Asp HTTP 500 Error
May 27, 2007
Hello there,
I have created a login page for users. The login page contain <FORM action="verifyuser.asp" method="post">. The verifyuser page verify that the user exist in the database. All the pages, home, login, memberspage, updatemember, seems to be working properly except for the verifyuser page. This is the code for the page:
<%
Dim objConn, oRSu
Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
objConn.Open "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=False;"& _
"User ID=sa;Password=test12345; Initial Catalog=members;Data Source= Kai-PC;"
dim varUsername, varPassword
varUsername = Request.Form("Username")
varPassword = Request.Form("Password")
set oRSU=server.CreateObject("adodb.recordset")
SQL = "Select * from Users where Username = '" & varUsername & "' AND
Password = '"& varPassword &"'"
oRSu.open SQL, objConn
If oRSu.EOF Then
response.redirect "Login.asp"
end if
Session("Username") = oRSu("Username")
Session("password") = oRSu("password")
Response.redirect "memberspage.asp"
oRSu.Close
set oRSu=nothing
%>
---------------------------------------------
Whenever I try to login a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error appears... I have no idea whether that caused by the codes or because I'm using Vista? Thanks

what is it supposed to mean when the sync fails and just says "a security error occurred". i verified i can view the .dll from Internet Explorer and view the share from the workstation. i gave up on the normal replication because it kept saying access was denied when it tried to download any of the files in the share... i granted access to 'everyone' for all the files and folders in that share but that didn't help.

Hi, can anyone help with this pls - it's getting very fustrating! there seems to be some messages and text on this issue (looks like a common problem that MS haven't published anything about yet!) but nothing I could make heads or tails off... so any help here would be very useful!
I'm using VS2005 (release, NOT beta), the new reportviewer web control and an ASP.NET page - really basic, nothing fancy. I've set the reportviewer properties to:
ReportServerURL= http://mytestserver/reportserver
ReportPath = /AdventureWorks Sample Reports/Company Sales
I'm testing the ASP.NET page is on my local machine - and the reportviewer is connecting to a remote test server (W2k3 SP1). When I view the page, then I get
HTTP ERROR 401 Unauthorized
Directory Security on the report server is Windows Authentication - W2K3 with SP1 and Reporting Services 2005 (release, NOT beta)
Directory Security on my local machine is Windows Authentication - XP SP2 and VS2005 (release, NOT beta)
Any ideas pls?

Like many others, I am have trouble getting this to work, and none of the solutions I have found on the inter-tubes seems to work for me:
"An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized."
The Setup:
MOSS/SSRS (Integration Mode) running on a server farm on a single server: myserver.mydomain.org
Service Account for all Services: mydomainmyaccount (trusted for delegation, member of IIS_WPG)
myserver trusted for delegation
SSAS running under Local System on ssas.mydomain.org.
SETSPN -L mydomainmyaccount results:
HTTP/myserver.mydomain.org
HTTP/myserver
MOSS Authentication Settings
Authentication Type = Windows
Default Authentication Provider = Negotiate (Kerberos)
Anonymous access not enabled
IIS Settings
SSRS on Default Web Site: Port 8080
Application Pool Identity mydomainmyaccount
NTAuthenticationProviders="Negotiate,NTLM"
Security: Windows Authentication
MOSS on Sharepoint-80 Site: Port 80
Application Pool Identity mydomainmyaccount
NTAuthenticationProviders="Negotiate,NTLM"
Security: Basic Authentication except _vti_bin/ReportServer is Windows Authentication
The idea is to use kerberos to pass credentials from SSRS reports running on myserver.mydomain.org to SSAS on ssas.mydomain.org.

This didn't use to happen but now it does.
When I go into Report Manager, http://localhost/reports, and try running a report it is giving me this error message:
The request failed with HTTP status 401: Access Denied
But if I go directly to the Report Server, http://localhost/reportserver, and try running a report there then everything is fine.
Does anyone know why it is doing this all of a sudden? I did change the Reports app in ISS to allow anonymous access but have since changed it back, and it still gives this error.

Now I need to synchonize the data in Pocket PC to the remote sql server database.
I have configured the publication and the virtual directory in the server. When the Pocket PC directly connects to the server (that to say, the Pocket PC connects to the server through the ActiveSync), the data can be synchronized successfully. But when the Pockec PC connects to another computer () through the ActiveSync (this computer connects to the server through the network), the data cannot be synchronized. But when I run the application in the emulator in the same computer, the data can be synchonized with the server.

Hi
I have set my SQL server express server and have installed SSRS (reporting services) and Business Intelligence Studio.
When i create a new report and delpoy that report, it successfully deploys it.
when I go to the below URL's from the laptop browser, I am successfully able to see my reports
http://lemd342608/Reports$SQLExpress/Pages/Folder.aspx - Report manager
http://localhost/reportServer$SQLExpress - report server
Now when I go to a external machine besides my laptop, and type in the 'URL's I am getting 'Page cannont be displayed error'.
DO I need to configure anything in order to allow other users to access my SSRS. I have added the users in the Reporting manager also.
Thanks

I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS 6.0 and SQL Server 2005. I have just (Today) deployed the first ASP.NET application (developed in Visual Studio 2003 and, as such, dependent on .NET Framework 1.1) on this server and am getting HTTP Error 403 (You are not authorized to view this page). This ASP.NET application runs fine on another server that is configured with the OS=Windows Server 2003, IIS=6.0 but without SQL Server 2005 and without the .NET Framework version 2.0. I found in the IIS Application configuration (on the troublesome site) that my app (in the Default Web Site folder) was pointing to the version 2.0 aspnet_isapi.dll. All efforts to use aspnet_regiis to "re-align" my app with version 1.1 have been fruitless to eliminate the HTTP Error 403. I granted the NETWORK SERVICE account privledges to the wwwroot folder. At this point, I don't know if I have a Framework error or a privileges problem.
Please help.
Thanks,
Rob

We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.

Hi -
I got through the installation hoops for SQLEXPRESS Reporting Services in Vista and set up the default configurations in Report Services Configuration. I can explore the default directory for "Reports" in IIS7, but I can't browse in IE. I get the "The report server is not responding. verify that the report server..." message in the browser. This is after I migrated the app per the initial http 500 error using the preferred method - %systemroot%system32inetservAPPCMD.exe migrate config "Default Web Site/Reports".
I'm running Vista Ultimate, VS2005, SQLEXPRESS SP2. I've tried running IE as admin and also I've disabled UAC from gpedit.msc - ...Windows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PolicySecurity Options and unchecking UAC.
Thanks,
Mike

Are HTTP Endpoints able to be reached by another application that does not run on the same network?
For example, we have a partner that has a Web Application that would like to retrieve data from our database. We would like them to call a SOAP method through the Endpoint and in essence let their Web Application consume the Web Service. Is this possible?

hi
i created endpoints and able to view wsdl
http://<servername>/hello_world
it's a stored procedure created in master database.
when i just try to view the output from this like
http:///<servername>/hello_world
it's giving me an error http501/http505 error.
i read in other article like, when soap is not able to process message , it'll be giving out as http errors.
my endpoint creation is as follows:
CREATE ENDPOINT hello_endpoint
STATE = STARTED
AS HTTP(
PATH = '/hello_world',
AUTHENTICATION = (INTEGRATED ),
PORTS = ( CLEAR ),
SITE = 'testserver'
)
FOR SOAP (
WEBMETHOD 'GetSqlInfo' (name='master.dbo.hello_world', SCHEMA=STANDARD ),
WSDL = DEFAULT,
BATCHES = ENABLED,
DATABASE = 'master',
NAMESPACE = 'http://testserver/hello_world'
);
GO
i already created a stored procedure hello world:
USE [master]
GO
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[hello_world]
(@msg nvarchar(256)= "Hello Sql Server")
AS BEGIN
select @msg as 'message'
END
.I am not able to find any solution for this.Any help would be a great help for me.
i joined a new project , and this is the first task for me.
thanks for all
