Combine 2 Select Count Datediff

Jun 21, 2006

I have created two select clauses for counting weekdays. Is there a way to combine the two select together? I would like 1 table with two columns:

Jobs Complete Jobs completed within 5 days

10 5

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SELECT COUNT(DATEDIFF(d, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) - DATEDIFF(ww, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) * 2) AS 'Jobs Completed within 5 days'
FROM dbo.Project
WHERE (SDCompleted > @SDCompleted) AND (SDCompleted < @SDCompleted2) AND (BusinessSector = 34) AND (req_type = 'DBB request ') AND
(DATEDIFF(d, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) - DATEDIFF(ww, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) * 2 <= 5)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Select COUNT(DATEDIFF(d, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) - DATEDIFF(ww, DateintoSD, SDCompleted) * 2) AS 'Total Jobs Completed'
From Project
WHERE (SDCompleted > @SDCompleted) AND (SDCompleted < @SDCompleted2) AND (BusinessSector = 34) AND (req_type = 'DBB request ')

Using Datediff And Count

Apr 17, 2008

I have the following query

select t1.id_num_1, t1.local_trans_date_time, count(*)
from point_message t1
join point_message t2
on t1.id_num_1 = t2.id_num_1 and t2.local_trans_date_time > t1.local_trans_date_time
where
t1.settlement_batch_number = '1923'
and
datediff(mi,t1.local_trans_date_time, t2.local_trans_date_time) <= 60
and
(t1.message_type = '0100' and t2.message_type = '0100')
GROUP BY t1.id_num_1, t1.local_trans_date_time
having count(*) > 1

Why is this the results. The interval is a 60 mintue period so the results should only show the card number once and the number of times it occurs in the 60 mintue period. Does anyone know why it is being broken up? Thanks.

Here are the results:
id_num_1 local_trans_date_time Times

?combine Detailed And Count In One Query?

Aug 15, 2003

Is it possible to combine a detailed query with its related count and sum without using any #temp tables at all?

ex. select customerID, customerName,
(select count(orderID) from tblOrder where orderDate > '01/01/2003'
and orderStatus = 'active') as countActive,
(select count(orderID) from tblOrder where orderDate > '01/01/2003'
and orderStatus = 'inactive') as countInActive
from rfCustomers

something like that? I was heard SQL2k has some new feature like this, or a UDF may be required? Currently, I have to use #temp table to get it.

thanks

Use DateDiff Function Within Select Statement

Feb 3, 2015

I'm trying to use the DateDiff function within my select statement, but I'd like to add the parameter of greater than 30 days. This will have the query only return records where my bill stop date is greater than 30 days from the completion date. I currently have the datediff function within my select statement as

DATEDIFF (d,A.StopBillDate, a.CompletionDate) as [DIFFERENCE]

I would prefer to keep the datediff function within the select statement so as to have difference in days appear as a column within my output.I have been unable to add the parameter of > 30 days to the query without getting an error.

SELECT With UNION And DATEDIFF Does Not Work On SQL Server Compact Edition

Jan 24, 2008

Hi there,

i've tried using the SELECT SQL sentence on PPC with UNION and INNER JOIN in combination with DATEDIFF function which works fine on ordinary SQL but obviously does not work on compact edition. Is there some workaround?

SQL sentence that works:

Code Snippet

SELECT * FROM
(
SELECT 'O' Type, O.Name , OC.Name Contact, Birthday FROM OutletContact OC
INNER JOIN Outlet O ON OC.OutletID=O.OutletID
UNION
SELECT 'W' Type, W.Name,WC.Name Contact, Birthday FROM WholesalerContact WC
INNER JOIN Wholesaler W ON W.WholesalerID=WC.WholesalerID
) S
WHERE Birthday IS NOT NULL AND (DATEDIFF(day,GETDATE(),Birthday) BETWEEN 0 AND 14)

Thanks for any hint or solution to my problem,

Gorazd

Is It Possible To Combine 2 SELECT Statements??

Jan 28, 2005

I am not sure if this is possible, but I was wondering if I can combine 2 SELECT statements so as to aquire a percentage..

I could be overthinking this....I am fairly new to SQL writing.

Here is an example of the 2 SELECT statements that I am using:

Code:

SELECT COUNT([Overall Rating]) FROM S526960.HDPIMaster WHERE Location = 'HBUS' AND [Overall Rating] = 'Good'

Code:

SELECT COUNT([Overall Rating]) FROM S526960.HDPIMaster WHERE Location = 'HBUS'

Within my output I am than taking the the data from the 1st query and dividing it by the 2nd query to get a percentage.

I was hoping that I could accomplish the same action within one SQL statement.

Thank you for your consideration!

Combine Columns In Select

Aug 20, 2007

I would appreciate any help with my following problem... lets say
i have...

select A.firstname + '' + B.lastname as fullname, 'Their Home is ' + A.City + ' ' + (select top 1 C.State from States C where C.City = A.City) as Location
from tableA A, TableB B
Where A.id = b.id

This is not the actual statement but follows the same kinda logic... the problem that i get is that some of the rows in both my fullname column and in my location column show up as null... how would i fix it so for instance even if the state is missing it would still show: their home is LA or if just the last name is available it would show the lastname?

Thank you

Combine Columns From Two SELECT Statements

Sep 17, 2007

I have a database that tracks billing and payment history records against a "relationship" record (the "relationship" maps a many-to-many relationship between employees and cell phone numbers).

I have two statements that look like this:

SELECT CellPhone.PhoneNumber, SUM(BillingHistory.AmountOwed) AS TotalOwed
FROM Relationship
INNER JOIN CellPhone ON CellPhone.PKCellPhone = Relationship.FKCellPhone
INNER JOIN BillingHistory ON Relationship.PKRelationship = BillingHistory.FKRelationship
GROUP BY Relationship.PKRelationship, CellPhone.PhoneNumber

SELECT CellPhone.PhoneNumber, SUM(PaymentHistory.AmountPaid) AS TotalPaid
FROM Relationship
INNER JOIN CellPhone ON CellPhone.PKCellPhone = Relationship.FKCellPhone
INNER JOIN PaymentHistoryON Relationship.PKRelationship = PaymentHistory.FKRelationship
GROUP BY Relationship.PKRelationship, CellPhone.PhoneNumber

Each statement correctly aggregates the sums, but I need a record that shows me:

CellPhone.PhoneNumber, SUM(BillingHistory.AmountOwed) AS TotalOwed, SUM(PaymentHistory.AmountPaid) AS TotalPaid

I can't figure out how to join or merge the statements together to get all of this information into one record without ruining the sums (I can't seem to correctly join the PaymentHistory table to the BillingHistory table without the sums going haywire).

Any help is appreciated.

Combine Fields And Text In Select Statement

Jan 1, 2007

Is it possible to combine fields and text in a select statement?
In a dropDownList I want to show a combination of two different fields, and have the value of the selected item come from a third field. So, I thought I could maybe do something like this:
SELECT DISTINCT GRP AS GroupName, "Year: " + YEAR + "Grade: " + GRD AS ShowMe
FROM GE_Data
WHERE (DIST = @DIST)

I hoped that would take the values in YEAR and GRD and concatenate them with the other text. Then my dropDownList could show the ShowMe value and have the GroupName as the value it passes on. However, when I test this in the VS Query Builder, it says that Year and Grade are unknown column names and changes the double-quotes to square brackets.
If this is possible, or there's a better way to do it, I'd love some more info.
Thanks!

Select Statement With Count Within Another Select

Aug 23, 2013

I am using three tables in this query, one is events_detail, one is events_summary, the third if gifts. The original select statement counted the number of ids (event_details.id_number) that appear per event_name (event_summary.event_name).

Now, I would like to add in another column that counts the number of IDs that gave a gift who attended an event that were also listed in the event_ details table. So far I have come up with the following. My main issue is linking the subquery properly back to the main query. how to count in the sub-query and have the result placed within the groups results in the main query.

SELECT es.event_name, es.event_id, COUNT(ed.id_number) Number_Attendees,
(
SELECT COUNT(gifts.donor_id) AS Count2
FROM gifts
WHERE gifts.donor_id = ed.id_number
) subquery2

Select Count Issue

Oct 18, 2007

Hello,We have a database filled with local restaurants for a directory. What I'm trying to do is display a list of all the cuisines and the number of restaurants who serve that type of cuisine in parentheses. It should look like the example below:American (12)Chinese (3)Italian (5)...Here are the tables with only the relevant columns: restaurants---------------...cuisine_id... cuisines-----------cuisine_idcuisine_name... So basically I want to pull all the names from the cuisines table and then the restaurant count from the restaurants table. The only way I can think of doing that is to grab the cuisine_ids, put them in an array and then use that in a loop to get the count from the restaurants table. That's not very elegant. Is there a better way?Thank you

Help With SELECT Query With COUNT

Here's what I'm trying to do:
1. Output each country in one column
2. Output the number of subscriptions made from a member of that country where tblOrders.orderTypeID = 3 and tblSubscriptionPacks.TypeID = 1 in the next column
3. Output the number of subscriptions made from a member of that country where tblOrders.orderTypeID = 3 and tblSubscriptionPacks.TypeID = 2 in the next column

My problem was that I was doing joins, and I was somehow ending up with orders where the OrderTypeID was NOT equal to 3, even though I declared it specifically in the WHERE clause.

Can someone help me with this query?

The Guest table has GuestName and HouseNo. How can I do a select on all houses and then show a column of COUNT(GuestName) for all the guests with the HouseNo matching each row?

Using A Count W/in A Sub Select Statement

Mar 2, 2006

I'm trying to create a DTS package that uses CDO to send users an email. I need to create a sql query that counts two columns. I also need to create aliases for these two columns and then reference this in the sendEmail function. I have something that looks like this but I'm getting a DTS error. I think that it's because I'm not using an alias to reference Valid and Invalid. Can someone tell me how to alias the subselect columns correctly?? thanks :)

select advertiseremail, accountnumber from miamiherald where AdvertiserEmail is not null (select Valid = (select count (*) from miamiherald where validad = 1), Invalid = (select count (*) as Invalid from miamiherald where validad = 0))
