Extracting Out The Rdl (layout Info) From Given Pdf/word Document

Is it possible to extract rdl template from a given pdf or word document? We are specifically interested in extracting layout information. We want to do it programatically.
The content and layout of pdf or word document are simple.

We are facing an issue while creating a word document through BCP utility of MS SQL Server 2005. Ours is the Survey application where there could be various Respondents with different languages who can receive a Questionnaire through mail. Now the requirement is to send the Questionnaire in Word Document which would look like a form having Radio buttons, check boxes and images etc. controls. To achieve this we have written a Stored procudure in MS SQL Server 2005. In this Stored procedure, we are writing an HTML Code in formatted manner and at the end using BCP utility we create a word document in specific folder. Then we attach the document from that folder in mail using sp_sendmail of MS SQL server 2005 and send it to the Respondent of the Survey. 1> The issue we are facing here is when the Respondent receives the mail and opens the word attachment, it opens the document in designer mode where controls(Radio Button and check boxes) are not clickable. Hence Respondent is not able to fill in the document as a form. However Respondent has to click on 'Exit Designer' button in the menu to make it as interactive form. The requirement is when Respondent opens the Word document it should directly open as Interactive form rather that clicking on 'Exit Desinger' button on menu. 2> Secondly when we create a word document, there are some images that need to be shown as seen below. As of now, in HTML code we have given a path of the Web Server as '<http:WebServerIP/images'. However we would like to know whether there is any way to Embed the images directly in the Word Document rather than referancing them from the Web server path.

I have a form that has a Word object. I want to save that object to the sql db. The original front and backend was an Access db and this all worked using an ole field. The backend data has been moved to a sql 2000 db. The reading of original Word objects works fine but I can't get any new objects stored. I have seen postings that there is no way to by-pass saving the object to a temp file but really I can't get anything to work. The attached code makes no complaints but when I try to access the new object I either get an empty object or an error that the ole server has a problem.
The code below includes simply saving an exisiting doc but that doc does not come back out of the db. I tried just for grins to store the form object in a temporary Access table and then save that field. Actually I got no complaints but then I got the same results. The use of the external file mimics examples I've seen even on this forum. any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm designing a Job Recruitment Website, in which the admin person searches for the right candidate for the job using certain keywords . Each jobseeker will be uploading his CV (ms word doc) during registration .How can i search for keywords in the word documents. I just want the candidate reference once i found keyword match in the word docs.I heard about the indexing and blobs in sql server? But dont know much about it Are these the only solutions ?Is there any better approach for this ?Any help will be greatly appreciated

I wanted to import the above word doc into my sql server DB. I have two columns in the table 1.Chaptereid 2.chapter_notes chater1,chater2,chapte2,chapter3,chapter4 and chapter5 should go into chaptered column and the text followed by the chapter id should be imported into chapter_notes column.

The situation is I need info from a certain SharePoint site that is in a sql database. The problem is The SharePoint site currently contains data from 9 different projects, all using the same database. The database is a complex setup and it would not be an easy operation to extract the special information alone. The database is run with Microsoft SQL and is comprised of 4 separate databases. 3 databases organize the data (500+mb of data total) and 1 stores the data for all the sites (12.5+GB and increasing at a rate of 100-300mb per day).
How can I get the special data I need from this setup???
I've created a report that will print on a pre-printed paper. Is there a way to embed a word document into a report or some other type on document. I'm not able to format the text like in word.
I have a request from the customer to export a report to Word as a read-only document. I am restricted to out-of-the-box SSRS 2008, so I cannot write any custom export functionality.
The customer has the ability to export as PDF, and I suggested that, but before I tell them there's no easy solution, I wanted to get input from other Reporting Services folks.
I have a program where I have to do a weekly data upload of approx 1,500 records. I've written the sql, but need to know how I can add static header text to the SQL statement.the text I need in the header is Reportname(Static string) + #rows (Rowcount of the sql, int) + department (String static) I'm planning on writing it and saving it as a package, then schedule it to run every Friday at 5:00. But I have been reading a little on Reporting Services and wonder if people think it' might be the way to go? Is it a whole new area of security issues? Or is it worth installing and learning? I will have more and more reports I need to write that will increase in complexity, and want to know if I want to keep writing querys by hand, or use reporting services. Thanks in advance! Dan
I designed a report in reporting services 2005. When i look at the view layout for the report everything is aligned correctly but if i go to print preview one matrix is shifted up or down. I have tried to put the matrix inside a rectangle but the issue is still present. Does anyone know why this is happening or any suggestions on what to do to fix it.

I want an sql command where if i type only 'harry broom' this 'harry potter broom' product will show up. Does anyone have any idea? I want to be able to see when records have been added to a table. The issue is we have a DTS job scheduled to run every night. The developer who wrote it password protected it and doesn't work here anymore. I want to add a step to this series of DTS jobs and want to run it just prior to his job. Is there a way to see when the records are being added or when this job is being run? Thanks again, you guys are the best.
Is the word "Name" a reserved word in SQL? look at line 10 of my stored procedure. When I use the word "Name"it is highlited in blue by SQL Server? I work for a financial company where we send out lots of correspondence to clients on a daily and monthly basis. This would typically be something like a financial report, account statements, etc. We've decided to use PDF as the format which these documents must be in when our clients receive them.
Our marketing and sales departments designs the templates of these documents using Microsoft Word. They can save these MS Word documents in the Word XML format (either 2003 or 2007). We want it in XML format, because it is text based, and we can therefore string replace the content to update the template with a client€™s information. In the same token RTF would also do, but the file size when converted to RTF is a problem.
What I am looking for is a way to convert this XML into PDF using something like XSL-FO - i.e. we do not want to use the Word Interopt on our Production Server, firstly it is a little slow and secondly the production server is unmanned and we cannot allow a WinWord.EXE process to not close successfully for some or other reason.
I've tried a number of companies' evaluation software to try and achieve this (converting the WordML to PDF via XSL-FO), but so far no luck.
Does anybody know of a stylesheet out there with which I will be able to achieve this? Or an alternative method of converting MS Word files into PDF without using Word to do it?
I have a form that I created that groups make and model and it totals all the fields to make 1 entry on the Layout. I then am trying to get the layout to SUM those values but it does not. For example we have 2 Make, Model, Totals CV, P2100, 50,000 CV, P2100, 52,000 CV, P2100, 48,000 CM, R3200, 50,000 CM, R3200, 53,000 CM, R3400, 20,000 CM, R3400, 22,000
As you can see above we have 2 Makes CV and CM, with Diff models. The code i used totals the make, model, and totals for the parts. Results look like this. Make, Model, Total CV, P2100, 150,000 CM, R3200, 103,000 CM, R3400, 42,0000
I tried to use the SUM function and it takes all older totals and places that at the bottom creating a Larger value than what should be posted.
the CM total should be 145,000 and the CV would be 150,000.

We have a report that is printed landscape and contains a main table with values. Inside this table we also want to create a "sub-report" table based on two other criteria (charges and credits), but this data is still grouped with the main table. Here is a simple schematic of the report

We have placed a rectangle in the last column of the main table to accomodate two other "sub-tables": one for Charges and the other for Credits. We need to keep the heighth of each row in the main table the same (without extra white space) so we cannot move the second table for Credits below the table for charges.
I hope this makes sense and anybody with any suggestions, it is appreciated.
I'm developing a system in .NET to record and manage marks for classroom attendance. To enable staff to print-out the registers, I need to output the data in a printable format. My first thought on this was to use Reporting Servcices, however there are a number of caveats.
I'm using the matrix control to handle the displaying of the students with the class dates and attendance marks. After 25 columns are output this should wrap to a new page, is this possible? When wrapping to a new page, the first 3 columns should remain the same with the other 18 being the next lot of class dates. There needs to be 25 rows shown, regardless of whether or not there are actually 25 rows returned from the dataset.
Essentially the layout for this is strictly controlled. Is RS the correct tool for this or is there something else I can/should use?
I have got problem of designing a report table. The table is created based on 5 field dataset output, student name, semester, unit name, unit code and exam mark. e.g.

and there is supposed to one table for one semester and the student ID and Semester must be in the first 2 rows and all the other data is column based as normal, which is like

I only can create the table using grouping but the layout is column based. Does anybody know how can I design the table to achieve the above table layout.
I started the project with the goal of using 2005 Reporting Services as the reporting mechanism. Our graphic designer has created a layout that has been approved by the company and I am attempting to translate that layout to a report design that gives similar output.
I have discovered during the course of working with reports that true free from data layout is not possible. What I was expecting was the ability to design a layout for data in the body section of the report, and that layout being repeated for each row of data in the database.
I understand that tables and lists exists that allow repeated data to be displayed, but is it possible to repeat data in a custom freeform layout with 2005 Reporting Services.
Imagine if you were creating a report that looked like an ID card for each record. Would such a layout be possible with this reporting service?
If not, could someone direct me to a reporting application that does? Does Crystal Reports satisfy this requirement? I liked Reporting Services because it allowed one to design once and output into several popular formats, but the design portion doesn't appear to be as freeform as I was lead to believe.
When I preview my Reporting Services Report in VS2005 the report uses 2 separate pages. Even when there is very little data on Page 1 it will display something on Page 2.
