Oct 31, 2002I am trying to edit a system stored(sp_add_dtspackage) procedure and cannot for the life of me find where to edit. This procedure does a check to keep users from saving changes to a package they do not own. I need users to be able to change the the packages when they are not always the one who created.

Sep 5, 2006I have used the copy database wizard, but I realized I had forgotten to shrink the transaction log file. So I canceled the wizard. My database, detached by the wizard, has now disappeared. The mdf file is still there, but when I try to attach it manually I get the "create file encountered operating system error 5 while attempting to open the physical file..." error.
Any way I can recover it?

Create Directory With A File System Task

I'm having a bit of a problem implementing a File System Task to Create a directory and would appreciate some help if possible.
I want to create a date directory so I can move files to once they are imported successfully. The date portion for the directory comes from the import file whose name is variable and in the format of PerfLog_<yyyymmdd>.aud. So, in essence, if I am processing a file named Perflog_20060913.aud, when I am done processing it I want to create a directory c:myprog20060913 and move my processed file there.
Can anyone help me? Please.

HI ,
This is a problem I encountered when I had to detach a database file (type .mdf):
1) I went to the MS SQL Management Server Studi and detached my database file successfully from a connection called Workhorse.
2) I needed to place the .mdf database file into a zip file in order to put it on a remote server. I did this using Shared Portal. This was also successful
3) However when I tried reattaching the database file, I got this error:
CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 5A(Access denied.) while attempting to open or create the physical file "CProgram FilesMSSQL ServerMSSQLData<databasename>.mdf'
Q) The database file and log file (ldf) exist in the correct directory so I don't know what happened. Can any one help?

Create Or Modify MSDE Database

On Administrator session, I have created an CUSTOMER MSDE database. That's OK.
On user session, I want to access on my database CUSTOMER but I have on error : "Unable to connect to the database". And, in French : "Echec de la connexion de l'utilisateur Machine_Name/User_Name".
What is the error ? I don't know what to do any more.
How to give right to the user ? Have you an idea ?

I am calling the procedure from windows batch script as follows

If the directory doesn't exist, its throwing error "The system cannot find the path specified" , but the %errorlevel% still showing as 0..

For example we have a database that it's created size is 103 GB. Only about 52 GB is ever needed. I know you can resize the tempdb but how about user databases? I have never tried this. Can this be done for a user database?

I want to to delete all the records corresponding to the BpDate value before this insert happens. by meaning deleting all the records, I meant to say delete all records where BpDate = @BpDate and SiteCode = @SiteCode.

When I right click on the stored proc and select "Modify", the code opens - however any attempt to save creates a local .SQL file. How can I save these changes to the stored procedure on the server?

I'm from Argentina. I'm not an expert at all in SQL, I know very little about it. I've read in MSDN Library that in order to edit a stored procedure I must right-click the procedure to modify, and then click Design.
I'm using SQL Server Management Studio (not Express) and I don't see any "design" option. I do see a "modify" option. I clicked there and modified just a number I wanted to. Once modified I clicked on the X button to shut the file hoping the system would ask me if I wanted to save the changes made. When I clicked "yes" the file saved into "my documents > sql management studio > proyects".
I checked the original Store Procedure file inside "Programmability > Stored Procedures" and obviously it wasn't altered. I have now a file called "SQLQuery31" in "my documents > sql management studio > proyects" that seems to have the modification made.
Why do I have it there (inside My Documents) instead of modifying the original one? What must I do to get that stored procedure modified?

Can't Modify Stored Proc Which Is In A Publication

SQL 2005 sp1 - merge replication - HTTPS.
We have 2 publications for the database - one which has subscription.SyncType = SubscriptionSyncType.Automatic
and another with SyncType = SubscriptionSyncType.None.
The first publication is there so we can add new stored procs etc, the second contains the initial schema and the data.
When we try to modify a proc which is in the publication with SyncType = Automatic, the query never returns.
This is most urgent - thanks for your help.

"Msg 1105, Level 17, State 2, Line 1
Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.TBL1 '.'PK_CL_ID' in database 'Client01' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.
The statement has been terminated."
Now tried to change the filegrowth of the log file to unlimited
ALTER DATABASE Client01
MODIFY FILE ( NAME = Client01_log, MAXSIZE = unlimited);
The query executes without error but I do not see the auto growth as unrestricted. It's still 2GB

Is it possible to create a script which changes log file size to let's say 100MB for all DBs in all servers instead of running the above command by logging into each server? We have about 200 servers and close to 3000 DBs.
