Get Last Two Hearing Dates In Table?

Feb 7, 2013

We store all hearing dates in our db. Most cases have many hearings, but I only want to get the last two dates from the hearing table.

I can get the very last hearing date by using Max() and I can get the first by using Min() but how do I get the next previous date?

Power Pivot :: Measure Results Limited By Fact Table Dates Instead Of Date Table

Sep 17, 2015

I cannot create a measure that returns results for dates that do not exist in the fact table despite the fact that the components included in the measure contain valid results for these same dates.Creature a measure that counts the number of days where the "stock qty" is below the "avg monthly sales qty for the last 12 months" (rolling measure). Here is the DAX code I have tried for the measure (note that filter explicitly refers to the date table (called Calendar) and not the fact table):

StkOutCnt:=CALCULATE (
COUNTROWS ( VALUES ( Calendar[DateKey] ) ),
FILTER (
Calendar,
[Stock qty] < [Avg Monthly Sales Qty L12M@SKU]
)
)

Below you can see the sub measures (circled in red) are giving results for all days in the calendar.Highlighted in yellow are dates for which the StkOutCnt measure is not returning a result. Having investigated these blank dates, I am pretty confident that they are dates for which there are no transactions in the fact table (weekends, public holidays etc...).why I am getting an "inner join" with my fact table dates despite the fact that this is not requested anywhere in the dax code and that the two sub measures are behaving normally?

Help On How To Fil La Table With Dates, Please?

Apr 9, 2008

Hi
I have a dataset, a sql query, that selects a bunch of opportunities. The result consist of close date, values, names, owners, topics and so on.
I have put the result in a matrix and the. The matrix will grow to the right with the months columns. Only the months that have an opportunity in them will be shown. (estimated close date is the date were I select from).
So, for example when there are opportunities in Jan, Feb and Aug in 2008 only those 3 months will show the data that corresponds to each opportunity.
Now, how can I make my query to show all the empty months as well? I want a matrix that shows Jan, Feb, Mar, €¦ Nov and Dec, even if they don€™t have any opportunities in them.

Kind Regards

What is happening is a date that should be set up like this "11/12/2004" is actually coming across as "Nov 12 2004". I tried using a cast(fieldname) as Varchar(30) on the datetime type, but it didn't help. does anyone have any ideas on how to retain the original date form in moving it to a varchar type? thanks in advance...

Query Earliest Dates Of Each Year In A Table

Nov 30, 2011

I have to find the earliest date for any existing calendar year in a table...

For instance.....

ClientID Year
1 1/1/2000
1 2/1/2000
2 3/1/2000
2 4/1/2001
2 5/1/2001

The results I need are....

ClientID Year
1 1/1/2000
2 3/1/2000
2 4/1/2001

It is all contained in one table. I have got the earliest years by using the YEAR() function and grouping by it. The only problem is that I am having a problem joining the table back onto itself with the subselect because of it's an aggregate.

Here is the first join I have....

SELECT DT.ClientID, Year1 FROM
(
SELECT ClientID, YEAR(MyDate) as Year1
FROM MyTable
) AS DT
GROUP BY ClientID, Year1
ORDER BY ClientID, Year1

I want to use that as my derived table and then join back to it... but it's not working...

DB Engine :: October Dates Losing Hour On Table Insert

May 5, 2015

I have a datetime field used to store a date of birth. When inserting the date of birth into the table it works fine. But when the date of birth is in the month of October, it takes an hour off. For example, if the date is 04-OCT-1993, it inserts as 03-OCT-1993 23:00.

It only happens for dates in October. It's being inserted via a .Net table adapter. It just so happens that October is the month that daylight savings kicks in parts of Australia (an hour is added), but I think this must be a coincidence.

Transact SQL :: Updating Table Rows With Overlapping Dates (extend)

Dec 2, 2015

This question is extension from the topic Updating table Rows with overlapping dates: [URL] .....

I am actually having a table as following:

Table Name: PromotionList

Note that the NULL in endDate means no end date or infinite end date.

ID PromotionID StartDate EndDate Flag
1 1 2015-04-05 2015-05-28 0
2 1 2015-04-23 NULL 0
3 2 2015-03-03 2015-05-04 0
4 1 2015-04-23 2015-05-29 0
5 1 2015-01-01 2015-02-02 0

And I would like to produce the following outcome to the same table (using update statement): As what you all observe, it merge all overlapping dates based on same promotion ID by taking the minimum start date and maximum end date. Only the first row of overlapping date is updated to the desired value and the flag value change to 1. For other overlapping value, it will be set to NULL and the flag becomes 2.

Flag = 1, success merge row. Flag = 2, fail row

ID PromotionID StartDate EndDate Flag
1 1 2015-04-05 NULL 1
2 1 NULL NULL 2
3 2 2015-03-03 2015-05-04 1
4 1 NULL NULL 2
5 1 2015-01-01 2015-02-02 1

The second part that I would like to acheive is based on the first table as well. However, this time I would like to merge the date which results in the minimum start date and End Date of the last overlapping rows. Since the End date of the last overlapping rows of promotion ID 1 is row with ID 4 with End Date 2015-05-29, the table will result as follow after update.

ID PromotionID StartDate EndDate Flag
1 1 2015-04-05 2015-05-29 1
2 1 NULL NULL 2
3 2 2015-03-03 2015-05-04 1
4 1 NULL NULL 2
5 1 2015-01-01 2015-02-02 1

Note that above is just sample Data. Actual data might contain thousands of records and hopefully it can be done in single update statement.

Extending from the above question, now two extra columns has been added to the table, which is ShouldDelete and PromotionCategoryID respectively.

Original table:

ID PromotionID StartDate EndDate Flag ShouldDelete PromotionCategoryID
1 1 2015-04-05 2015-05-28 0 Y 1
2 1 2015-04-23 2015-05-29 0 NULL NULL
3 2 2015-03-03 2015-05-04 0 N NULL
4 1 2015-04-23 NULL 0 Y 1
5 1 2015-01-01 2015-02-02 0 NULL NULL

Should Delete can take Y, N and NULL
PromotionCategoryID can take any integer and NULL

Now it should be partition according with promotionid, shoulddelete and promotioncategoryID (these 3 should be same).

By taking the min date and max date of the same group, the following table should be achieve after the table is updated.

Final outcome:

ID PromotionID StartDate EndDate Flag ShouldDelete PromotionCategoryID
1 1 2015-04-05 NULL 1 Y 1
2 1 2015-04-23 2015-05-29 1 NULL NULL
3 2 2015-03-03 2015-05-04 1 N NULL
4 1 NULL NULL 2 Y 1
5 1 2015-01-01 2015-02-02 1 NULL NULL

Transact SQL :: Add Random Dates To Existing Table From Defined Range

Jun 15, 2015

I'm trying to add random dates to date column in existing table, but these need to be week days (Mon-Fri).I'm a beginner in TSQL, worked with MS Access many years - in Access I used to do something a bit different:

DateAdd("d",(Int((5*Rnd([ID]))+1)),#31/08/2015#)
Table had ID, I gave a date it would start from (31/08/2015) and then range of ID to apply new date:
UPDATE table1 SET table1 .date = DateAdd("d",(Int((5*Rnd([ID]))+1)),#31/08/2015#)
WHERE (((table1 .ID) Between 1 And 5456));

This was applying random dates in range of 31/08/2015 + 5 days, so I could give a starting date of Sunday to get random dates populated over given IDs from Monday to Friday. Now, how can I do it in TSQL?I have a table with ID and dates column. I would like to apply new random dates from some range, but making sure they will be week days.

SQL Server 2008 :: Compare Data / Loop Through Dates And Insert Into Table

Sep 21, 2015

I have three tables:

"PaymentsLog"
"DatePeriod"
"PaidOrders"

As per below

SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
SET ANSI_PADDING ON
GO
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[PaymentsLog](

[Code] ....

Is there a way to look at the DatePeriod table and use the StartDtae and EndDate as the periods to be used in the select statement and then cursor through each date between these two dates and then insert the data in to the PaymentsLog table?

Transact SQL :: Find Missing Months In A Table For The Earliest And Latest Start Dates Per ID Number?

Aug 27, 2015

I need to find the missing months in a table for the earliest and latest start dates per ID_No.  As an example:

create table #InputTable (ID_No int ,OccurMonth datetime)
insert into #InputTable (ID_No,OccurMonth)
select 10, '2007-11-01' Union all
select 10, '2007-12-01' Union all
select 10, '2008-01-01' Union all
select 20, '2009-01-01' Union all
select 20, '2009-02-01' Union all
select 20, '2009-04-01' Union all
select 30, '2010-05-01' Union all
select 30, '2010-08-01' Union all
select 30, '2010-09-01' Union all
select 40, '2008-03-01'

For the above table, the answer should be:

ID_No OccurMonth
----- ----------
20 2009-02-01
30 2010-06-01
30 2010-07-01

1) don't include an ID column,

2) don't use the start date/end dates in the data or

3) use cursors, which are forbidden in my environment.

Generate Dates Between Two Dates

Nov 8, 2006

Hi,

I have a table which records employees'time-off records. There are 6 columns in this TimeOff table. They are RequestID, EmpName, StartDate, EndDate, Type, NumofDays. I have another table which has all the dates from 01/01/1950 to 01/01/2056.

I am trying write a query which lists all the dates between the timeoff startdate and enddate, including the the start and end dates, but my query so far only lists the start and end date in a timeoff record:

SELECT D.[Date], Datename(dw,D.[Date]) AS Weekday
FROM Dates D LEFT JOIN TimeOff T ON D.[Date] = T.OffStartDate OR D.[Date] = T.OffEndDate
WHERE (OffType = 'Sick Day' AND EmpName = 'Cat White') AND (D.[Date] BETWEEN T.StartDate AND T.EndDate)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Getting Individual Dates Between 2 Dates

Mar 4, 2008

Has anyone ever written a function to retrieve all individual dates between two given dates? Using DATEDIFF I can get the number of days between two dates. However I need to iterate through the days to identify weekend and holiday dates. Has anyone ever written a function to do this?

So, if select datediff(d,'07/01/2007','07/15/2007') as NumOfDays returns 14, I'd need to iterate through the 14 days and get the weekends and holidays. Would I have to use a cursor to iterate through the days?

Dates

Jan 10, 2002

Hi can anyone help me , or am I on the wrong track.

Is there any easy way to create a stored procedure that inserts into a table the relevant months dates into a table based on the month and year as parameters.
I.e say the parameters passed are 01/2001 hence based on this all of the month of January 2001 dates are inserted into a table in this format : 'Jan 01 2001 12:00:00'

Thanks
