Ok, there is no such program in this folder. The only thing in there is "SQL Server Error and Usage Reporting"...

Dec 10, 2007I get the following error and have been trying to figure out why I keep getting it. Initially, I had placed my project under wwwroot folder and ran it under IIS and it gave this error. Then I moved it to my local C drive and same thing. I am sharing this project with two other co-workers and all our config files and code files are same...they don't get this error but I do. I checked that SQL Server Client Network Utility has TCP/IP and the 'Named Pipes' enabled. I thought maybe I have setting in the Visual Studio 2005 that I'm not aware of that's causing this problem...it can't be the server since my co-workers aren't having this error and can't be anything in the code since all of us are sharing this project through vss. I dont' think using different version of .net framework can create this error. I changed the version from 2.0 to use 1.1x and it gave same error... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nov 10, 2006I am trying to add a linked server from a AMD x64 server (Windows 2003) with SQL Server 2005 64 bit to a Server running SQL 2000. These are not in the same domain.
I can create a linked server using the option "Be made using the login's current security context" but can not when trying to specify the security context, i.e. sa and the sa password. When I try I get the following message:
Msg 15185, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_addlinkedsrvlogin, Line 98
There is no remote user 'sa' mapped to local user '(null)' from the remote server 'DTS_FSERVER'.
I have several other x64 server that I have no problem creating a linked server and specifying sa and the sa password.
The problem with using "the login's current security context" option is that I get an error when trying to run any Jobs against the linked server. The job fails withe the following error:
Executed as user: NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM. Access to the remote server is denied because no login-mapping exists. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 7416). The step failed.
I'm sure the two errors are related. Any ideas what is going on?
Import And Export Wizard: Transferring Multiple Tables From SQL Server 2005 To SQL Server 2000

I just used the SSIS Import and Export Wizard to copy 50+ tables from SS05 to SS2K.
I found that the wizard created a package that I could not figure out how to edit, e.g., to change whether or not it had to CREATE a table, or just use an existing one. (I created some problems by manually editing the receiving table names to be ones that already existed -- but the original names it had did not exist, so it knew it had to create them. What I should have done, and eventually ended up doing, was scroll through my list of tables in the "receiving" box; I just figured editing the name would be faster, not realizing what problems I would create for myself.)
Anyhow, now that I see the complex package that the wizard creates, with a LOOP over the 50+ tables, I would like to know how/where in the package it is storing the information about the tables to copy.
Basically the wizard creates the following Control Flow tab entries (in processing sequence order):

Where, and how, can I look within this package to see the details about the tables I am transferring? I see that one of the Connection Managers is "TableSchema.XML" -- but it points to a temporary file on my hard drive, that I presume is populated by the package. Where does it get its information?
This is certainly much more complex than the package I would have written, based on my limited knowledge of SSIS. I would have been inclined to create 50+ Data Flow tasks, one for each table.
So now I'm trying to understand why the Wizard created this more-complex package.
Any help will be appreciated, including references to non-Microsoft books/websites/etc.

Jul 21, 2015We have a database on a 2005 box, which we need to keep in sync with one on a 2014 box (until we can turn off the one on 2005). The 2005 database is still being updated with changes that must be applied to the 2014 database, given the nature of the data (medical documents) we need to ensure updates are applied to the 2014 database in very near real time (these changes are - for example - statuses, not the documents themselves).
Cunning plan #1, ulgy - not at all a fan of triggers - but use an after update trigger to run a sp on the remote box via a linked server in this format, with a SQL Server login for the linked server with permissions to EXEC the remote proc.

Whether it actually possible to call a proc on a remote box via a trigger and if so what additional hoops need to be jumped through (like I said, it'll run OK called via SSMS)?
Do I Need To Create A Domain To Get Connectivity To A Report Server Database On A Remote SQL Server Instance?
Oct 23, 2007I'm setting up a simple SSRS implementation for a non-profit organization, using two servers hosted at a data center. The first server has SQL Server Standard Edition and Reporting Services installed. I've designed and deployed a number of useful reports on this server.
I was hoping to isolate this first server by installing IIS and SSRS on the second server, have users browse from the Internet to that second server (over SSL, of course), and have all reports served up from databases (and, presumably, the report server database) on the first server.
During the installation of SSRS on the second server, however, I'm being prompted to specify the service account. According to the help text:
"Reporting Services. Service accounts are used to configure a report server database connection. Choose a domain user account if you want to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance. If you are using a local report server database, you can use a domain user account or Local System to run the service."
I believe I want to configure SSRS to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance; therefore, it appears that I need to enter a domain user account. The only problem is, neither server belongs to a domain; they are members of a simple two-server workgroup.
Does SSRS, configured to connect to a report server database on a remote SQL Server instance, require a domain? Does what I'm hoping to accomplish require a domain? Creating a two-server domain seems like overkill for this implementation, doesn't it?

I am using Windows 2000 server and SQL Server 2000 SP3a on both machines.
I am executing the following statement in Query analyzer.

@RemoteQuery,

@RemoteQuery consists of a SELECT four-table join, all tables are on the same linked server.
The Linked server has been set up on MyLocalServer using the "Microsoft OLE DB for SQL Server" provider. In the "Provider Options" for the linked server properties I checked "Non transacted updates" and "dynamic parameters". In the "Server Options" tab I have checked "RPC", "RPC Out", "Data Access".
The EXECUTE part of the query runs great (and returns the data very fast) by itself. But with the INSERT part, the query fails and returns the error:
"Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1, Line 17
The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ]
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a]."
The two servers are seperated by firewalls, so I believe the reason the query is failing is that I haven't followed the procedures for setting up the ports etc described in one of the microsoft support articles: e.g.: 250367.
Configuring the ports involves too much company politics, and besides, for what this query does, it does not need the benefits of a distributed transaction.
How can I execute my query without SQL Server automatically trying to upgrade it to a distributed transaction?
More Info: I can execute the query as a straight INSERT/SELECT linked-server query and it does the INSERT on the local SQL Server just like I want it to, so I assume it is not trying to use distributed transactions; but it takes around 7 seconds to run even though the entire SELECT is executed on the linked server, whereas executing with sp_executesql takes only 1 second.
I thought selected "non-transacted updates" in the provider would solve this problem, but it did not.
Anyone know the answer?

Net Transport (eg. TCP),
Client Net Address and TCP Port
but not how the server's IP address was resolved. Is the connection string ever sent by the client to the server, or just used for DNS lookup?

I am developing a windows application that needs to communicate with a remote SQL server 2005 database. Server allows remote connections and MSDTC service also running. Do I need to run MSDTC service on the client machine where I use desktop application ? any ideas ? It's throwing some error like

A Newly Placed ISA Server (2006) Is Not Allowing My IP Phones Register To A Remote Proxy Server Outside My Network

Hi all,
I am having seriuos problems getting VoIP traffic into and out of my network via the ISA server which we just newly installed.
My network topology is such that the phones i am using for the VoIP service, sitting inside my network and behind the ISA server, have to register to some remote proxy server outside my network and as soon as it registers i can begin using the service. The VoIP service is on the platform of SIP and uses udp ports 5060 and 8080.
I have permitted the necessary ports on the ISA server for the service being UDP port 5060 and 8080 but still cannot get my VoIp traffic through the server.
Please i need some help here as regards something i am supposed to do or something i am not doing right on the ISA server to permit my traffic.
I am a newbie to this Microsoft ISA server and i hope you all understand

Error-14010-remote Server Not Defined As Subscription Server
May 4, 2006Running SQL Server Personal Ed (Server A) on Tablet PC (publication and distribution setup here) trying to push data to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Ed. (Server B). When I start sync I get two failures. First is 'remote server not defined as subscription server'. Second, subscription to publication xx not valid (error# -2147201019). The snapshot is succeeding fine. What do I need to setup on Server B? I have the same db on both servers.
T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Export Data To Client Remote Desktop?
Feb 26, 2015I need to write a stored procedure or SSIS to export data to client's desktop. What is the best way to achieve it?
The requirement is to develop a web application the client can click on the button and the file will be saved to the clients' local C drive.
How should I configure the destination path here?

What is the fastest whay to take the resultset
from an temporary table (# table)
and write it to an remote destination (mapped network drive)
initiated from stored proc?
Similar question if I take the resultset and convert it to xml (using FOR XML clause)
and want it written to disk.

SQL Server Admin 2014 :: Setup Performance Monitor Collector On Workstation Collecting Remote Server Data?
Mar 31, 2015I set up the collector, and specify the Run As as my AD account in the Collector Set - Properties - General screen. My AD account is the local admin of the remote server.
However, the collector does not seem to work. Although the collecting set is shown as running, the The blg file stays at 64K. If I open it, there is nothing inside (no counter at the bottom). What did I miss?
How To Export Sql Server 2005 Express For Import On Web Sql Server

I'm new to SQL Server 2005 Express and SQL. I've been using Access for year and have not moved on to asp.net for my website. I understand from 1and1.com that I will need to imort a backup of my SQL Server 2005 Express file to my on site database. I don't find any way to do that. Please advise as to how I get the express version to work on my site.

Moving One Table From One Server To Another Server Using Import/export?
Mar 18, 2008I have two databases on two different servers (an old hosting solution and a new). I need to get all the data from one server to the other but I have no clue as how to do it with MS SQL Server Management Studio Express.
I can easily make the create table scripts that will allow me to create the tables on the new server but what about all the data. I wondered if there is some way to export and import data from one server to another?
With the old SQL Enterprise Manager I was able to import or export as I saw fit but I can't seem to find anything like this with the express manager.
Anyone has any advise as I would like to avoid coding somekind of export program myself,

Export SQL Server 2005 Express To SQL Server 2000
Aug 2, 2007I'm trying to export a SQL Server 2005 Express database to SQL Server 2000 sp4, but have so far been unsuccessful. SQL 2005 Express doesn't have an Export Data function and backup/restore doesn't work because of the different versions.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
