I am mapping an entity from SQL 2005 to another entity in another system on SQL 2000. Since the destination system has its own ID generator, I want to keep the generated ID for each row of my table in a column of my table in SQL 2005. The new column is in the dataset now , but I don't know how to update my table to have that column values (The OleDbDestination just insert new items.)
Hello, I have created SSIS package programmatically, I want to add Lookup transformation, How can I add column from reference dataset to the transformation? I have try to add new output column but it gives me an validation error, I write following coed to add new output column to lookup. We just changed over our phone system and the new system uses all of the old extensions except it adds a 1 to the beginning of them. I know that there is a relatively simple way to update my phone extension column to show this, but I can't for the life of me remember what I need to do. Any help?
For a datagrid dataset, I'm trying to take the amount of all the sales by a salesperson in two days and create an alias for sum(saleamount) (which would become allsales) to put the grand total in. select thedate, sum(saleamount) as allsales , salesperson, orderID from transactions WHERE (thedate IN ('6/1/2005', '6/2/2005')) GROUP BY Salesperson HAVING SUM(allsales > 0) I'm getting "invalid syntax near SUM (on the Having clause)" when trying to run this query. And I know there is data in there meeting this criteria.Thanks chumley
I have come up with one scenarios where I have three table like Product, Services and Subscription. I have to create one table say Bundle where I can have some of the product id , service id and Subscription id , i.e. a bundle may contains sum prduct , services and subscription . How I can design these relations ?

All of the tables have the same header row, but are a seperate table. From my experience, I am not able to bind more than one table to a datagrid. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about displaying this full dataset on my aspx page? I've been going in circles on this for two days, so I'm open to any suggestions :)
I’m trying to figure out a way to sum columns for similar IDs, based on the contents of a single field. For example, if I’m calculating attendance percentages for students, and codes P and T count as Present, and codes A and E count as Absent, I would want to total Present and Absent codes separately, in their own columns. I would then like to use those totals to calculate percentage, but I can do that. It’s the SUM based on column value (by ID) that is giving issue.
I’ve been playing around with nested queries, but nothing’s working. This is a glimpse of the mess that I’ve created trying to sort this out. Many errors.
I just noticed that I used a simpler example than the SQL I included, so I modified it a bit. There are additional fields that I'll need to include, but I want to get the logic working correctly. where CombinedValues column contains values of coulmn 1,2 & 3 seperated by '-' So is there any way to achieve this?
I have a description field in a table which also stores unit of measure in the same column but with some space between them, I need to split these into two different columns.
I have embedded a subreport in the detail section of my report. When I view the subreport in page preview mode it renders with three columns, but when it is rendered w/in the main report in page preview mode the 3 column layout is rendered as a single verticle column.
I've defined the columns in the Body/Columns. I have also set the report inteactivesize and pagesize heights in an attempt to remedy the issue. Margins are set to 0.
I'm working on a script to merge multiple columns(30) into a single column separated by a semicolons, but I'm getting the following error below. I tried to convert to the correct value. but I'm still getting an error.

Is there any way or option to get the all columns of dataset added to table when we add a table in data region. It will take lot of time to add one by one and also there are chances to add one column ore than once.
I have created a single FULLTEXT on col2 & col3. suppose i want to search col2='engine' and col3='toyota' i write query as

Every thing works well if database is small. But now i have 20 million records in my database. Taking an exmaple there are 5million record with col2='engine' and only 1 record with col3='toyota', it take substantial time to find 1 record.
I was thinking this i can address this issue if i merge both columns in a Single column, but i cannot figure out what format i save it in single column that i can use query to extract correct information. for e.g.; i was thinking to concatinate both fields like col4= ABengineBA + ABBToyotaBBA and in search i use SELECT

Hi,I have a DataGrid whose DataSource is an SQLDataSource. This SQLDataSource references a SQL Server table with an Identity column, named Id. The SQLDataSource has generated an Update statement for me, but this only works if the Id column is selected for display in the DataGrid, and has Visible = True. If not, then the @original_Id parameter to the generated Update statement has a value of Nothing, and the Update has no effect. So is there a way to enable the Update statement to work, without the user having to see the Id column in the DataGrid? Many thanks,Keith.

I created a report using RS with a SQL stored procedure (with date range parameters and a cursor to build the data) as the data source. When I execute the proc in SQL it returns over 300 records. When i go the the data tab on my report view the data, the proc and the preview only returns the first row. What am i doing wrong? I am new to RS.
I have a parameterized report based on a MDX query (so no drag and drop of filters and fields). Now i have to ad a parameter. So i open the query parameter dialog box and i ad my parameter. when i click ok , my dataset becomes empty , resulting in an error on my report saying that the fields on the report cannot by found and should be in the scope of the dataset.
Has anyone experienced this problem before, or am i forgetting something here?
