May 1, 2006I am developing several charts with column type and sub type as stacked. There is a requirement from the users that they want an option to choose the type of chart.
Is it possible to change chart type dynamically from say Column type to Line type based on user option in front-end?

Red Line On Cpu Graph

In your experience, what is the most like kind of cause to the cpu graph sitting quite high most of the time along with a constant second graph line in red at around the 10% line.
I feel that my aim should be to get rid of the red line alltogether. I've got a few ideas, but I don't know for certain how to target that particular symptom.
Any suggestions?

My line chart displays all lines in a single color (the series color). I'd like a single color per item in the series just like the bar chart. Is there a way to change this? Or is the only differentiation the markers?

Here is what I have so far: Here is the SQL that makes it work: SelectCommand="SELECT Count(TicketID), Category FROM Tickets GROUP BY Category ORDER BY Count(TicketID) DESC ">My problem is with how the totals seem to go on forever. Instead of being in proportion to each other as a percentage of a the total amount of tickets.. they just increase in size with each additonal entry. Can someone help me restructure this so that I can calculate the totals individually and as a whole and then apply the totals to create a proportional bar graph?Thank you greatly for your help,Mark

Mar 19, 2008So I have created a chart in my report that counts the number of transactions by day. Each day in a month is a series. Now when I view the report, the series line is different color as expected until I hit the 17th, then the color associated with the line repeats. I.e. the 1st and the 17th are the same color line, the 2nd and the 18th are the same color...etc.
Does anyone know how to break the color limitation quandry?

May 15, 2015I am displaying the red line in the beginning of the current week column in the matrix table. But for few resources the red line is missing. For Example in below screenshot, refer the 'Adrian Larkin' resource. Here is the SSRS report border expression which is comparing the [TimeByDay] with the current Week First Monday Date to display the red bar -

Here is the dataset result set. If you refer the column [TimeByDay], it has no record for the date 11/05/2015 for the Adrian resource as he has no assignment for the date 11-05-2015.display the red missing line red bar using the expression or any other solution.

for some AP issue, the file I upload must be without the line feed/carriage return in the last line.
for example:
original fixed-length file (exported from SSIS)
line NO DATA

3 CC123456 80 90
4 <-- with line feed/carriage return in the last line
The file format that AP request. The file only has 3 records, so it should end in the third line.

Should I use script component to do it ? I am new for VB . Anyone would help me ?

Aug 31, 2007I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum (forgive me if I'm not) since I'm not sure if this is an issue with inserting an item into a db or the processing of what I get out of it. I wrote a basic commenting system in which someone my post a comment about something written on the site. I wanted to keep it very simple, but I at least want the ability for a user to have newlines in their comment without having to hardcode a <br /> or something like that. Is there a way for me to detect a newline if someone, for example, is going to their next paragraph?

Now we need to add a trend line to this existing graph after going thro. the articles we came to know that there is no direct option in SSRS to draw a trend line. So we need to calculate the trend values ourselves which we need to plot as atrend line. This trend line is similar to the trend line which comes in Excel chart, do anyone know how to calculate the trend values from the actual data points. We got through several formulas, but were not clear, have anyone tried out exactly the same, if so please help us out by providing an example to calculate the trend values.

BIDS Line Charts - Cant Remove Line?

When creating a line chart, I would like to be able to show Markers for the data points, but no line between these points (as you can do in excel).
I have set the line setting to none (for the lines of interest), however the lines still show.
Is this a bug, or am i missing something obvious settings-wise?

Trying to delete some data from a SSCE (2005) DB produces the exception:

I'm trying to insert some values into an SQL Compact database on a WM6 device but there is something apparently wrong with my SQL statement...
The program is going to allow users to schedule an SMS message to be sent at a certain date and time. I'm using a database to keep track of the scheduled SMS messages. The database has 3 rows: phone number, message, and the date/time to be sent.
Here is the relevent code:

I'm guessing it doesn't like how I am trying to get the data from the different text boxes and the DateTimePicker to go inside the SQL command. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my SQL command or how to get data from a textbox and DateTimePicker to be inserted into a database a different way?
IIF Statement To Change Color

Not sure what I did wrong to this code. What I would like this code to produce is, if any number is less than 0 (negative) than it should be red, if it's greater than 0, it should be black. Somehow it comes back red even though it's a positive number.

How To Change The Color Of A Bar In A Bar Chart?
Jan 6, 2007I am having a problem setting the colors of the bars in a bar chart. It seems like it would be the simplest thing, but apparently it's not.
The "series" is grouped on whether or not the value is positive -- if so, the bars are blue (by default) and if not, green (by default). I want to change it so the positive color is blue and the negative color is red.
I found that I can change ALL the bars to one color by going to chart properties, Data tab, Values Edit, Appearance tab, Series Style, Fill. There I set the color to red and ALL the bars became red. But this is not what I want.
I tried using a conditional statement like IIf(Fields!IsPositive.Value=True,Blue,Red) for the color, but (not surprisingly), it told me I hadn't defined Blue and Red.
Does anyone know exactly how to do this?

is there a way to work with two background colors (yellow and white) and that

i know i have to work with an expression in my background property of my textcell or row

a guess).
