Audit Table To Compare And Find Difference

Feb 10, 2015

I have a table called [dbo].[co_audit_trail]..All records that get changed in our software gets written to this table.

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[co_audit_trail](
[seq_no] [bigint] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[create_complete] [tinyint] NULL,
[user_name] [varchar](60) NULL,
[db_event] [varchar](16) NULL,
[date_of_change] [datetime] NULL,

[code]....

1. It looks like a 'ª' delimiters between fields. I need to pull out the second column in the above example it is - 9999999999. This is the place reference, so I need that in a separate field.
2. I need a way to compare the two fields and report back the change. So in the above example shows EAST. The After image shows WEST - I need the before image of EAST in one column and the WEST in another column.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: How To Compare Two Rows And Two Different Columns

Oct 22, 2014

I am fairly new to SQL and writing queries so bear with my faults. I am learning on the job, which is good and bad. Below is a query that I have written to obtain some information. The problem arises when we have a patient who goes from Patient Type '1' to Patient Type '2'. This needs to be considered a singular visit and the only way I can think that this may work is if: for any specific medical record a dsch_ts is equal to the Admit TS on the next row.

How to complete something like this and my google searches have been fruitless. I attached a spreadsheet with an example of what I am getting.

SELECT DISTINCT
TPM300_PAT_VISIT.med_rec_no,
TSM040_PERSON_HDR.lst_nm AS 'Last Name',
TSM040_PERSON_HDR.fst_nm AS 'First Name',

SQL Server 2012 :: Compare Two Different Columns Of 2 Different Rows In A Data Set?

Jan 29, 2014

Is there a efficient way to compare two different columns of 2 different rows in a data set as shown below.

For eg: I would like to DateDiff between Date2 of RowID 1 and Date1 of RowID 2 of IDNo 123. After this comparision , if datediff between two dates are <=14 then i want to update 1 else 0 in IsDateDiffLess14 of RowID1 . In below example its 0 because datediff of two dates >=14. So, want to compare the Date2 and Date1 in this sequence for the same IDNo. For RowID 6 there is only 1 row and no other row to compare, in this case IsDateDiffLess14 should be updated with 0.

RowID IDNo Date1 Date2 IsDateDiffLess14
1 123 04/10/2013 04/12/2013 0
2 123 05/10/2013 05/11/2013 1
3 123 05/21/2013 05/25/2013 0
4 112 01/10/2013 01/14/2013 1
5 112 01/27/2013 01/28/2013 0

SQL Server 2012 :: Compare Dates Between 2 Different Rows And Columns?

Feb 18, 2015

What I need to be able to find is any records where the Discontinue_Date is greater than the Effective_Date on the next row for a given Customer ID and Part_ID. This is a customer pricing table so the Discontinue_Date of row 53 for example should never be greater than the Effective_Date of row 54130, these are the records I'm looking to find. So I'm looking for a SELECT query that would look for any records where this is true. Obviously the last Discontinue_Date row for a Customer_ID will not have a next row so I wouldn't want to return that.

Compare Values In Consecutive Rows And Print Rows Based On Some Conditions

May 8, 2008

I have the following variables VehicleID, TransactDate, TransactTime, OdometerReading, TransactCity, TransactState.

VehicleID is the unique vehicle ID, OdometerReading is the Odometer Reading, and the others are information related to the transaction time and location of the fuel card (similar to a credit card).

The records will be first grouped and sorted by VehicleID, TransactDate, TransactTime and OdometerReading. Then all records where the Vehicle ID and TransactDate is same for consecutive rows, AND TransactCity or TransactState are different for consecutive rows should be printed.

I also would like to add two derived variables.

1. Miles will be a derived variable that is the difference between consecutive odometer readings for the same Vehicle ID.

2. TimeDiff will be the second derived variable that will categorize the time difference for a particular vehicle on the same day.

My report should look like:

VehID TrDt TrTime TimeDiff Odometer Miles TrCity TrState
1296 1/30/2008 08:22:42 0:00:00 18301 000 Omaha NE
1296 1/30/2008 15:22:46 7:00:04 18560 259 KEARNEY NE

Can someone please help me here?

Thanks,
Romakanta

How To Compare Two Tables And Find The Gap?

Mar 18, 2008

Hi,

We have inventory table which is updated everyday.
I need to find the gap between updated table vs history (which means yesterday's data).
what i did is I just copy the inventory everyday before it is updated.
So, whenver inventory table is updated I want to know the gap between these two (history vs updated) tables.

The structure of two tables are same and here are columns:
date_key (fk)
store_key(fk)
item_key(fk)
begin_inventory_dollars
ending_inventory_dollars
begin_inventory_units
ending_inventory_units

I want to compare each row and if the value is changed I want to have a gap (updated value - history value) and if data is new then just want to add.

Here is tsql: however when I compare to gap between table from excel spreadsheet and this query, this query does not return a right value. (Some are correct but some don't)

Code Snippet
select a.date_date_key,
sum(a.Beg_Inventory_Dollars- (case when b.beg_inventory_dollars is NULL then 0 else b.Beg_Inventory_Dollars end)),

sum(a.Beg_Inventory_Units-(case when b.beg_Inventory_Units is NULL then 0 else b.beg_Inventory_Units end)) ,

sum(a.Ending_Inventory_Dollars- (case when b.Ending_Inventory_Dollars is NULL then 0 else b.Ending_Inventory_Dollars end)),

Sum(a.Ending_Inventory_Units-(case when b.Ending_Inventory_units is NULL then 0 else b.Ending_Inventory_Units end))

from UPDATED TABLE a

left outer join HISTORY TABLE b

on b.item_key = a.item_key and

b.store_key =a.store_key and

b.date_key =a.date_key

group by a.fisc_date_key

Did I miss something in here?
Any kind of advice would be grealy appreciated.
Thanks.

basically "column2 Text%" so if ID = 1, Col1 = 1 => will have the following comparisons turn out true:

Current date is 12-02-2014

The difference between the two dates is approx 20 months ..To make the calculation easier, it might be easier to default the day of First_Post_Date to 01 and do the same with the currentdate

So it would be 01/07/12 and 01/02/14

SQL 2012 :: Compare Two Columns In Three Tables

Dec 16, 2013

I have one database with several tables in it (table 1, table2, table3). In each table is two colums (colum1 = a number (201220) and colum2 = a number (0.50). Now, both tables will have rows with the same data in colum 1, but colum two will have different numbers (different prices). My goal is to run a query that will compare both colums in all three tables, take the lower of the three based on colum 2 and spit out the row. Obviously, this would output all rows (around 175k). The point is to create a least cost spreadsheet (csv) file based on evaluating all three tables.

Computing Difference Between Two Rows

Jul 6, 2013

I encountered a tricky problem. The original data, say, table_o, is shown below:

IdsStatusDate
ID1402-May-13
ID1310-May-13
ID1216-May-13
ID1120-May-13
ID2308-May-13
ID2210-May-13
ID2119-May-13

The final resulting table, e.g., table_f, is:

Ids4->3 3->2 2->1
ID18 6 4
ID2NULL 2 9

The values in the final table are the days used by each ID transferring from status i to status i-1. E.g., ID uses 8 days (10-May-13 - 2-May-13) to go to status 3 from status 4.

It is hard for me to come up with a table like the final table, although I know that the difference between two adjacent rows can be computed by using self-join and timediff().
