How To Connect Jsp File With Microsoft SQL Server

Can anyone please teach me how to make a connection between jsp file and Microsoft SQL Server database steps by steps?
I'm using Windows XP and I found that my computer do not have JDBC (I already have ODBC). Is this mean that I have to install some JDBC or SQL driver in order to make the connection? Which driver should I install and where can I get the driver?
If possible, please show me some example so that I can understand better..Thanks a lot.

hello,
I have a question about opening files in the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Studio.
In the old Query Analyzer from SQL 2000 I can open SQL Files via drag & drop (from explorer to QA) or open it with a double click in the explorer. Then the Files opened, if I had actual a connection to a server / database (QA is stared with one file and has a connection to Server/Datebase), with this connection.
Now in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Studio I'll be asked everytime for Server and have to get the database from the database list - it does not connect automaticly to server/database, that is actual connected (I have opened a file with the connection and a connected database in the object explorer).
Someone do not have this problem - but we found no option to set it up.
Any ideas?

this code worked well.
we know sql7 is not compatiable with vista. please tell us how to connect it wiith sql2005 . we downloaded orcas express edition beta. we created a database also. please let u know how to connect with Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 (.NET Framework Data Provider for Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5).

In VS 2005, when we choose database connection, we can choose one of the above. My question is in what situations should we choose MS SQL Server Database File (SqlClient), and when should we choose Microsoft SQL Server?
I want to deploy a standalone desktop application with a backend database. Which backend database should I should and which of the above connection should I choose?

I want to connect to company's SQL Server from home and to connect to home's SQL server from company remotely.
The new released SQL Server Web Data Administrator by Microsoft seems solving my issue.
I use it to connect to different SQL servers in different domains company wide successfully, but I failed to connect to home from company( I have static IP on the home server).
Also I want to know how to configure the sever name if I want to connect to company's SQL Server from home. The company SQL server is inside the firewall with a internal IP. How it works?
Any ideas?

I copied these T-SQL statements from a book and I do not know how to correct them.

I am having a problem with connecting to SQL Server 2005 database from Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 (the connection string i am using is: provider=SQLOLEDB;Data source=server_name; Initial catalog=database_name). But the connection failed. Would please any experts here shed me any light on what is the problem and how to fix it then? As there is no any forum for Office Business Scrorecard manager 2005. Therefore I post my thread here as it is related to the connection to SQL Server 2005 database engine, thought here is the best place for this question.

I have a vb 6 app that exports data from sql to excel. The user has the ability to select either local or server. When they select server, the connection string is modified to include the server name instead of the local msde instance to look like this:
"provider=sqloledb;data source=MyServer;initial catalog=MyDatabase;user id=UserX;password=PasswordX;database=MyDatabase"
I'm using Microsoft Jet Provider 4.0 and OpenDataSource.

This code works fine when user is accessing msde on local, but when using above DSN, I receive the following message:
"2147217900 - OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEdB.4.0' IDBInitialize:: Initialize returned 0x800040005: The provider did not give any information about the error.]
When I trace the connection, these error messages occur:

I am especially puzzled by the second message because I am specifying the database name in my connection string as:
"provider=sqloledb;data source=MyServer;initial catalog=MyDatabase;user id=UserX;password=PasswordX;database=MyDatabase"
I can read from the server copy and copy to Excel, but I cannot write back to SQL. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I don't know how many folks here log into the Microsoft Connect site occasionally to check suggestions and bugs submitted to Microsoft for SQL Server and SSIS (still called DTS on their list). A small pecentage? Almost everyone? (Possibly in this group.) Anyone can vote for feedback they think is important. Theoretically issues with the most votes will get Microsoft's attention first.

MOM connects to 19 instances without issue and fails on one (1). The failing instance resides on a server with two(2) other instances that do not fail. Security is setup the same on windows and sqlserver.
Receiving error in MOM:
"Could not connect using SQLDMO to SQL Instance WEB. However, the instance is currently running."
Presents in Event Viewer as:
"18452: Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."
Troubleshooting so far:
Created simple SqlDMO VBScript that uses a trusted connection. This works fine from my desktop to all twenty (20) instances yet fails on the one server that MOM is running on.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I am a beginner on using SQL Server Express. I have two different questions. Here is the first:
I've developed a simple C# application in Visual Studio 2005 that connects to a SQL Server database file. In the application I connect to the database using this connection string:
@"Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:Databasesmydatabas.mdf ;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True";
and It works perfect.
But when I move the database file(and the corresponding log-file) to another computer it fails. I've changed the connection string to this
@"Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=\myserverDatabasesmydatabase.mdf ;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True";
This is the error message I get when I try to open the database
The file \myserverDatabasesmyDatabase.mdf is on a network path that is not supported for database files.An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file \myServerDatabasesmyDatabase.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
Both computer runs Windows XP SP2.
My second question is:
When I deployed my solution to my production PC(witch also runs Windows XP SP2, .NET Framwork 2.0 is installed on the computer) .When I then tried to run the application I did get this error message
An error has occured when establishing a connection to the server. When connection to a SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remomte conections.....
Appearently I cant treat SQL Server database files in the same way as Access-files, or?

I'm trying to install Microsoft Dynamics 10.0 with SQL 2008 Dev but when launching the utilities this returns the following error message:

Hello, we have the hosting account with GoDaddy Server. We have using Visualstudio.net and MSSSQL Server 2005.
For hosting the files for the remote server ( Godaddy ) we are using FTP Cute client to upload the files. For Uploading a database they given a seperate login and we are hosted my data as a Transact SQL File. Up to this its going fine.
After that I want to retrieve my data from GoDaddy Database server. They are not allow the remote connections directly. But they told to use the File DSN to retrieve the data from thier server ( GoDaddy Server ). I don't Know how to use thier File DSN to connect My ASP.Net 2.0 Application to thier GoDaddy Database Server.
If I asked to GoDaddy Support team they are sending this file.

I have a query that executes just fine except that it won't recognize varchar(255) ( or any other value within the () ) and if I leave it off like this: varchar, then it executes but it leaves that value as 1 and that is just not very useful for my purposes. This also happens with anything else that requires () to add length such as char(), or nvarchar(), etc... Any ideas?

I keep getting this when trying to copy stored procs from one db to another on the same server. I am using the DTS wizard. I have been able to copy the tables but I need the sp's too, and there are too many to copy one at a time.

Does anyone know how to do file I/O in T-SQL. When I say that I mean, I would like to get information from a '.dat' file, parse through it, grab information, then store the information in a database.(also what are the limitations if any to file i/o manipulation in T-SQL) After that is done I need to rename the '.dat' file, and cut and then paste it into an archive directory. Before I say fuck it and do it in C++, is it possible to do this in T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server 2000).

Hi everybody,
I have designed a DTS package which will migrate a view from Sqlserver 2000 to Oracle.My package is using Microsoft OLEDB provider for Oracle driver for connecting to oracle.Im able to execute this package on the my system ie on the system where sqlclient is installed(Oracle client is also installed on my machine) .But when im doing it on the server im not able to do it.The Connection to Oracle Fails.
I wanted to know in order to connect to Oracle from the server,is it necessary that Oracle has to be installed on the server?.If yes, is it enough if i install oracle client on the server or Oracle Server version has to be installed on Server.
Please suggest me wht should i do know?
