I am developing support ticket system and i want to know who's going to take care of the email sent to support@domain.com, who's going to generate the ticket number, send automatic email and add the entry to the sql server?
I have a report that gets sends out through a subscription and sometimes the report has multiple pages and all those pages appear within one email.Is it possible to set the subscription in such a way that an email is sent per page when the subscription executes.

Hello ALL
what I want to achieve is to load a text file that has email addreses from disk and using the email addresses in the text file look it up against the email addresses in the database table then once matched delete all the users in the table whose email address were in the text file.
I also want to update some users using a different text file.
Please help me with the best way to do this

We recently had a problem with DB Mail. SQL jobs that sends an email succeeded but the email in the job fail to sent. There was a problem with the email server. The error is included. We fixed the problem with the email server. How can I get an alert when a DB Mail email fails send?

Does anyone know how to send emails from within a trigger without the use of a mail server. I know that xp_sendmail can be used if a mail server, such as MS Exchange Server is available and SQL Server is set up as an e-mail client. However is there a way to send mail to the outside world without the use of a mail server? (Perhaps there is a third party product or extended stored procedure that can give me this ability?)

I am trying to set up the email notification system in SQL server 2000, but im having some problems. Mainly, im having problems with setting up an email account in the first place (there is a dedicated mail box, but the one im working with is a different box altogether).
If anyone could help fathom this out from start to finish i would be really grateful.
I need to have a process extract some data, export it to CSV and then send it as a plain (non-MIME) message, or as a single-part MIME message. Multi-part MIME messages can't be used.
This process will be called about 20 times daily with different subsets of data.
What is the best way to approach this?
It seems that in order to get an email alert from SQL Server 2000 I need Microsoft Outlook orMicrosoft Exchange client installed. Is there any other way to get an email alert (not net send) when a back up is finished? for example using a @hotmail.com account?

I want SQL Server Agent automatically run every morning at 1:00 AM, check against "remindWHEN" date, if match with current date, send out email to "remindWHO" for what they need to do in "remindWHAT"
I was told this can be done by using the "Jobs" feature under SQL Server Agent to do this, but I don't know how to write Transact-SQL-Script under "Job Step".

Help with query: I currently cannot be alerted by SQL Mail so I would like to take the script that was generated by SQL server and using the store procedure sp_sqlsmtpmail to generate a email using smtp server to alert me. The store procedure does work. I would like to know if this is possible.

So I have planned to make a storedproce which will be called by a job (which will select some record from one table and put it in other table based on a flag) but I want to run it in a transaction so that if email is send successfully then only it should commit else it should rollback.

within sql server management studio... we have set up a few sql scripts to run at 2am every night (sql server agent > under jobs)... although it has been successful each night, we'd like to setup sql server agent to automatically email success and failure notifications to our email boxes.
i see under the properties of sql server agent > jobs > properties of a job > there is section that says Notifications but then it doesnt really have a place to type in which email we want to send them to? some reading material or instructions greatly appreciated
