this follwoing code is throwing an error in sql server 2005

what is wrong with the syntax?

I am trying to load 200,000 records into a MS SQL 6.5 database table using a Visual Basic data load program. I continuously receive the following error message after 175,000 records.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Can't allocate space for object 'Syslogs' in database 'ECAPDemo' because the 'logsegment' segment is full. If you ran out of space in Syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE or sp_extendsegment to increase the size of the segment. Occurred on 01/22/1999 03:35:41 pm

I increased the Master database size up to 200 Mb, with TempDb at 250 Mb but I still receive the error.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
I have a process that failed with the following error message. The SQL server error messages also said the Transaction log was full and there was not enough disc space.
Strangely, when I checked all the drives on the server, there was plenty of free space, the smallest amount free on one drive, where SQL server is located was 20GB. I am confused.
I backed up the DB to another server and deleted a lot of the transaction logs and now the drive has 30GB and is okay.
Does anyone know how the transaction log fills up? Can I change a setting somewhere to increase the maximum size of the transaction log? Or maybe change the location where it is saved to another drive? Or have it automatically cleared out every once in a while?
Any of your input is greatly appreciated.

Trying to make a full-text table of a few tables in SQL server 2000 using the SQL Server Managment Studio. I am getting the following error when I then try to view the columns using the table. The column it is having a problem with is just a varchar text column. I have tried a few different tables and each time it has a problem with one of the columns. It does not give me an error when creating the full-text table. Anyone have any information on this?
I check on a full text table I made a while ago and it is giving me the same error but searches on it seem to be working, but cannot tell if it is using the one column it is having an issue with.
Property TypeColumnName is not available for FullTextIndexColumn '[MyColumnName]'. This property may not exist for this object, or may not be retrievable due to insufficient access rights. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

Hey guys,
I'm exporting via dts to an excel spreadsheet. However my database has more than 65000 records. DTS croacks and shoots out that there are too many records in the spreadsheet.
What do I do? Any way to go around that? These are my daily hit logs that are recorded and they tend to get big.

I am running a copy object DTS and consistently get the error 'cannot allocate space for <objectname> because the primary filegroup is full.
I've got auto-grow on with unliminted growth. There is more than enough space on our Data and Log file disks. I haven't reached teh 32TB limit of the filegroup size by any stretch of the imagination. The source datbase is 250mb yet even when I create the destination DB at 300mb I still get the error!
Also, I tried creating a secondary filegroup and this didn't help, either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey - this is a SQL 6.5 Question. I get an error that goes something like this...
Can't allocate space for object 'Syslogs' in database 'test_database' because the 'logsegment' segment is full. If you ran out of space in the Syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE or sp_extendsegment to increase the size fo the segment.
Okay, i understand that the log is full. But since I have been working mainly on SQL 7, I don't completely understand the 'dumping'. I know that everyone is busy, and if you don't have time to explain this to me, could you tell me where to look? I am going to check MS Knowledge Base, but any advice or direction is appreciated.

Could not allocate space for object 'dw_MasterClaim_ProcLine' in database 'fl1stDwProd2' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full..
I have two db's prod1 and prod2.
I looked at the properties of each.
On the tab Data Files both of these have the same file name (prod2).
One has 5897 space allocated and the other 13162.
Not sure why they are like this or even if it's correct. Could this be my problem? If so, how can I fix?

I have just added a 500G USB drive. I have created a DB on it and am attempting to export data to it. The problem is I keep getting:
Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.Matched' in database 'MyDBK' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup
The drive is empty so there is plenty of room. How do I set auto gro or something so this error goes away?

I'm using Full-text in various databases on my servers (SQL2005 on W2K3). On a few databases the Full-text population ends with the error:
'Error '0x80030050' occurred during full-text index population for table or indexed view '[database].[dbo].[table]' (table or indexed view ID '1714105147', database ID '9'), full-text key value 0x00015EE1. Failed to index the row.'
The next log-line lets me know the name of the dll that caused the problem:
The component 'offfilt.dll' reported error while indexing. Component path 'C:WINDOWSsystem32offfilt.dll'.
There's one solution I read about, but that one is not the case here. That sollution states that this problem occurs when de datatype is not the same as the filetype (e.g. datatype is pdf, documenttype is doc).
What can be the problem here?

I build some t-sql code to check if full text is installed on the sql server. If not, some sql statements must be not executed. Here is my code:

Statement 1 and 2 is not executed, but for statement 3 the server throws the following error:
Full-Text Search is not installed, or a full-text component cannot be loaded.
I don't know why the server tries to execute statement 3, because it is in an if statement.
Any help is welcome.

I have installed 'full text index' on a server, initialized it and created a job to full text two fields in a table. I can see that the last refresh was a day ago. I am calling a stored procedure: (the server is version 7 of SQL Server with sp3)

Hi,
I am just starting to study for the sql 7.0 admin test. Using the sybex book and bol I have run accross an error that I can not seem to find any support for. I am trying to do a full text index and I receive the following area: "An unknown full text failure (80004005)occured in function EnumCatalog on full text catalog".
I have looked on the website high and low and cant find anything on this error. Can someone give me some possible input to what the problem is?

I keep getting the "primary filegroup is full" error when ever I try to write data even though the following things are true:
allow unlimited growth set for BOTH database and transaction log
auto shrink and auto update statistics flags are set in database options
growth set to 10 percent for both
database is 4GB but disk has 12GB freespace
transaction log is on same disk but is only 8MB ???
SQL shows the database has 2% free space but any attempts to write cause the error, shrinking drops this to 1% but still produces the same error on writes
SQL shows the transaction log has 90% free space
backup maintenance plans are in operation for both transaction log and database (write to different drive)
I am completely confused!

Does anyone know exactly what behaviour is exhibited when running astored procedure and the log file fills up while the procedure is stillrunning?I am seeing, through a created history table, a stored procedure thatbegan to run (by the fact that there is a row in the history table) butnot finish correctly. Hello everybody,
I have installed SQLServer 2005 for take advantage of full text seach features.
When I start full population, there are some rows that cause error and not are indexed.
I see the log in C:ProgrammiMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLLOGSQLFT0000700005.LOG. In this file there are seven rows that have error and for everyone a line that say:
"Error '0x8004fd01: The IFilter::Init() function call failed.' ... full-text key value 0x495532303045594154504B55. Attempt will be made to reindex it. The component 'pdffilt.dll' reported error while indexing. Component path 'C:ProgrammiFoxit SoftwareFoxit PDF IFilterpdffilt.dll'."
With different full-text key value for every line.
My question is:
1) Start from a full-text key (ie. 0x495532303045594154504B55), how I arrive to the record in the source table for understand which is the problem?Otherwise how can I examine the problem if I don't know the row that cause the error?
2) What is the error 0x8004fd01?
3) Could be that the PDF filter of Foxit is better than Adobe? With Adobe filter (version 6) my full pupulation is endless!

Hi all,
I need to load a table with 820,000 records from a Sybase db via DTS. It always fail with the error:
"Error at destination for row number 820000. Could not allocate space for object in tablespace tempdb
. The default filegroup is full.".
There is only the primary filegroup defined in the db. I've increased the size from 1.5GB to 2GB,
and specify that it shd grow automatically by 10% and there's no limit to the size.
There is still some 28GB in the server, so it should be fine.
It still fail so I added another file to the primary filegroup with size 100MB. Again, it failed with the same error msg.
Where or how else can I increase the tempdb size?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi guys, I sent the following queries to my DB and they seem to work with success messages after each line but when I try to test it I get the message at the bottom. Any ideas? there's a good chance my test sql is all wrong!

Hi, though i've been using sql server 2000 developer edition for awhile, I guess i overlooked the fact that the full-text search tool was never installed and i never needed it until now. Anyway, tried installing it today and get this error:
Installation of Microsoft Full-Text Search Engine Package Failed (-2147220991) 0x80040201
An event was unable to invoke any of the subsribers
I have no idea what this means - can you help me to get this installed correctly? I did just install service pack 4, and i tried reinstalling the components, tried rebuilding the registery of the current instance, and even tried creating a new instance with hopes that the new instance would install the full-text component - which it did not.
Any suggestions? Maybe I have to unistall the entire Software and reinstall it? Would I lose any of my data in doing this? I should note that all other tools seem to function fine.

I am running the following script to attempt a restore of a differential backup:
RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks
FROM DISK='C:SQL2005_BackupsAutoBackupsAdventureWorks.bak'
WITH
NORECOVERY

RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks
FROM DISK='C:SQL2005_BackupsAutoBackupsAdventureWorksDiff.bak'
WITH RECOVERY

I thought this was the way to do it. It does restore the full backup, but on the attempt to restore the differential backup, I get the following error:
Msg 3136, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
This differential backup cannot be restored because the database has not been restored to the correct earlier state.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
Does anyone know what this means? Do I have to use "with recovery" on the first restore? (The sample I took this from used "with norecovery")
The original backups were done with SQL Agent scheduled jobs. The script for the full backup is:
BACKUP DATABASE AdventureWorks
TO DISK='C:SQL2005_BackupsAutoBackupsAdventureWorks.bak'
The script for the differential backup is:
BACKUP DATABASE AdventureWorks

We have an iFilter to extract text on emails and their attached files. I have encountered 5 emails that receive the following error code, but I cannot find anything on the error code: Error '0x80fc7586' occurred during full-text index population for table or indexed view '[RIA_Unindexed].[dbo].[Emails]' (table or indexed view ID '485576768', database ID '31'), full-text key value 'E11264A2-A17D-E511-80E0-005056B240B1'. Attempt will be made to reindex it.After a number of retry attempts they will fail to index.what does error code '0x80fc7586' refer to, I have not found it.
Since the first two bytes of the error code are the severity and facility reporting the error, I stripped off that information and looked for error 0x7586 or 30086. That error reported "Too Many products".Theses emails being indexed contain attachments with large attachments that then the attachment chunks are being called for from the fdhost may result in too many chunk segments, or more likely there are some repeating words in the extracts like 4 million occurrences so right now I am testing that condition. To see if the word breaker is throwing the error.

I've enabled full-text indexing on one of my tables, and the following query used to work:
SELECT *
FROM TempAttachment
WHERE CONTAINS(attachment, 'text')
However, now I get the following error:
Msg 9955, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
SQL server failed to communicate with Full-Text Service (msftesql). The system administrator must make sure that same service account is used for both services and the service account has the permission to auto start the full-text service.
I've checked the configuration and verified that both accounts are the same. I've restarted the services, and tried rebooting, and still no luck. I did a search on this error, and found this page from MSDN, which doesn't help me much: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337365.aspx.
Has anybody come across this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am altering a table ( changing the data type to varchar (8000) from nvarchar (1500) ) with 352929 rows. I get the transaction log full error.
The database is in FULL RECOVERY model. I changed the recovery model to SIMPLE and performed the alter but I still run into error.

I have a database that has had a full text index at some point in it's history - but no longer does. The database is currently at SQL 2012 compatibility, but it was created on SQL2000. It still appears to have a row in the internal table sys.sysftinds - but some of the column values are NULL, and NULLs are not allowed. The database fails DBCC checks because of this.

I have two instances (Source and Destination) on the same server, i did a full backup of a database on the source server, i did a restore on the destination using the NORECOVERY mode, now the database on the destination as green arrow saying "restoring". From the source database i set up the mirroring, i'm using port 5022 on source and 5023 on destination, everything seems to connect fine but when i start mirroring i get the error message "Database mirroring cannot be enabled because the database is not full recovery error: 1465" but when i look at the property of the db on the source the recovery model shows full as so the destination?
