I've been chasing down the multiple dataset issue.
I have a form which was created using the drag-n-drop dataset wizards.
In my project I have a form which has a DatagridView based upon a dataset.
I also have a Combo box based upon a completely different dataset.
I would like to copy the form into a new project
and base the controls upon a completely new/different dataset
which is a single dataset that has all my tables and underlying queries built in.
Does anyone know how to do this?

FORMS.LDF file is 7613952 KBand the growth is 512MB .
By how much should I set the filegrowth? The users are complaining that the application is freezing on them.
This is sqlserver 2000.

I'm having a very frustrating problem that no amount of formatting via properties and/or expression seems to be clearing up.
I have a column in the dataset that is data typed decimal (6,4) (from the SQL query). The numeric value is, for example, being returned to the data set as 0.6500.
The problem is the report wants to just show zero. Formatting efforts to date have only yielded, '0', '0.00', & '0.0000'.
I have no clue. Anyone have any ideas?

Stored Proc Returning Dataset && Number Of Records Not Working

I've created a sproc in SQL2000 that returns a dataset from a temp table & the number of records it's returning as an output parameter, although I can't seem to retrieve the value it's returning in asp.net although I get the dataset ok.
This is my sproc
create procedure return_data_and_value

Aug 17, 2015I have a transformation where final result set give me 25 rows of data. Now before I put into destination table, I need to add another column which will show how many total records we have. Like.
My dataset:
A 20 abc
B 24 mnp
c 44 apq
Now I need to add another column within my transformation before I store the result set to destination like this:
A 20 abc 3
b 24 mnp 3
c 44 apq 3
Here. new column gives count of total rows in our dataset which was 3.
How can I achieve this? Can I use derive column to this?

I have a dataset with 2 columns, a rownumber and a servername - eg
rownumber servername
1 server1
2 server2
....
15 server15
I want to display the servernames in a report so that you get 3 columns - eg
server1 | server2 | server3
server4 | server5 | server6
...
server13 | server14 | server15
I have tried using multiple tables and lists and filtering the data on each one but this then makes formating very hard - i either end up with a huge gap between columns or the columns overlap
I have also tried using a matrix control but cant find a way to do this.
Does anybody know an easy way to do this? The data comes from sql 2005 so i can use a pivot clause on the dataset if somebody knows a way to do it this way. The reporting service is also RS2005

Dataset1 pulls property id's and other sales data from a table (2014_COST) based on the user's parameters. I have set up another table (AUDITS) that I would like to use in dataset6. This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. In other words, I'd like the results of dataset6 to show me the property id's that are contained in the AUDITS table but which are not being pulled into dataset1. Both tables are in the same database.

I want this to return the CLOBs for the small number of rows in Table 1. The PK is indexed obviously so it should be a fast look up.
Table 1 and Table 2 live on different Oracle databases. How do I perform this operation efficiently in SSIS? It seems the Lookup and Merge Join wont do this.

I have a stored procedure attached below. It returns 2 rows in the SQL Management studio when I execute MyStorProc 0,28. But in my program which uses ADOHelper, it returns a dataset with tables.count=0.
if I comment out the line --If @Status = 0 then it returns the rows. Obviously it does not stop in
if @Status=0 even if I pass @status=0. What am I doing wrong?
Any help is appreciated.

D1 is a list of classes with classid and title
D2 is a list of data. each row in D2 has a classid. D2 may or may not have all the classids in D1. all classids in D2 must be in D1.
I want to show fields in D2 and group the data with classids in D1 and show every group as a seperate table. If no data in D2 is available for a classid, It shows a empty table.
Is there any way to do this in RS2005?

I have been volunteered to be our SQL admin. We've never used SQL here before. I've been studying it for a month or so now, but have unexpectedly been given a project for SQL 2000 with a deadline of next week. I have no problem with creating the database, the table, the view, and setting permissions. My problem is how best to have clients enter information. We don't want them to see previous days' information, or to see other users' information. They should enter their data only. We have a few managers who will look all at the data and perform queries. Can I give the users' a form for this? I'd rather not have them open enterprise manager and navigate through those screens; this will create a whole slew of training issues.
If someone could point me in the right direction on this, and maybe suggest a good reference manual, I'd appreciate it.

Mar 14, 2007My god.All I want to do is post the contents of a web form to a database sql express 2005 or access using C#. Why can I find nothing for this very simple process online?Can you tell I am totally frustrated? So lets say i have a few text fields and I want to click submit and have that entered into a table. I use C# for code behind. So I can do basic C# programming and I can to webforms with visual web developer 2005 dragging and dropping for textboxs and a button to the aspx page. But then the mystery begins for me. How the hell do I simple post that form data to the table. I understand connection string basics. I aslo can design and create tables. But tying this all together is becoming a problem. I don't want to use gridview formview detailview or any of that canned UI stuff. I also don't understand VB and when I see VB examples they only cloud my already cloud ASP.NET world. Please help by posting examples, and maybe some links or books to add to my newbish collection. Feb 1, 2008Hi guys, I've been thinking about this problem now for some time but somehow I don't know if my "solution" for it is right. I'd like to read your opinion.
There is a Capital table with Capital_Nr, Capital_Name, Capital_Population, Country_Nr and Country_Name as attributes.
I know the table is chaotic so I brought it to 3NF :
Capital table : Capital_Nr, Capital_Name, Capital_Population, Country_Nr(foreign key)
Country table : Country_Nr and Country_Name
Ok so I guess the table should be now in 3NF, but what intrigues me is in what NF the table originally was. I tried then to use Codd's definition of 2NF : "a 1NF table is in 2NF if and only if none of its non-prime attributes are functionally dependent on a part (proper subset) of a candidate key". In my opinion the original candidate keys could only be {Capital_Nr},{Country_Nr} and {Country_Name}, each one of them single, i.e. separate from each other. So, as there is no composite candidate key, I can affirm that the original table was in 2NF. Am I right ?

Forms Authentication...Can It Really Be Done?
May 22, 2007I could really use help getting form authentication to work. I have a box with a web site and ReportingServices installed(which if I can get this working will be moved to the DMZ). The databases are on a different machine(which will on on our network).
I have been working with the sample provided with the install and this blog.

My problem is that I can logon and authenticate but when I call ListChildren() my System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials is empty so I get nothing back from the call.
I know that I have a valid cookie because after I logon I can use the Reports and the ReportServer URL's and go directly to those pages.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to make ListChildren() work? Do I still call ListChildren()? Documentation is scarce and would appreciate any help provided.
