Hi, can anyone help?
I have created a Report using Visual studio-the report displays a subreport within it.
On the Subjective Report I have 12 values for each month of the year.
For the first month the value is =sum(Fields! Month_1.Value), and I
have named this text box €™SubRepM1€™
The name of the subreport is €˜subreport1'.
On my Main Report, again I have 12 values for each month of the year.
For the first month the value is =sum(Fields! Month_1.Value)*-1, and I
have named this text box 'MainRepM1'
The name of the main report is 'GMSHA Budget Adjustment Differentials'
The report displays both of the subreport and main report values
but I now need to total these values together for each month in order to
produce a grand total.
I have tried using the following to add the totals for Month 1 together,
=subreport1.Report.SubRepM1 + MainRepM1
but this does not work and I get the following error message €˜The value expression for the text box 'textbox18'contains an error [BC30451] Name subreport1 is not declared'.
I feel that it should be a simple matter of adding the two sets of values together but I€™m having major problems trying to get these totals to work.

I am designing a report in SQL Server 2005 Report Designer that uses a Matrix table. The matrix table is grouped by month. How can I add a Year-To-Date total column on the report? This is driving me nuts...I cannot figure this out.

Hi There i have a Report That Display's data in following format
Areas
Code | Descirption | Emirates | GCC | ASIAN | OTHER ARABS | so on..
1 What ever 3 0 2 1
2 ABC 0 0 1 0

Total 3 0 3 1
The Areas are Matric Columns and are dynamically generated .
i dont want sub total of each row , but i want Grand total at the end of the all columns generated by matrix
I have no clue how do to it

Hi All,
I am having some trouble getting a Grand Total column at the end of my matrix report (not row at the bottom), such as you get by default in an Excel pivot table.
I have managed so far to add another column that sums up all values across the data range for a particular product code. My intention was to hide all but the last (I did something similar on rows). However you cannot use an expression on the width property for columns, so this will not work.
My report is very standard:
Year
Month (grouped by year)
Product code | Description [qty]
I want a column that displays the total qty across all dates for each row. Surely this is possible?
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi all,
When i creat a report model with report builder, i don't know how to hide aggregate cells.
Here is a picture about my problem :
Cells aggregate (in green) are the total of my sales amount, but i dont want it, i just want the non aggregate value (cells in white)

Hi,
I would like to get some advises on how creating some kind of reports with Report builder
Lets say i have these two tables with these columns
Table Product
ProductName
Table ProductInstance
Product ID
CreationDate
CompletedDate
I would like to be able to create with report builder a report that looks this
Start Date : 2008/10/01 - End Date : 2008/10/30
Total Total Total
In Out OutStanding
ProductName1 10 0 3
ProductName2 5 5 2
ProductName3 8 8 5
ProductName4 12 5 6
Total In : total number of product created between StartDate and EndDate
Total Out : Total number of product completed between Start Date and End Date
Total OutStanding : Total number of product that have not yet been completed.
Any suggestion and advise on how to achieve this ?

I have the following record set; for each group where the code of OP=MTL summarize Cost; that is group 10-10= 300, group 20-20=300, group 30-30=600. Then I need to total groups 10-10 and 30-30.
I used ReportItems fields for each break as;
=SUM(IIF(Fields!OprSeq.Value=10 and Fields!RelatedOperation.Value = 10, Fields!Cost.Value,0), "Related Operation") etc,
But obviously when the result is false the ReportItem returns zero, and now I lost the value calculated previously.Â

I need to show the Cumulative calculated value only in Total by year/Group. I could not use Visibility expression using
InScope, as it creates *Blank column. Please go thru details below.

Hi,
I have requirement to display Total number of Rows in a Report in Page Header.
I have written the following code in Page header it shows RowCount for the Page only.
=Count(ReportItems!textboxInTableCell.Value)

Hi,
If I am taking a Matrix and right clicking on the column header and click on the SubTotal then it always place that column on the right of it .If I want to place that column to the left of my original column then I can't do it.
Adding manual column and then puuting the Expresstion =Sum(Fields!MyCol.Value) is not halping as it will give me the same value that is there in the column instead of giving me the column

I have a dataset with weekly salary of multiple employees of same grade from different dpt. We are not going to show the report based on employ. The report will be showing data based on Employee grade and their department.
Grade        Dpt       wk1         wk2         wk3       wk4
manager    hr         3000         2500        1000      2000
senior         hr          1300         1500        1300      1600
manager    hr          2500         2300        2100       3000
We need to show the result by grouping grade and dpt. So the Wk1 rate will be the sum of (3000+2500).

manager   hr           5500        4800        3100       5000      18400 (how to find???)
senior       hr           1300         1500        1300      1600      5700(??)

is it possible to separate Grand Total of a sub group to a new page?
I tried using advanced mode, find the first line the Grand Total section and set its "RepeatOnNewPage" to true, but, when I execute the report, it will throw an error something like the value of RepeatOnNewPage of the TablixMemeber must be the same as its previous object.
I need my report pages to separate by subGroup(SubGroupA, SubGroupB, A+BTotal).

For some reason my Add Total is grey out, when i tried to add grand total using some expression.

I have a table that writes daily sales each night but it adds the day's sales to the cumulative total for the month. I need to pull the difference of todays cumulative total less yesterdays. So when my total for today is 30,000 and yesterday's is 28,800, my sales for today would be 1,200. I want to write this to a new field but I just can't seen to get the net sales for the day. Here is some sample data. For daily sales for 6-24 I want to see 2,000, for 6-25 3,000, 6-26 3,500, and 6-27 3,500. I'm thinking a case when but can't seem to get it right.

I'm trying to create a report which will give me a break down of how many unique vehicles have been seen between two dates via a 15 minute interval and what Lane they were seen. My current script looks like this
SELECT l.Name [Name], count(l.Name) Total, p.Created
FROM PlateReads p
inner join Lanes l on p.Lane_ID = l.ID
where LicencePlate in (Select Plate from LPRnet_MelAir_C.dbo.TempVehiclePlates)
group by Name
Name being the Lane they were in and the Total being the amount of times a unique vehicle has been seen and p.Created being the date they were seen (thats what I need the interval powered off)
Ideally the output would look like this

Hi,
I am trying to create a report on some data. I have about 8 tables and 30+ queries attached to those 15 reports. In one of those reports I want to get the percentage based on the data in the tables and queries. Say I have the minimum hours for an employee as 176 hours and the employee works for 227 hours in a month. I want to see the result in percentage.
My report looks something like this :
ID Name Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb March Total
001 alex 87.6% 104.1% 65.1% 50.2% 85.6%
002 Linda 87.4% 109.1% 68.1% 35.2% 90.8%
003 Jon 87.6% 104.1%
004 alex 87.6% 104.1% 65.1% 50.2% 85.6%
005 Linda 87.4% 109.1% 68.1% 35.2% 90.8%
For the 002 ID, though he has worked for Nov and Dec the total % is blank.
The formula that I used for all of these entries is :
=IIf(IsError([total]),"",[total])
and for the month it is : =IIf(IsError([Oct]),"",[oct]), nov and so on.
It works fine for all, but where ever there is blank in one field it doesn;t calculates for the others too..
Please help, how can I get the total for all.

I got this error message when I try to connect to database hosted in another PC running SQL server 2000.
Is it true that SQlL server Express can only use Local Database Engine to host the database?

After I use the report builder to create a generic report, how do I actually get that report into the report designer so that I can modify it more effectivly?
The issue that I have now is that the file on the report server is not a .rdl file and if I simply save it as one and then bring it into VS to modify it the code file is a html structure rater than a XML file type.

I have built a query in Access that calculates the total to be charged to clients based on 3 cost columns.
I have tried to run the query in MSSQL but it will not run, so could someone help me out with the syntax in my query.
I have done about half of it myself but I am stuck on the calculation and I havent a clue of the syntax to be used.
This is my Access Query;

I have the following query which gives me a list of names, logins, and group name along with a count of how many training modules each individual has sat. This returns 70 rows with each individuals details and totals.
However I want to be able to report instead just the total modules sat for all 70 rows instead of displaying each row individually. This is the query I am using:
