to use a script task to do this and i did some research and found examples for each of the above 2 steps and not both combined, so that's why I need some help here to get the logic incorporated right.

Database In Dropbox Sync Folder Accessing From Multiple Computers?
Nov 2, 2015I currently use Access and have found that I need to migrate to SQL Server. I need setting it up.
Currently, I have multiple computers (home, office, laptop, etc.). On each of these computers, I have a folder which syncs via Dropbox. In this folder, I have my Access database which allows me to read/write to the Access database from any computer, and these changes are automatically synced to all the other computers via Dropbox.
I have installed the SQL Server database in the Dropbox folder then installed Management Studio on each computer. But only the computer which did the database install can link to the the SQL Server database. The other Management Studios cannot see the database.
Is there a way to achieve what I am after or is this a limitation of SQL Server? I do not want to have to manage a network or anything.
Transferring Existing SSIS Packages Saved In A Shared Folder Location From Development Server To Live Server
Dec 20, 2007Please can anybody help me in transferring existing SSIS Packages saved in a shared folder location from development server 2ED to Live server TWD1.
Both has SQL server 2005 running and has visual studio 2005
Currently about 25 SSIS packages are executed from the development server transferring data on Live server TWD1...these ETL process is called from development server but executed on live server.
Now the problem is when i call these packages from the shared folder from live server it crashes.....i need to changes something to shift the whole package to the live server..and execute on live server itself instead of recreating the whole 25 process from scratch.....also i use optimize for many tables ..and run in a single trancastion....so how can i see the mappings of source and destination tables.
Please let me know the process how i can achieve this.

SSIS Shared Configuration Files -SP2 Problem

I have several packages that share one configuration file located at a network location. Up until i installed sp2 everything worked fine, but now the packages "loose" the path to the configurationfile. It is replaced by some c:programsqlserverpackage.... path where no config file is located.
I can run packages if i specify the config file explicetly, but I really don't wanna do that, since it will not work in the context i'm working.
I am using the wizard to install my packages.
Anyone with similar problems ? Any help appriciated.
Note: This is not the issue that sp1 solved (for me at least). =)

It doesn't look like there is, but hoping there is some trick. I see how it can be done with a Windows Cluster but not a SQL Cluster.

I've tried the above and the syntax is not supported.

I'm just starting with SQL and BIDS. I have created a xml-Import to SQL Server which works without any problem.
Now I like to import (daily) all xml-files of an appropriate Folder at once to the DB. The files will have different names each day.
I could not find any help in the internet to solve this problem.
Can someone give me an Idea how to import many xml-files out of the same folder to SQL?

SSIS Processes All Files In A FTP Folder

How do you process all files in an FTP directory - similar to the for each loop for files.
I need to be able to download each file and then move it to an archive folder on the ftp site.
Might also want to do some things in between.
I have a feeling it means getting the directory listing into a recordset or variable then enumerating that.
Sounds like a common requirement and would be quite easy by other means. Can't help feeling that SSIS has built in tasks to do it.
Why Have SQLCE... Files Under Temp Folder
Mar 14, 2007I am developing application with SQLCE2.0, NETCF1.0,Sp1,VS2003.
I found there is some files are created under "Temp" folder by the system with size "0B".
Why/when these file are created? Do I need to clean it periodicly? If not, will this cause exception like "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation"?

Files Inside RSTempFiles Folder

Hello;
I started to get out of space on the server C: drive.
I checked and I was using file system storage on the C drive in:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.xReporting ServicessRSTempFiles
I checked the folder and it is 1 GB.
My questions or doubts;
1) I read that the path can be changed without any problem, in the same server we have a D drive with 40GB of space, so I am planning to change the path to: D:RSTempFiles. Any experience on changing that path?
2) If the change of path is successfull, how I can delete the files on the RSTempFiles on the C: drive. Can I directly delete the files? Ther just previous snapshots or I will lose something? Any experience with this will be great.

SSAS 64 Bit Not In Progam Files (x86) Folder
Jan 9, 2008I have installed SSAS on a 64 bit machine and am trying to connect to Oracle but having little success.
Some of the solutions I've read indicate to uninstall SSAS and then reinstall, making sure that the reinstall does not use the Program Files (x86) folder since Oracle has a problem with the parentheses.
Here's my question... How do you NOT install in the Program Files (x86) folder. It seems SQL Server always wants to put a small part in there.

I have a challenge i am trying to overcome, hopefully soneone would have come across this issue before..
I am creating a DTS package that will be scheduled to run at a certain time everyday. A source folder exists that get a set of new files everyday.The DTS Package will then read each file and copy the data into a load table in my database the challenge is this:
I am trying to load files from a source folder into my load table, Within each file, the entires are in a specific format using pipes to seperate the data that goes into which column e.g
example of a file entry:
column1 | column2 | column3
data1 | data2 | data3
data1 | data2 | data3
data1 | data2 | data3
And now i am using DTS to specify the file format and map the cloumns as apprporiate to my table...all this is well and good, but my problem is each file has a different name as well as being timestamped, now how do i use DTS to specify the source folder, open each file sequentially and read (or more appropriate, copy the entries into my table, inserting new data from each file into my load table as well as overwriting old data in the load table from the files in the folder ?) is there a way in specifying your source folder in DTS rather than specifying the file in the Menu options (in the transformation data task properties )given, and or do i need to write a script for this(reading the file?)
can someone please give me a solution and how to approach this?
