Can One Text Box's Contents Show Partially In One Font And Partially In Another?
Dec 20, 2007would I have to use an image (or two textboxes) in RS if my intention is to mix two different fonts at the same time in the same textbox?

Got It To Work....well Partially
Aug 3, 2007Hello everyone, I had a previous issue with if...then....etc statement, but I got it to work, so thats a good thing. The only problem is that it works only when i have a single line displaying, if its more than 1, it dont work any ideas why????
My report is table, broken into 2 groups, one by department, then by last name. My thought is the Sum(Fields!AMT_EARNED.Value) still giving me issues.....but I dont know....

OleDB Oracle Connection Error - PARTIALLY ANSWERED !!

Hi All:
I have a SSIS which have a main connection to a SQL Server 2005 DB, and also another connection to a Oracle database, and fetch data from the Oracle db.
I have the 2 connection managers, and everything runs fine when I test it in dev studio.
However, once I imported it to the DB, and run it on command line, I get the "Class not registered" error.

I DID TRIED MY BEST to search before posting, and most of them are having problem with 32 bit and 64 bit executions.
However, in my case, both are 32 bit (as shown in the log file).
In the above test, I'm setting DoNotSaveSensitiveData, and then fetch it with package configuration.
To make sure the package configuration is not creating pblm for me, I also tried to hardcode everything in the package, and then encrypt the whole ssis with password, and run the package with the /DECRYPT option, so that everything is already intact.
But I still get the same error. Log file as follows.

SQL 2012 :: Partially Contained Database And Temp Table Creation

Is it possible to either define a set of files dedicated to temp objects or define a second partially contained database dedicated to temp objects like tempdb?

The other strange thing is the toolbox will not reset to the original version meaning it will not remove the custom components. The funny thing is after I compile the custom components and restart VS the custom component runs with the new code changes. I can see the new features I added, but the debugger and toolbox still seem to be broken.
I have tried the following
1) Reset the tool box.
2) uninstall all my custom dll from the GAC €śC:WINDOWSassembly€?
3) remove all my custom dll from €śC:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSPipelineComponents€?
4) restart VS 2005
5) reselect the custom components.
6) reboot my computer.
It seem like VS has another cache. For the tool box or something.
Does anybody have any suggestion?

The data is non-normalized, i.e. there are four groups of fields for for "people", followed by data that applies to all people in the row (a "household").For ad-hoc queries, and because I wanted to index columns within each person (person 1's age, person 2's age, etc.), I used UNION:

I could get at least the P1... P2... P3... columns with PIVOT, but then I believe I'd have to JOIN back to the row anyway for the "household" columns. Performance of UNION good, but another person here chose to use PIVOT instead.I can' find any articles on PIVOT vs. UNION for "de-flattening".

Currently it seems I need to set fonts on every textbox.

For some reason I can't use the edit, update or insert features on my remote shared server, so I am looking to create a web page that has text boxes on it, that I can enter data into, that will be saved into my database.
This is opposed to entering the data directly into the database itself. I want to be able to use a webpage, for simply adding new data, and saving it so that the new data updates and saves over the top of the old data.
What are the steps involved in doing this?
Any example code for just one text box would be appreciated, I could then extend it to suit my needs. Tia.

Jun 25, 2007Hi All,I have come up against a wall which i cannot get over.I have an sql db where the date column is set as a varchar (i know, should have used datetime but this was done before my time and i've got to work with what is there). The majority of values are in the format dd/mm/yyyy. However, some values contain the word 'various'.I'm attempting to compare the date chosen on a c# .net page with the values in the db and also return all the 'various' values as well.I have accomplished casting the varchar to a datetime and then comparing to the selected date on the .net page. However, it errors when it comes across the 'various' entrant.Is there anyway to carry out a select statement comparing the start_date values in the db to the selected date on the .net page and also pull out all 'various' entrants at the same time without it erroring? i thought about replacing the 'various' to a date like '01/01/2010' so it doesn't stumble over the none recognised format, but am unsure of how to do it.This is how far i have got: casting the varchar column to datetime and comparing. Mar 21, 2006I have a question that has a co-worker and myself confused. We are using the SQL Server Enterprise Manager. When I select return all rows in my tables, any content that is too long will appear as <Long Text> on my co-workers machine, but the column is blank on my machine. Is there a property or configuration that enables/disables <Long Text>? I am confused as to why it appears on other machines, but not mine.

Show Date Parameter In A Text Box
Aug 29, 2007I have a report that pulls data for the following date parameters:
DECLARE @STARTDATE datetime, @ENDDATE datetime
SET @STARTDATE = GETDATE()-3

Select * from tablename where reportdate between @STARTDATE and @ENDDATE
This query works fine. I wanted to show the parameters chosen in a text box in the report so the user knows the date range the report was run. I tried using the following:
"Discharge Date between " & Parameters!STARTDATE.Value & " and " & Parameters!ENDDATE.Value
but I am getting a forward dependancy error. I have also tried setting a default value but can not get the correct code to subtract three days from Now()
Can someone help me with this one?

Oct 29, 2007I am in process of building a website where the user can upload files and then those files are loaded in to a sql server database. I am using some sprocs to scrub the data and then insert them into the production database.. And in my sprpc before and after updating or inserting a record or scrubing... i am returning the count by raising an error. or returning the rownumber where the error occured.. is there any way i can get the raise error part or whatever error i get while scrubing the data and relay it back to the user in a user freindly way or in a text file... or the best thing is can i open smalll window where i can show them what processing is goin on and alert them if there are any errors...
Any help will be appreciated.

Oct 7, 2015I'm developing an SSRS report using VS2013 Premium with SSDT - BI v12.0.2430.0. SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance.The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report?  Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?

Font Issues

I am running SQL 6.5 and 7.0 utilities on my NT 4.0 SP 5 machine. All of a sudden the query outputs in ISQL or query analyser are garbage. The font is overlaying each other, so that the only way I can view query output is by using the grid output selection in SQL 7.0 query analyser. This is the second company I've worked for where this issue has suddenly occured. I have reinstalled 6.5 and 7.0 to no avail. This is obviously some OS problem. Does anyone know how to overcome this?

I have a report that uses a Garamond font and it renders correctly in HTML, but when the report is converted to PDF, the font changes (I believe to a variation of Arial, but that seems irrelevant). My Operations team has installed the Garamond font on both the web server as well as the Report Server, but the problem is still occurring.
