When I invoke a session in SQL Server I would to create few temp tables. I have got the queries in a file. Is there any way to invoke these queries (Creating Temp tables) whenever I invoke a session.
Any suggestion/guidence would be greatefully received.

The problem is that I do not know how to configure my Analysis Service Server to let ASP.NET account can utilize it. And ASP.NET account in trun impersonates the account who is authorized to use Healthcare DB in the Openquery. Please give a help. Thanks a lot.

I set the session("MyTable") with the user's name as contents when the user logs in, then I copy a new table name with session("MyTable") , I set PK and this all works, but I can't seem to figure out how to use the session var as table name SQLDataSource Selectcommand? I try a bunch of different stuff, putting it into a key in the web.config. Seems like this should be a piece of cake.

What other things would cause the Reporting.mdf to be locked so the SQL server could not open it?
The 2.0 version of ASPSTATE is slightly different than the 1.1 version in that one table has one additional column and another table uses a different data type and size for the key. The 2.0 version also has a couple additional stored procedures.
We'd like to manage just one session state database if possible so we're trying to figure out if Microsoft supports using the new schema for 1.1 session state access (it seems to work, but our testing has been very light).
Is there any official support line on this? If not, can anyone comment on whether or not you'd expect it to work and why?

I have installed SQL Server Express Edition. I have migrated a set of tables from Oracl10g (by using Microsoft's Migration Tool Kit).While I am trying the following simple update command, the session hangs and it never finishes !!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any way to tell if the table (any table in SQL Server) is corrupted or not ?
How can I tell if a session is waiting for something and what is that something ?

I am using sql server 2008 version and invoking the stored procedure using unix script. I want to know the procedure of killing the stored procedure in sql server.
If I kill -9 the unix script will it also terminate the process at the SQL server. When I executed the kill -9 PID in unix and ran the command exec sp_who2 it showed me only one sessionid and status as runnable - which means waiting for resources. BUt I am not sure whether it was the one which was triggered through unix.
My SP is executing in loop thereby is there any way I can avoid going into infinite loop?

Hello, the following code works perfectly in SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 Express over WinXP but when run against an instance of SL Server2005 Express over Win2003Server, the first time Command.Execute is invoked returns no error (even though no action seems to be take by the server), subsequent calls return the error -2147217900 couldn't find prepared instruction with identifer -1 (message may vary, it is a translation from may locale)
Any ideas?

I have a cluster using Always on on 2012 and i have set up a Witness file share which losts connectivity the other day and a failover was invoked.
Is there a threshold i can change so that the cluster can try a couple of more times to connect before it fails over ?
I'm trying to do something that should be simple. I want to use a copy database task and make it generic so we can call on it from and application which would pass the database names and file locations.

The expression edit that is invoked when you click on the ... only allows you to select databasedetails as the object however databasedetails is a collection and I have several properties in that collection that I need to assign values to via variables. I'm still lost and don't know how to enter the expression so that I can set the properties to the values in the variables. In addition the databasedetials collection has a collection which is the databasefiles collection.
Can you show me how to do this? It really is not clear how to assign the values from the variables to the properties in the collection since the editor does not expose the properties with in the property databasedetails since it is a collection.

If I want to automatically insert a record which has default value in a table,
how can I create the trigger?
This is the first time I've used SQL Server Integration Services, and I have it installed with SP2 applied on my local machine. I have created a Package, and dropped a Message Queue Task on it. I have pointed the Message Queue Connection Manager at a private queue on my machine. I have set the "Message" property to "Send message", I have changed the message type to "String Message" and entered "Test string" into the StringMessage property. When I execute the package (by clicking the "Start debugging" button on the toolbar), I get the following error message in the Execution Results:
[Message Queue Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "The ServicedComponent being invoked is not correctly configured (Use regsvcs to re-register).".
There is no more diagnostic data that I can see in the Execution Results. Can anyone please explain to me how I can get this working?

Both are controlled by a C# unit test. The initiator uses the Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer class. The target service uses stored procedure activation.
Sending a message from the initiator to the target, saves the content of the message, along with its conversation handle in the target's database specific table.
The unit test needs - at a later time - to instruct the target to send a message back on the same conversation handle to the initiator service.
For this the C# unit test creates a Conversation off of the saved conversation handle:

Sending the message on this dialog generates an error "Message body: <Error xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQL/ServiceBroker/Error"><Code>-8495</Code><Description>The conversation has already been acknowledged by another instance of this service.</Description></Error>".
Is the error due to the fact that a service - using the activated stored procedure already picked up the conversation, so that a new reference to the service can not be created through the Service class in CLR?
If so, I might need then to skip the activated stored procedure in favor or a CLR service, alltogether?

I am trying to create a table that holds info about a user; with the usual columns for firstName, lastName, etc.... no problem creating the table or it's columns, but how can I "restrict" the values of my State column in the 'users' table so that it only accepts values from the 'states' table?

I am using a Stored procedure in which I am creating a table and dropping that table at the end of execution. This SP is calling every 10 second (but no concurrent access) from my application. Is there any issue using the drop table command in the SP? will it create any memory fragmentation issue in SQL server?

I have a situation with a table that was created for a transactional
system with a 3 columns key. The table is similar to the following:

Now I'm trying to create a dts package that would allow me to build a
city dimension table with unique codes (keys) for each city. What kind of
transformation should I use to translate the old codes (based on the
country-state-city key) into the new ones and preserving the data
integrity?

I'm trying to create programmatically a table in my db on sql server 2005.1. I created a string "CREATE TABLE ....." and then tried to execute it using my ADO. That didn't work, so I copied the string into a query in sql server and got the message "CREATE TABLE sql is not supported". Why's that? 2. I created a stored procedure in my db that will get the "CREATE TABLE...." string and execute it. I thought it would look something like this: parameter @createString varchar(MAX) BEGIN BEGIN EXEC @createString or @createString END END Both these options didn't work.How can I make it work properly?Thanks.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to create tables from a C# code. I made a stored procedure hoping that I will pass a table name as a parameter: @tabName. The procedure executed in SqlServer All Right but when I called it from C# code it created not the table I put in as a parameter but table "tabName." Otherwise everything else was perfect: coumns, etc.
Here is my stored procedure.
