Forbidden Access To ReportServer (error 403)

Jul 23, 2005

Hi,I am gradually tearing my hair out and other bits of my anatomy tryongto get web access to my reportserver.Currently I can access the rportmanager via a web interface andconfigure user access etc etc, at which point the fun begins. When I try to browse to the URLhttp://domain/reportserver?/reachUmobile/Users I get a 403 error,so.....I check the permissions on the directory and the web directories andadd what I think are the user accounts needed to access these resourcesbut unfortunately I am at a position where I have added EVERY useraccount with FULL control to both the directories AND the reportmanager via the web browser.I cant possibly add any more user/permissions and I have been trying tofind the problem for a day now and getting rather "angry"..Anyway, apologies if there is not enough info here but if any of youguys know of any good resources that are available (I have triedbooks/web etc) then I would be grateful for any pointers to debugging, logs etc (I have checked the usual logs and nothing!)Short of uninstalling the report server I have tried everything, and Idont really want to go that route as the previous developer didn;tleave me the report project (.NET). bugger....Anyway really appreciate some help on this..Many thanksRichardplace in the url create and update the settings for all my datasourcesvia the reportmanager.2.

Moving ReportServer Databases Example In Error?

May 21, 2007

The following link shows an example of backing-up and restoring the databases supporting Repor Server. My question is not so much Report Server-related but I question the restore syntax for restoring the logs.

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156421.aspx

I honestly do not see how the following code would work. At least, I was not able to until I deleted everything after the "NORECOVERY". Then it seemed to work fine but maybe I missed something!

-- Restore the report server log file to new instance folder
RESTORE LOG ReportServer
FROM DISK='C:ReportServerData.bak'
WITH NORECOVERY, FILE=2
MOVE 'ReportServer' TO
'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataReportServer.mdf',
MOVE 'ReportServer_log' TO
'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataReportServer_Log.ldf';
GO

Thanks a lot!

Error Executing Parse In SSMS

Jul 11, 2006

Executing Parse in Sql Server 2005 Management Studio I get the following error:

.Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0

A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded.

Reading SP1 fixes, I found a similar problem but despite I installed latest hotfix (sql version is now 9.0.2153) I can't able to execute Parse to check T-SQL statements...

Thanks,

Giulio

Integration Services :: Login To SSMS Got Access Denied Error

Sep 9, 2015

When I try to connect to "Integration services" in "SSMS" with my window authentication, for some servers can able to connect. But for some server i am getting error like "Access denied".

To fix these Access Denied, as per instruction from google, i have configured the Administrative Tools-->Component Services->Component Services-->Computer-->My Computer-->DCOM Config-> Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services 11.0--> Right
Click-->Properties-->navigate to “Security”--> then adding the Active direcotry login in the "Launch and Activation Permissions", "Access Permissions" and "Configuration Permissions".

Then this issue was fixed. I want to know why this was happening to some servers only, what is the reason behind this.

Getting The Operation Could Not Be Completed. (WinMgmt) Error Suddenly In SSMS For RS Connection

Feb 7, 2008

suddenly I'm getting a connect to server error dialogue box that says...

Cannot connect to serverinstance name
Additional information
The operation could not be completed. (WinMgmt)

...when trying to connect to RS2005 Server in Management Studio. I can reach Reporting Manager thru IE and run my reports.

Is it possible that my setting IIS to basic authentication (and turning off Windows Integrated) might be preventing me from connecting in MS, perhaps because MS has to go thru the RS service and doesnt know what basic auth is?

I'm temporarily unable to set IIS back to Windows Auth cuz the server is being used by users to test reports.

Error When Restoring DB

Jan 18, 2007

Hello,

I think I am getting a similar problem to a previous post, I get this message when restoring a SQL 2005 DB.

Msg 3132, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The media set has 2 media families but only 1 are provided. All members must be provided.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

It was backed up using whatever tool is in the full version of Server 2005. I only have the express edition and to restore I have run the filelistonly to find the logical file name. I then run a query like:

restore database new name from disk ='file location and name'
with move
'logical file name for mdf' to 'new location',
move 'logical file for ldf' to 'new location'

I have done this many times before with both 2000 and 2005, although the backup is usually done on command backup database 'database name' to disk ='location and name'.

Please help!

Cheers

Error In Restoring Data From CD.

Aug 14, 2000

I need to move a database from one server to a new server. Right now, I only have database file on CD which is generated using the backup feature of MS SQL server.

What I did was I copied the file from CD to the harddisk of the new server.
Then I used the restore database, restore from disk, where I specified the location of the backup database file. When I began to restore, the error message I got was:
The file 'e:MSSQL7dataGTCSQL_data.mdf cannot be used by RESTORE. Consider using the WITH MOVE option to identify a valid location for the file. Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally.

The error message in the error.log of SQL server is:
BackupFileDesc::VerifyCreatability: Operating system error 3(The system cannot find the path specified.) during the creation/opening of physical device e:MSSQL7DATAGTCIntranetSQL_dat.mdf.

What did I do wrong? How to use the WITH MOVE option? This is the first time I use MS SQL server. So please give me detailed instruction if posible.

Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

I have to say that i want to restore the database with a different name that's why in the error says 'PROBANDO' , i'm really concern about this problem because it means that i have no backups for my data. I used to use this procedure on sql server 2000 every single day without problems, but on sql server 2005 it doesn't work properly.

Please help me.

Thanks in advance.
