Hi 2 all,

I have got this matrix and I am trying to calculate the average amount of working days in a month. At the moment, I have divided the total number of jobs by 21 for every month which is a hard coded value. However, I am not sure how to retrieve this value dynamically. Is there any formula that can find out the working days?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an SQL code below which removes weekends and non working days when calculating days difference between two dates:
ce.enquiry_time represents when the enquiry was logged
(DATEDIFF(dd, ce.enquiry_time, getdate()) + 1)
-(DATEDIFF(wk, ce.enquiry_time, getdate()) * 2)
-(CASE WHEN DATENAME(dw, ce.enquiry_time) = 'Sunday' THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
-(CASE WHEN DATENAME(dw, getdate()) = 'Saturday' THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
-(SELECT COUNT(*) FROM nonworking_day WHERE nonworking_day.nonworking_date >= ce.enquiry_time AND nonworking_day.nonworking_date < dateadd(dd,datediff(dd,0,getdate()),1))
It works but I don't understand how it works it out. I am having issues understanding each coloured piece of code and how it works together.
How can I calculate the no. of days in a month.I know it is a simple question but I am not able to find any code to calculate that.
Can someone help me?
I am trying to use the DateDiff function to calculate the difference between two dates in working days only... Is this possible in SSRS 2005, or can anyone suggest an alternate solution?

I have a query that counts the number of pay checks received in a month, but I need to compare that to the number of actual paydays in a month. If we were on a set pay schedule (i.e. the 15th of each month) it would be easy. Unfortunately that's not the case. We are paid biweekly on Fridays and our last pay day was April 4th.
So I need to know how many pay periods were in a specified month. For example, April would have 2 (April 4th and 18th), May would have 3 (May 2nd, 16th, and 30th), etc.
As always, your help is very much appreciated!
I am trying to determine the amount of days in a month to prorate a month end estimate.
We measure service calls and need to approximate how many we will have at month end.
I would like to automate a query to post on our web and need to know how many days are in the current month.
A possible solution would be to piece together a datetime variable using getdate and dateadd then use a datepart.
However , I don't know how to create a datetime variable this way.
Thanks in advance
I have a column which stores a set of dates. I want to tell how many days left of a date till it’s month end. It should be noted that month ends are taken from the date series, not a calendar month end.

Hi,
I need to calculate the number of working days from a date backwards. For example 2 working days before Thursday would be the Tuesday (as a basic example)
I use the following code and a Calendar table to calculate the working days from a date but can anyone help with reworking this query to do the reverse
declare @WorkingDate as datetime
SELECT @WorkingDate=dt
FROM tblCalendar AS c
WHERE (@WorkingDays =
(SELECT COUNT(*) AS Expr1
FROM tblCalendar AS c2
WHERE (dt >= @StartDate) AND (dt <= c.dt) AND (IsWeekday = 1) AND (IsHoliday = 0))) AND (IsWeekday = 1)
AND (IsHoliday = 0)
-- Return the result of the function
RETURN convert(varchar(12),@WorkingDate,106)
Hope someone can help
Thanks
I have table with three columns: 1) TodaysDate,
2)
DueBackDate,
3) DaysOverdue
The problem I am having is creating a formula in MS SQL, so that when
the 'DueBackDate' column is more than todays date, I want the
'DaysOverdue' column to be incremented accordingly.
I have tried creating an SQL Query something like this:
UPDATE rental
SET DaysOverdue = DaysOverdue + 1
WHERE ({ fn NOW() } > DueBackDate)
But the problem with this that it only increments the 'DaysOverdue'
field by 1. When I want it to basically subtract todays date by
'DueBackDate'.
I have tried to also create a formula within MS SQL but I come up with
errors. I have done something like this in Access which worked. The
Formula looked like this:
IIF(Now()>[DueBackDate],int(Now()-[DueBackDate]),0)
Is there a way to convert this formula so that is would work in MS SQL?
Thanks.
Aim – Calculate the number of days between CreatedDate and [Date_Docs_In_Complete__c],count how many Ids, Fall within a specific month by year, and then work out the avg number of days it took for each month
My query so far
select

left([Date_Docs_In_Complete__c],10) as [Date_Docs_In_Complete__c],
DATEDIFF(day,CreatedDate,[Date_Docs_In_Complete__c]) as Days

I keep getting the following message:
The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation.
No matter what filter I use to process non-blank dates, it never works.
I need the SQL to calculate the duration between a day and time, no specific date.
For example:
Sun 00:00 > Mon 08:00 = 5.67 days
So there is no date, it's just the general duration (in days), from a specific day and time to a specific day and time.

Hi frnds,
How to find the no. of working days for any month?
Input : YearMonth - 200702
Output : 20
Thanks in Advance
I wish to schedule a DTS package so that it runs on the penultimate day of each month. Is there an advanced option which allows you to choose a different date for each month? If not, is there a way this can be done programatically/
Thanks

What query should i use to generate a data of all days on last month, for example, if today is june so last month would be may.

C2-date
C3-grossamount(postivie and negative decimal values)
C4-netamount
Table2
C1-groupid
C2-accountid
Table 3

I need create a store procedure to retrieve the following on a single table
1. top 10 losers of the day i.e. 10 AccountIDs with the greatest negative Grossamount for the day
NOTE:These 10 AccountIDs may be sam or differing each day
2.sum of Netamount for each AccountIDs listed in STEP 1 since the beginning of the month.
NOTE:These 10 AccountIDs may be same or differing each day and each day sum of netamount should be from beginning of the month till current date.
3.Sum of Netamount for the last 5 days for each accountids in STEP1
The result set must contain the columns as below
C1-accountid
C2-date
C3-net loss for 10 losers on the current date since the beginning of the month
C4-Sum of Net for last 5 days
C5-groupname
Please help me.
Below is the script that i have written, without calculating the sum
(

with datediff all I can get it to return is months or a total of thedays...so if the difference in dates is 12 months 4 days how do I adjust theSQL to accommodate both?

How to get all the days of a month using select statement in sql server 2000
please help
thanks
I need developing a query to get the average count by the following:
Day - use daily info for the last ??? days
Weekly - average
- Add all days and divide by 7
- As of Saturday midnight
Monthly - average
- Add all days and divide by days in the month
- As of last save on last day of month
Quarter - average
- Add all days and divide by number of days in the quarter
- As of last day of quarter
Year - average
I don't have requirements for year as of yet.
How can I get the avery count per these timeframes?
I have created a spreadsheet using powerquery and powerpivot. Loading the data on powerquery from different spreadsheets was a charm, the problem is calculating the exchange rates per month. The structure is as following:I have 3 tables, they are:
Dates– Just a dates (loaded directly on PowerPivot).
Invoice – Details of invoices for all customers, gross totals are in different rates (loaded through power query)
Customer – Detailed information of customers (loaded directly on PowerPivot).
Currency – exchange rates (loaded directly on PowerPivot).
Note: I mentioned where they were loaded because I do not know if that really matters, I guess it does not... but extra information will not hurt. Now, let's go to how these tables are connected between each other and their key columns. The Invoice table has information on invoices dates, invoice gross total and customer code. This table is related to Customer table, which has the actual name of customers and other details. This link is done through the Customer Code column. The Currency table have a relationship with the Customer Table through the Country Column.
What I want to achieve is a formula to do the exchange rate based on the Invoice Date column present on the Invoice Table. So I have created a column on the Currency Table named at each month of the year and populated it with the exchange rates for all countries (countries listed using ISO3 format). My problem is while I am able to select a column from the Currency table to do the exchange rate calculation using the below formula, I fail to realize how to do it per month:=CALCULATE(sum(invoice[Gross Value])*SUM(Currency[Reverse]))*Reverse is the column with the exchange rate for the country money to USD.What I am failing to do is how to make that calculation to also consider the month of the invoice and pull the exchange rate for the same month from the Currency table
Get the invoice date then find the column on Currency[Month] and multiply, providing me the USD amount.I was unable to figure out a solution using the filters parameters from Calculate. If some of you ask why I am using SUM inside Calculate, is because if I only use SUM and try to do the math between the two tables I get an error saying that it was not possible to determine the value on Currency[Reverse]. Same happens with SUMX. It worked out with Calculate, but then I cannot create other formulas using CALCULATE on that table because it will give that error on redundancy, unless I add a filter on it, which worked last time (but I do not remember which thing /parameter used to filter, so do not ask it right now.I do not really need that level of accuracy, but my Virgo perfectionist side demands me to find a solution to that, that will not use a single exchange rate, but consider which is the correct exchange rate for the month of the invoice and calculate it correctly for all invoices. Just so you know, the Invoices tables has more than 1million lines.
I have 3 month of record in my table. if i pass 2 and 10, i need to select the record of between 2 and 10 days of record of every month. if i pass 10 and 20, it should select the record between 10 and 20 of every month. How to query for that?
