I have some problem to need you all help. My problem is i have a Excel Worksheet with VBA coding, in VBA code it have modules,function and sub procedures. after that, i change the VBA coding in add-in file and save as .xla to make the user friendly.
But now, i need to use DTS to automatic to execute the excel file that contain VBA code every week. This is because the VBA in excel cannot automation excute by every week. So, i need use DTS to make it automation. The problem is i don't know how to use the DTS function to call the addin excel to execute? Which the connection and task compenent should i use? Or how do i paste the VBA code in DTS?
DTS is very new for me, are any help can provide me the solution? thanks

I have a microsoft report that uses a dll to calculate a value. If I hard code the value, my report shows it. My method in the dll is connecting to a database in order to calculate a result. However, in order to connect to the database, I am using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.
The error in my report is:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I have added a reference in the report to the EnterpriseLibrary but this has not made a difference.

Jan 23, 2006I have been reading up on everything I can find on this subject and I am not clear if this is allowed within the SQL Server 2005 CLR. My function calls work within a Windows form project, but don't run when invoked from a SQL function. I don't get any errors or warnings when creating the assembly and functions within SQL Server, but when running via a select statement, the spid just hangs and I have to stop & restart the service to kill the process. I have been investigating the security settings for this assembly, but I think I have that covered via the RunTime Security Policy settings in the .NET Framework 2.0 Configuration tool.
Any insights, knowledge, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have a problem to execute xp_cmdshell with a proxy user in MSSQL2005 (9.00.2047.00). The error is:
Msg 15121, Level 16, State 10, Procedure xp_cmdshell, Line 1
An error occurred during the execution of xp_cmdshell. A call to 'CreateProcessAsUser' failed with error code: '1314'.
The proxy user is a local administrator on the sql server machine. The proxy user have €śReplace a process level token€? rights thru the group SQLServer2005MSSQLUSer (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=627221&SiteId=1).
I have even tried to use a domain administrator as proxy user, but the same error occur.
What is wrong? I have search the internet a lot and found that many people have this problem without any answer.

How To Call AS400 Stored Proc And Evaluate The Return Code?
May 30, 2007I am trying to use SSIS to update an AS400 DB2 database by calling a stored procedure on the AS400 using an OLE DB command object. I have a select statement running against the SQL Server 2005 that brings back 20 values, all of which are character strings, and the output of this select is piped into the OLE DB command object. The call from SSIS works just fine to pass parameters into the AS400 as long as the stored procedure being called does not have an output parameter defined in its signature. There is no way that I can find to tell the OLE DB command object that one of the parameters is an output (or even an input / output) parameter. As soon as one of the parameters is changed to an output type, I get an error like this:

Aug 11, 2005I have a SQL Server Agent job with a step to execute an SSIS package. The package has as one of it's connection managers the Connection Manager For Excel Files. When I run the job it fails every time. I have implemented logging and in the OnError event it states "The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "LOBMappingExcel" failed with error code 0xC0202009".

Feb 17, 2006The package runs fine if I run it by itself. Unfortunately we want to call it from another package and when we do so it fails everytime with the following error; "AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "BPCSF" failed with error code 0xC0202009." This package is calling an AS400 and pulling data from it into a staging environment. The task that is failing is 4th task on the list and is the 3rd task to call the AS400 environment. If I need to provide more information I would be happy to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oct 9, 2007I can run this package in Studio and it works fine, but when I run it from SQL Server Agent, it throws this error. Does anybody know what would cause this problem. This appears to occur during validation for the package because none of the data flow steps run. The connection being used is the same connection used in all of the data flows. If validation is done in order, then prior steps using the same connection are passing validation.

I am getting the following error if I am using the package "Transaction Option=Required" while running through Sql Job:
The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "<connection name>" failed with error code 0xC0202009.
while I running the SSIS package on BI environment, I am getting the following error:
[Connection manager "<connection name>"] Error: The SSIS Runtime has failed to enlist the OLE DB connection in a distributed transaction with error 0x8004D00A "Unable to enlist in the transaction.".
I know the alternative solution is to make the "Transaction Option=Supported", but in my case I have run the whole flow in a single transaction. I came to know that this has been fixed in the service pack1(ref. to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914375). FYI.. some time it was running successful.
I have taken all the necessary step to run the SSIS package in a distributed transaction(like the steps for MSDTC) and also created the package flow in a sequence.
I was going through the link - http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=160340&SiteID=1 but all those didn't solve my problem.
If anyone can help me it will be great. or it is a bug in SSIS?

I am struggling with this error and it's starting to get to me!
I have setup a simple project with just a data flow task. In this task, it retrieves a simple record "Select * From Table1 WhereId=1". The connection is an OLE Db connection using Advantage Oledb Provider (a provider for accessing dBase). It is accessing a Novell network drive. I have setup the package to both "EncryptSensitiveWithPassword" and "DontSaveSensitive". Both times i have received this error.
The funny thing is, when I set the package to "EncryptSensitiveWithPassword" and I setup a job to run the package, it never asks me for the password even though I set one up! I have a previous package (few months ago I made) that accessed the same database on the same Network drive and it works! It also asks me for a password when I try to modify or run the package (b/c I set it to "EncryptW/Password").
Can anyone give any light into this problem?

Whereas I can pick the results for the first 6 columns from my Select query, the 'SLA Status' column requires the following calculation:

The Select statement in my query is looking like this...

The problem is that my query is returning multiple entries for each stage of the call (see below), whereas I just want one entry for each call, with SLA status 'Breach' if any of the stages for the call were out of SLA.

I have an EXCEL file in 2003 / 2007 version. It contains some data. I want to import the data using SSIS into SQL Server 2005 (x64) database table. I have taken "EXCEL FILE SOURCE" and "SQL Server DESTINATION". It was failed on importing data. Surprisingly it works fine in SQL Server 2005 (x32). Can you please explain why it is NOT woking on (x64) ?

This code was originally programmed in the SQL Server ActiveX Task type in a DTS package designed to take an open-ended number of SQL statements generated by another task as input, then execute each SQL statement sequentially. Upon this code's success, move on to the next step. (Of course, there was no additional documentation with this code. :-)

Error 30209: Option Strict On requires all variable declarations to have an 'As' clause.
I am new to Visual Basic, so I'm on a learning curve here. From what I know of this script:
- The variables here violate the new Option Strict On requirement in VS 2005 to declare what type of object your variable is supposed to use.
- I need to explicitly declare each object, unless I turn off the Option Strict On (which didn't seem recommended, based on what I read).

Table 2: Country
Fields --> Country Code, Country Name
Step 1 : I have created a Cube with these two tables using SSAS.
Step 2 : I have created a report in SSRS showing Address list.
The Column in the report are User Name, Address, Country Name
But I have no idea, how to convert this Country Code to Country name.
I am generating the report using the Layout tab. ( Data | Layout | Preview ) Report1.rdl [Design]
Anyone help me to solve this issue. Because, in our project most of the transaction tables have Code and Code description in master table. I need to convert all code into corresponding description in all my reports.

After I receive the message successfully...in the end I get this message sent...

Our guess is when the data size of User Events table is more it throws this error. If we try to transfer small subset of data it succeeds. What could be reason for this error?

Getting One SP To Call Other SPs
Jan 8, 2008I've written a T-SQL stored procedure that I want to call other stored procedures. The opening part of it looks like this:set ANSI_NULLS ONset QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ONGOALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[spArchive] @dtArchiveBefore DateTimeASEXEC spArchiveAHD @dtArchiveBeforeGOEXEC spArchiveContract_History @dtArchiveBeforeGOEXEC spArchiveContracts @dtArchiveBeforeGO But I'm getting this error repeatedly: Msg 137, Level 15, State 2, Line 2 Must declare the scalar variable "@dtArchiveBefore".I've searched for this term but can't figure out what's wrong with my code.Any ideas?Robert W.

Do you know when should I use extend sp to call a dll file, and when should I use sp_OACreate to call dll. It seems only dll created by C++ can be called from extend sp, how about VB created dll?

Call A SP From Another SP

I developed several SP that update tables
If I execute them one by one in the SQL Sever Management Studio, they work ok
Now,
I want to execute them all inside another SP
I wrote it (attached code)
Execute it and give me a message that runs successfully but that is not true
May anyone of You tell me the right syntax to do it?

I have 2 tables like that

student_name varchar (50) NULL ,
master_id int NULL

Now i want to create a Sp
which is
create proc inner_sp(@s1 varchar(50))
as
insert into tab1(master) values (@s1)
and i want to call it from another sp
create proc outer_sp2(@s2 varchar(50),@s1 varchar(50))
as
declare @r int
exec inner_sp @s1
set @r=Scope_Identity()
insert into tab2(student_name,master_id) values(@s2,@r)
exec outer_sp2 'Vivek1','Test'
But in table tab2 master_id column contain NULL value....
Please fix it...
