How To Show Partial Report Based On User
Mar 18, 2008Hi, I am new to SSRS. Is there a way to show part of a report based on User. Say we have a report consisting data for all department. When a department director view it, the report only display data for his/her department. Can this be achieved in SSRS? Thank you in advance for your help.

When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .

Feb 14, 2007I have a pretty complicated report (lots of subreports, tables, etc) that can be well over a few hundred pages long. I can generate the report just fine, but I cannot seem to export it to anything other than an html archive. I need to export to PDF. Every time I try to export it get an error that says:
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.
I don't get any more information than that. Is there a way that I can figure out what the actual error is, or any other way I can go about troubleshooting this? Thanks.

we are using sql reporting 2005 and we are rendering data with some html links into the reports while generating the repoert.
so when i export the report into the PDF with the in built export functionality i am getting those links into the pdf also.but i don't want the links into the PDF file.

I'm searching for an possibillity to export an report automaticaly - I just want to embed the download of subreport by clicking on a main-report label.
The only way, that I've found to do that is to use action with option "jump to url". Is it possible to use "jump to report"?
How can I do that?
If my only option to use "jump to url" (that would be horrible) how can I pass report parameter?

Oct 9, 2007Another problem.I have a report with a subreport(which is a matrix) which retrieves data from the database.My problem now comes when i export my report to html,together with the matrix subreport(which is so long),scroll bars wont show..What could be the reason for that?? I have created a Report (type Tabular) and deployed it on a report server. I am accessing the report via Report Viewer. Now when the report is exported in to pdf format, It gets exported and the pdf also gets created. But at times user is not seeing any data in the PDF even if the Report had data in it.
I am guessing the following may be the reason:
1. Network issues and bytes not received properly
2. Huge load on the Report Server and something have gone wrong.
But I am not able to get the reason why this happens. Anyone who has encountered the problem, please help me.

when i used other function except formatcurrency so it's works!!
But it's doesn't work when used formatcurrency function!!!

I have a requirement where the end-user's preferred solution is to export report results from Reporting Services into a spreadsheet so that the user can run a series of Excel macros on the resulting data. This is only going to serve as a quick fix until we develop a longer term solution.
My question is: is there a way to export report results from RS to an existing spreadsheet or spreadsheet template that has the macro code in it, and perhaps even initiate the macro. I would like to avoid the user having to cut and paste from the report spreadsheet to the spreadsheet with the macro in it -- reduce human error.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I am getting the error: C:Documents and Settingsdan.evansLocal SettingsTempc6xhwdrx.1.vb(24) : error BC30456: 'Render' is not a member of 'Microsoft.SqlServer.ReportingServices2005.ReportingService2005'.
Has anyone had any experience doing this sort of thing?
My holy grail is to create an ssis package that accepts some arguments (source rs report path, destination path, report parms, destination file format, etc...) that I can use over and over again to manage some automated report distribution.

Feb 26, 2008I'm not sure if this can be done. There are some threads that say yes and some that say no.
If my report's detail section is hidden unless toggled by group2 is there a way to retain the collapsed entries as collapsed when the report is exp[orted to excel?
Right now when I export to excel the report is all expanded. An export to pdf looks fine but I need to in excel.
I tried this and I must have done something wrong cause it did not work.

Export SSRS 2005 Report To Excel

I have created a report in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. After I export it to Excel format, if I try to print it (Hardcopy), my Excel crashes. It shows an error and shut down. I'm using Excel 2000. It even shows me same error when I click on "Print Preview", in Excel.
Everytime I try to print the excel worksheet, a window pops up with the heading "Visual Studio Just-in-Time Debugger". The error is: "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in EXCEL.EXE [3460]".
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Export To Excel Failed With ReportItems And Sub Report

I have two RDL files, one is main.rdl, the other one is sub.rdl.
In the body of main.rdl, I threw in a subreport that links to sub.rdl. Follow by the subreport is a table, in which has a textbox called mytitle. In the page footer, I added one text box that references to mytitle by using ReportItems!mytitle.Value.
When this report rendered in HTML or PDF format, it worked fine. However, when exporting to excel format, it failed. I figured it is because there isn't a ReportItem in the subreport called mytitle. I tried adding a dummy textbox into the subreport and called it mytitle, but again, no luck.
Did anyone ever encounter the same problem? Is there a work around way?
