How To Get A Report To Show A Mismatch In System And DNS Names

I am new to SQL programming and I am trying to figure out how to get a report to show a mismatch in System Names & DNS Names. Both of the columns are in a table called nodes.
System Name router-1-dc and the DNS would be router-1-dc.domain I am trying to find Nodes that don't match to the "." prior to the domain example for this would be System Name "router-1-datacenter" and DNS Name "router-1-dc.domain" I would want this example to show on the report page.
Here is the SQL Query I built however it does not appear to be working as I need it too.

I can't seem to find a sample code, either here or on the net - - so I'll go ahead and ask...
What I'm looking for is a sample of how to query a database, so that I can populate a listbox with the table names from a database - - and then, populate another listobx with the field names from the database, in order to build a user-driven sql statement builder....
either of the above (at least the field name part) - either a code sample, or a link, will be greatly appreciated) - -
I am facing an issue in MDX Query. I have a custom MDX query, When I run the query I am getting results too. Now my requirement is to show the dimension names in the query result, So that I can get those header names in the cell set itself. Please see the below image.
In this image I need to show 'Fiscal Year' and 'Fiscal Quarter' in that highlighted area. Is there any custom query for this?
I'm very new to report builder and I don't even know if this is possible. Some of my users have asked if they can build an ad-hoc report to show say top 50 annual salaries. This has to be done soley with whatever report builder has for building ad-hoc reports as that's all the users have access to.
I'm using SQL Server 2012 and was attempting to move the msdb, model, and tempdb databases to a new location and accidentally gave their log files an mdf extension instead of ldf when providing the new pathfilename. After the server wouldn't start I checked my script and noticed my error. I have good backups of my system databases, so I was hoping to start the MSSQLSERVER service in single-user mode (using the -m startup parameter) and then just restore master using sqlcmd.
Unfortunately the service was starting but I couldn't connect via sqlcmd using any of the three protocols (it said the server was not found or not accessible each time). I also tried using the dedicated Admin connection but I got the same error. Then I went into the Templates folder and copied the master, msdb, model, and tempdb templates into the DATA folder and tried to restart SQL Server but still no luck (now the MSSQLSERVER service won't start at all). Is there an easy way to fix this mess without having to reinstall from the setup application?

We have a report published to two report servers ( same configuration). this report displays data in two side by side tables. on server 1, the left side table does not get displayed where as both the tables show fine on server 2.
Since a week we have a strange problem. We are using SQL Server 2005 with SP2 on a Windows Server 2003 updated last time in November. We have 2 servers like this, one is a virtual machine and the second one, a physical one.
Since a week, sometimes, the reports in the web report viewer just don't show. They keep loading for hours without showing anything. Beside, everything's fine, the server has plenty of free resources (CPU, RAM...), Visual Studio works normally, SSMS too. We can even go in http://localhost/reports and http://localhost/reportserver and see the folders, files etc... but when trying to load a report (what ever it is, even a small one) nothing comes, not even the message "Report is loading".
It happens not every day, sometimes two or three times a day at different hours. In the Windows event viewer, nothing. In the SSRS logs, nothing (as far as I can understand these logs).
It looks as if a job or a process was running and was blocking the reports or a service which would stop automatically. To have it work again, a reboot of the server works or within 2 or 3 hours, it comes back to normal state.
If someone has an idea of what can be the problem or some tips, please feel free because we are running out of ideas.
How to display sql compute sum command their result in amount and qty in report?

I've designed a report and assigned it a datasource that binds with a SP with a parameter. In the XML code of the dataset I can see the input parameter has been recognised by the wizard. Then, I built a report with that Dataset as the source. Everything is fine till this time. Now through my aspx code I pass on the value of the parameter to the report. But the report doesn't show any values at all. The aspx code is like

I have two seperate reports that have parameter clientkey in common. I want to show on one report these 2..first the one, then the 2nd below it. I've tried jsut using 2 tables but they overlap. I'm now trying a subreport, but I'm not sure how to do this or even if it is the right method.
I'm currently investigating whether SQL Reporting Services might be the right solution to some reporting requirements I have been given (web reports).
There is a requirement that some of the columns are hidden to begin with and can be shown by clicking on the header of one of the other columns. E.g. There is a list of clients and a "Total Revenue" column, clicking on the "Total Revenue" column header would show an additional 5 or so columns which show a breakdown of different figures that make up the total revenue.
So my question is this: Is it possible to show/hide columns by clicking on the headers of other columns in the report?
I was curious to know if there is a way to create a report that will show when the last time all reports on our server were run. We have a lot of reports on our server made by multiple people that may or may not be in use anymore and we're trying to clean this up a bit. I am currently running SQL Server 2000. I realize there is a history that each report has and I'm wondering if it's possible to pull from that if it is stored somewhere that is accessible. Any help or direction would be much appreciated as I am not even sure where to start.....
I am having two datasets in the same report, the column names are the same, in both the datasets, Now How can I use the individual fields in same report. If I use (Fields!xyz.Value, "dsDataSet1") and (Fields!xyz.Value, "dsDataSet2") It is giving me syntax error.
How can I use both these fieds, I do not want any aggregates
I have many lookup tables in my report model. I have tried renaming these fields to more accurately represent the attributes meaning to the end user but I'm having trouble with it.
Here's an example:
I have a table which contains two fields; OfficalGrade and SpecifiedGrade. Both are FK integer values pointing to a Grades lookup table with GradeID as the PK.
In the report builder, the official grade and specified grade fields are both being displayed as GradeID so it's impossible for the user to tell which is which.
In the report model, the Grades Entity has a role for Offical Grade and another for Specified Grade. I've checked both of their properties but I cannot find a setting which will allow me rename the value that is available to the end user.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice on fixing this! John
Dataset "FromTimeDimension" is a report parameter and has values (yyyymm)= 200601,200602,200603,2000604....... I would like to always have the default for this parameter to always be the latest month...ie November is the most recent month in our cube, so I would want the parameter to default to "200611". However, when I try to use the "last" function, the error says that aggregate function cannot be used.
Hi, I am new to SSRS. Is there a way to show part of a report based on User. Say we have a report consisting data for all department. When a department director view it, the report only display data for his/her department. Can this be achieved in SSRS? Thank you in advance for your help.
I've read posts that state it is impossible to remove the "Show Details" button on the tool bar in Report Manager.
I created a new role assignment for an individual on a folder with the "Browse" role only.
When that individual navigates to the folder and clicks the "Show Details" button, the "Delete" and "Move" buttons also appear on the tool bar, with a checkbox next to each report item.
I can't have a folder where my users have the ability to delete or move my published reports!
Am I missing a setting? Again, the user has the "Browse" role only on the folder.
I created a report with a parameter. The parameter was created using a dataset in the report designer. This works fine. I deployed the report (webhost4life) and the report runs fine in the report manager. I am able to select my casenumber click on the default view report button and it works.
Problem: I embedd the report into an aspx page frmReports1.aspx. I call this page from another page (form). the frmReports.aspx page comes up and displays the default drop down list box with the casenumbers (fine). I select the casenumber and click on the view report button and NOTHING. I here the postbacks taking place but all that happens is the default value appears in the drop down list box and the toolbar shows. I checked permissions and everything is fine. I searched the forum and thought i found the solution with the inLine HTML and Async (still nothing) I can only think that something is not going right with the parameter. Here's my problem. I have a subreport that shows data and labels if data is returned. However, if no data is returned, the subreport doesn't show at all. I have a message on the subreport I would like to show if no data is returned, but the subreport won't show at all. Any ideas??

When I open Report Builder I do not see any of the models that I've created. The "Select Site or Server" is blank and I cannot get to any of the models. I can't change the dropdown from "Recent Sites and Servers."
I am not sure what I did, because it used to work. I did install SP2 but that did not cause a problem originally.
I can create new models (on both the BIDS and the ReportServer site) and I see that they were created just not in Report Builder. At this point Report Builder is non-functional for me.
The other thing that may be related is that I've never been able to run Report Builder from the website. When I click the button nothing happens. I made a shortcut to ReportBuilder.exe to get around this.
Hi! I've created a report in Report Builder, based on a query. When I run the report in Report Builder, it doesn't show the duplicates rows, even if it works fine in Data source view.

I am building reports against our TFS development db. One of the reports tracks days spent (Dwell Time) in various status categories (eg: New, Assigned, In Development, Hold, etc) for a given "ticket". For a fixed list of values from {Work Item].System_State, I can send the results (days in Assigned) to the column named (Assigned) for each status for each event in the [Work Item History], and then sum them for each ticket as: Ticket ID New Assigned InDev etc 1230001 2 0 0 ... 1230001 0 1 2 ....
SUM 2 1 2 .... However, I have many different Projects, each of which use their own Status names. I don't want to duplicate the same basic report, if I can avoid it.
How can I name and generate this data for the unique Status list for each Project?
Simplest analog is: name = First(Fields!Status.Value, "TFSdb") and allows value for a column name (category) as: =IIF(Fields!Status.Value = First(Fields!Status.Value, "TFSdb"), Fields!Days.Value, 0) However this fails beause: 1. It only delivers the FIRST status value, and, 2. I cannot SUM an expression which is itself an aggregate (using First).
I want to retrive the column names from an existing report. The report is deployed on the report server and i want to write a code which will list all the column names of the reports along with the properties.

I am wondering if anyone knows how to change the sheet names in Excel when exporting a report from Reporting Services 2005. In other words, I have a report with approximately 5 page breaks built in. When I render the report to Excel, it creates the 5 sheets as I expect, but it names them "Sheet1", "Sheet2", "Sheet3" etc... Is there a way to specify the name of the sheets? I am currently using a different table in my report for each sheet, but I am open to structuring this differently if needed.
