Hi, I have a SRS report that I would like to a add an PDF file to be visibleprintable on the report. The data stored is the file location of the file.
I tried using an image; however it does not recognize the PDF files.
Please advise.

Mar 2, 2014I am trying to create an ssis package with dynamic csv file as output. and out format contains query output.
sample file name:
Unique identifier + query output + systemdate();
The expression is looking like this.
@[User::FilePath] + @[User::FileName] + ".CSV"
-- user filepath is a variable from ssis package. File name is the output from SQL query. using script task i have assigned the values to @[User::FileName] .
When I debugged the script task the value getting properly but same variable am using for Flafile destination. but its not working.
Inserting Image File Into Image Column In DB
Sep 20, 2006I have inherited a VS 2005 database with a table that has a column of type IMAGE. I need to change the image for one of the rows in the table. I have the new image in a *.PNG file on my C: drive. What is the correct method for inserting this file into the IMAGE column.

I have a need to display on screen AND email a pdf report to email addresses specified at run time, executing the report with a parameter specified by the user. I have looked into data driven subscriptions, but it seems this is based on scheduling. Unfortunately for the majority of the project I will only have access to SQL 2005 Standard Edition (Production system is Enterprise), so I cannot investigate thoroughly.
So, is this possible using data driven subscriptions? Scenario is:
1. User enters parameter used for query, as well as email addresses.
2. Report is generated and displayed on screen.
3. Report is emailed to addresses specified by user.
Any tips on how to get this working?

Jan 19, 2007I have three types of specific reports that i have to create with the input parameters (range) either
1: By date (rdl 1)
2.By Month (rdl 2)
3.By Year (rdl 3)
Is it possible ( or how do I ) to create just one report template ( one rdl) with the three sets of parameters ( hiding/invisible which ever two sets base on user selection) and the output of the report will display the desired type( either by year, month or date).
I ask this because its possible to create a drill down report from year down to date etc in report designer (vs 2005). Not sure if I can create one instead of three rdls and with the 'logic' built within that template.

Dynamic Refresh Of Report Model In The Report Builder

could it even be using code with any of the interfaces?
When we add a table or add a column to the table in database , will the report model get refreshed automatically or do we need to do it externally. If so, can we use any of the objects and write a custom code in VB.

Image Does Not Display On Report
Apr 17, 2007I have a simple report that has nothing but an image. The image is part of the project. The image displays in the VS 2005 dev environment when report is previewed. But when deployed and run on the report server website, it does not display. If the report is print previewed or exported to Excel, the image displays. I've set my browser to have the least security as possible but still to no avail (made the website trusted as well). The server is running SQL Server 2005 SP2. My browser is IE7. Can anyone please help? Thanks.

Dec 8, 2005Is there any way to change the image "Report is being generated" to something else or at least change the location of it. I have a report that is very long and our users have to scroll down to see that. They think the report is frozen when in all reality it is still generating. It is postioning in the center of the page and I want it to position at the top.

Feb 18, 2008Hello Guys, I am trying to display image on a report. The image field is stored as a binary data in the database. I am using webservice to access the database and return datasets through which data on the report can be accessed. I saw that the xml returns binarystring value from the database. but when i try to display the image it does not show me anything except blank page. I checked the value of the binary data and it does not proceed with ox and tried appending 0x value but no luck. Guys please help me.

I have a Reporting Services report which must show photographs stored in a SQL Server database. The trouble is that the photos just don't display. The report just shows the little red cross icon.
When I use MS-Access forms and reports it works fine. But I need this to work with Reporting Services!

An unattended execution account is set correctly, the image exists. I have tried with setting the UseSessionCookies to true/false. nothing seems to work.

Report Header Alignment In Dynamic Report

I have a report that grows horizontally as it contains a matrix. In the header section of the report, I have items such as Title and time stamp in text boxes. How can I make these items align in the center if the report grows horizontally, it looks kinda odd with report title not being in the center? Any input will be appreciated.

i have generated the rtf from html and this rtf contains an image and some text,the text is shown in reporting services but image is not shown.i am also using the code that is mentioned in this problem.

Databound Image In Report Header
Jun 14, 2006After finding out that SSRS doesn't directly support databound items in the header or footer, I found the workaround from Microsoft yesterday at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159677.aspx. The problem is that their solution only works for the first page of the report, so it's basically useless! Because this is an image, it also means the workaround of using a parameter doesn't work, either.
Does anybody have any advice? Is there a solution to this problem?

Unfortunatelly, I am a very newbie when it comes to SQL Server Reporting Rervices
I'm currently working on a prototype for a GIS system. It is a web application where the user can select and scroll certain maps (will look like google maps).
The user can print the currently displayed view of the map (including some other data) via a report using the SQL Server Reporting Services infrastructure.
As far as I know, it is possible to add images on the report at built time (using url, database or file in project). Is it also possible to add an image at runtime by passing as parameter? My idea is that when the user wants to print the report, the url to the image of the map would be send to the server and the server would call the report, passing the url of the user. And the report is printed with the image referenced by that url?
I hope, that you understand somehow, what my problem is... I tried to search this forum, but couldn't find any ideas.

I'm having some troubles getting a chart drillthrough to work correctly in the MS Report Viewer. I'm using VB.NET 2.0 in a WebApplication.
Here's what happening:
I build the report with drillthrough functionnality in a chart. When I preview it, or look at it on the report web interface (http://localhost/Reports) it works perfectly. However, once I open it in my WebApplication with the MS' ReportViewer it starts to get ugly.
The report loads the first drillpath correctly. Once I click on a bar to drill to the next drillpath, the report seems to load the data, but the image doesn't represent that as it is the old one. I can tell that the correct data is loaded since the imagemap has changed when I mouseover the chart (links are not on bars, but where they are supposed to be on the second image).
In an attempt to be clearer, here's a step by step:
1- Create the report and the drillthrough functionnality.
2- Preview it in the report builder, works perfectly.
3- Test it in the report manager (http://localhost/Reports), works perfectly.
---
4- Load it in the MS' ReportViewer in my WebApplication, the first image in the drillpath loads correctly.
5- Click on the chart to get to the next drillpath, report reload with what seems to be the good data, but the image isn't refreshed.
So, is it possible to force an image to be reloaded with Reporting Services?

Scenario: Have created a package that successfully outputs Dynamiclly named flat files { Format: C:Test’Comms_File_’ + ‘User::FileNumber’+’_’+Date +’.txt’
E.g.: Comms_File_1_20150724.txt, Comms_File_2_20150724.txt etc} using Foreach Loop Container :
* Enumerator Set to: “Foreach ADO Enumerator” with the ADO object source variable selected to identify how many total loop iterations there are i.e. Let’s say 4 thus 4 files to be created
*Variable Mappings : added the User::FileNumber – indicates which file number current loop iteration is i.e. 1,2,3,4
For the DataFlow task have a OLDBSource and a FlatFile Destination where Flat File ConnectionString is set up as:
@[User::Output_Path] + "Comms_File"+ @[User:: FileNumber] +"_" + replace((DT_WSTR, 10) (DT_DBDATE) GETDATE(),"-","")+ ".txt"
All this successfully creates these 4 files:
Comms_File_1_20150724.txt, Comms_File_2_20150724.txt, Comms_File_3_20150724.txt, Comms_File_4_20150724.txt
Now the QUESTION is how do I get these filenames as I need to insert them into a DB Audittable. The audit table looks like this:

Again this all works terrific & populates the dbo.MMMAudit table as shown below BUT I also need to insert the respsctive file name – How do I do that?

File System Task - Move File With Dynamic Destination Path
Oct 9, 2006I am having an issue with the File System Task.
I was wondering if there is a way to 'Move File' with the File System Task inside of a For Each Loop container but to dynamically set the Destination path variable.
Currently, this is what I have:
FileDestinationPath variable - set to C:TestFiles
FileSourcePath variable - set to C:TestFiles
FileNameAndLocation variable - set to blank
For Each Loop Container Iterates through a folder C:TestFiles that has .txt files in it with dates in the file name. Ex: Test_09142006.txt. Sets the file path (fully qualified) to the Variable Mapping FileNameAndLocation.
Script Task (within For Each Loop, first step) Sets the FileDestinationPath to the correct dated folder within C:TestFiles. For example, if the text files I want to move are for the 14th of September, it takes FileDestinationPath and appends the date folder to the end of it. The text files have a date in the file name (test_09142006.txt) and I am picking this apart (from FileNameAndLocation in the For Each Loop) to get the folder date. (dts.Variables(User::FileDestinationPath?).Value = dts.Variables(User::FileDestinationPath?).Value & ? Month & _? & Day & _? & Year & ?) which gives me C:TestFiles 9_14_2006?.
File System Task (within For Each Loop, second step) This is where the action is supposed to occur. I want it to take the FileDestinationPath and move the FileNameAndLocation file (from the For Loop) into this folder for each run.
Now as for my problem. I want this package to run everyday but it has to set the FileDestinationPath variable dynamically according to that days date. Basically, how do I get this to work since I cant hard code the destination path variable from the start? I have the DestinationVariable on the File System Task set to the FileDestinationPath variable, after the script task builds it. However, using FileNameAndLocation as the SourceVariable on my File System Task tells me that the Variable FileNameAndLocation? is used as a source or destination and is empty.?
Let me know if I need to clarify further...I may be missing something very simple. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Background Image In Report Pixelated When Printing

I have a background image I'm using as a form within my report. the problem is that I needed to reduce the resolution of the image to 96 dpi in order to work with it and line things up within the ssrs/vs2005 report editor. However because the image is only 96 dpi, it looks awful when I go to print. Is there a way I can make it use a different higher resolution version of this image for printing.. or what would someone suggest I do in order to get around this problem..

File System Task - Dynamic Source File Name

Hi All,
I have a source files folder where the files generated everyday.
My goal is pick the latest file and copy this single file to another folder.
I used the Foreach loop container and got the latest file and stored the file name to a varible i.e. LatestFile
Then i want to use the File System Task to copy this to the destination.
On the beginning, I could not setup the Latestfile since I don't its name then, so when I setup the Source Connection property of the File system task, it is not allowed to leave the SourceVarible as blank!
Any suggestion?

we will have one new flatfile everyday.
Is there any process to attach this file to flat file source dynamically?
The requirement is,
The flat file should be able to read the new flatfile everyday.
we have no option change it manually, the flatfile source should have to take the file automatically at that time.
So that it can take that flatfile and load it into database table.
