Error 30311: Value Of Type 'System.DBNull' Cannot Be Converted To 'Date'

I'm creating an ISP for extractig data from a text file and put it in a database.
One of the fields in my textfile contains the value '0' or a date. If it's '0' it should be converted to the Null Value. The column in which it has to be saved is of type smalldatetime.
This is the code of my script where I want to check the value of the field in my textfile and convert it to a date or to Null.

Hi, I have developed a custom server control for .NET Framework 2.0. The server control has a property named BinaryData of type byte[]. I marked this property to be data bindable. Now, I have varbinary(Max) type of field in my SQL Database and I have used SQLDataSource and bound this varbinary(Max) field with the property BinaryData (byte[]) of my control. It is working fine as long as the data value is not NULL. Now, In my control, I have handled the NULL value so that no Exception is thrown. Still, when I bind this property using the SQLDataSource, I get Error "Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.Byte[]'." I am not sure if I can do anything to stop this erro within my control. If it is not possible from the control, then what is the workaround that I can do in my ASPX page in order to stop this error ? Hello Friends How are you?? Friends i am getting problem in SQL Server 2005. I am deployng web application on production server as well as Databse also. In production server i inserted new field in all tables which is rowguid and its type is uniqueidentifier. The default binding for this field is newsequentialid(). In some pages it works ok but in some places it generates error like 'Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid'. Can anybody help me to solve this problem. The following error is encountered when importing a delimited flat file with date of fomat "dd.mm.yyyy"
Error: 0xC02020A1 at Data Flow Task, Source - DCDtest_xpt [1]: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "value date" returned status value 2 and status text "The value could not be converted because of a potential loss of data.".
This was when I manually built the package.
I get the same error when using the Import/Export wizard
I am even using the "suggest types" button and have tried sampling the default number of rows (?200) and also 2000.
The type it suggests is DT_DATE.
But reading the BOL, this would appear to be the wrong type:

seems to indicate that
DT_DBTIMESTAMP
is the correct value
(I cannot believe that they have different datatypes in SSIS than in SQL. I can't believe for a minute this is for all the hundreds of thousands of Oracle users who obviously switched to SSIS when they saw what a high quality product it is.)
I tried other DT_... values but no dice.
Can anyone help?

I'm getting this error on a vb.net page the needs to execute two separate stored procedures. The first one, is the main insert, and returns the identity value for the ClientID. The second stored procedure inserts data, but needs to insert the ClientID returned in the first stored procedure. I have a flat file that is read in by SSIS and then populates our db.
In this flat file there are blank spaces that represent null entries, which are date time values that we need to remain null but instead shows up in the table as the lowest date time value (1753)
Does SSIS automatically convert this since this is not done in our code?

when i go to http://servername/reports , the UIlogon.aspx page loads fine and i enter username and password. but i get logon failed.
when i go to http://servername/reportserver , the logon.aspx does not load and i get the following error message :

I have a flat file that has a date column where the date fields look like 20070626, for example. No quotes.
The problem is that several of the date values are missing, and instead of the date value the field looks like this , ,
That is, there are several blank spaces where the date should be. The number of blank spaces between the commas doesn't appear to be a set number (and it could even be 8 blank spaces, I don't know, in which case I don't know if checking for the Len will produce the correct results, but that's another issue...)
So, similar to the numeric field blanks problem, I wrote a script to convert the field to null. This is the logic I used:

The next step in my data flow after the script is a derived column where I convert TradeDate from 20070625 to 06/25/2007. So the exact error message I am receiving is this:
[OLE DB Destination [547]] Error: There was an error with input column "TradeDate - derived" (645) on input "OLE DB Destination Input" (560). The column status returned was: "The value could not be converted because of a potential loss of data.".
Do I need to add a conditional split after the script and BEFORE the derived column to redirect bad rows so they don't go to the derived column?
I have a web page which executes a stored procedure with several parameters. On execution I get an error for the following piece of code. I will be passing null value to the stroed procedure for this parameter "ActiveDate". We've had Reporting Services running in a production environ. for 6 months fine, but from Saturday every report now causes the following error (in both the Report Manager and Soap calls):
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get Online Help
Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: date
Now, before you jump to conclusions - this error is occurring on reports with both parameters and no parameters (ie in reports that have no "date" parameter in the report).
The next bit of info is the weird bit...
It was working on Friday (25/March/2006) - so as a test, i switched the servers clock back to Friday - and BINGO... it worked. Then I changed it to Saturday (26th March) and it doesnt work. In fact for the next 7 days - the service will not work until April 2nd 2006 - (when I changed the systems date to the 2nd it worked again.) Moving forward, it looks like its working fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions? This is in a production environment, so obviously changing the sytsem date as a quick fix workaround wont suffice.

When i use JetOLEDB & .mdb file I can show correctly date type field in mshflexgrid with str() function. For example

i can see dd.mm.yyyy ' namely good when i dont use str() function i see mm.dd.yyyy ' bad version
