I have a database that has SQL 2000 as the engine and Access 2003 on the front end, we scan our documents and hyperlink them through Access, the address is stored in SQL Server but we are wanting to move SQL, the scanned documents along witht he ADP over to a different server so instead of the files linking to \gcfso1 they will link to \gcfsql. is there a way to update the address link in SqL to link to \gcfsql as an update view rather then relinking them by hand????

Hello, Im running into some frustrations with the Jump to Hyperlink feature in SSRS. I have a report containing hyperlinks to a URL. Just to keep it simple for now, Ive made that URL http://www.google.com.
Below is the javascript Im using as my expression value to create the hyperlink on the report:
The hyperlink works fine when its parent report is not loaded into a frame; a new browser window opens and loads up Google as expected. But as soon as the parent report is loaded into a frame, the hyperlink doesnt respond at all. I click, and the page just sits there, no error message, nothing. Ive combed quite a few posts and cant come up with any thing that works other than to remove the parent report from the frame and load it into its own browser window. Unfortunately I have to make this work in a frame, because the entire website hinges on this design.
Any ideas as to why the report hyperlinks just seem to go dead when called from a report that resides inside a frame?
Hi, We are having a problem with the Excel renderer that comes with RS2005, It doesn't have an option to OmitHyperlinks so when we export files they come out over 20x the size they should be. So what I'm trying to do is write a Custom Renderer that will take in the Report Object, and Strip out the hyperlinks, then pass it on to the RS ExcelRenderer, but I ran into a little problem.
I'm looping through the ReportItems, and trying to clear out all the Hyperlinks but I keep getting this exception:
Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.
This is the part of the code thats throwing up the exception.
Recently we upgraded to SSRS-2008 R2 from SSRS-2008 (enterprise edition) and noticed that all the underlines for hyper-links in all reports are missing. Also the font color has reset back to default color (had set to blue to indicate a hyperlink).
Redeployed the same report from VS-2008 SP1 but no luck. Although the formatting (color + underline) looks ok in the preview mode in VS.if there's any workarounds as many end users are getting confued with this change.
I am trying to replace names found in 'xml' field name as hyperlinks, by matching with the names in database_tags.I am using the following function below, however the UDF is only recognizing one name from the XML fieldname data, instead of all the names present in the XML data.

Hi I have a gridview with a sql data source and a few drop down lists where i choose values to sorth what i would like to retrive from the table. The problem im facing is that when i pass values to the database, i can sort out and retrive my items when both my listboxes have selected values. But when i want to select everything from the table where the column = clumn or cloumn = value i dont get anything back. I have 2 dropdown lists. One for category and one for location. These are populated drom the database by selecting the column and retriving destinct values. I have a function that fires when one of the dropdown lists are changed witch changes the sql datasource select value so it retrives items sorted by the selected categories and locations. And if one of the lists has this selected and ther other one has a value, say a location or something nothing is retrived either. However if both columns have something selected i do get values returned. My speculation is that the query beeing run when this happens is that it is trying to find columns having the value ARTTYP or PLATS (category or location), as a string and actually seeing it as Im trying to retrive values where column = column. Any suggestions on how i can make my query run as intended or is there another problem Im not seeing.

When I execute select * from test1...COUNTRY I get the error. "The OLE DB provider "MSDAORA" for linked server "...." does not contain the table "COUNTRY". The table either does not exist or the current user does not have permissions on that table." The 'sp' user I am connecting is the owner of the table. What could be the problem ? Thanks a lot.

I am having a table called as status ,in that table one field is there i.e. currentstatus. the rows which are having currentstatus as "ticket closed",i want to move those rows into other table called repository which is having same table structure as status table. I'm inserting from TempAccrual to VacationAccrual . It works nicely, however if I run this script again it will insert the same values again in VacationAccrual. How do I block that? IF there is a small change in one of the column in TempAccrual then allow insert. Here is my query

But, I have these dbo.Tables in a different Database "xyzDatabase". How can I copy each of these dbo.Tables to the another blank dbo.Table of Northwind Database?
I right clicked on the dbo.Categories and I saw the following thing: dbo.Categories New Table... Modify Open Table Script Table as |> CREATYE To |> DROP To |> SELECT To |> INSERT To |> New Query Editor Window File.... Clipboard UPDATE To |> DELETE to |> From the above observation,I think it is possible to copy the dbo.Table from the one Database to the Northwind Database that needs to be repaired. Please help and advise me how to do this task or tell me where I can find the Microsoft document that gives the details of this X-copy thing.

Yes what I€™ve been doing is to deactivate the foreign key constraint, in both tables when performing these kinds of operations, same thing if I try to delete a €œBranch€? entry, basically each entry in €œbranch€? and €œEmployee€? is child of each other which makes things more complicated.
My question is, is there a simple way to overcome this obstacle without having to deactivate the foreign key constraints every time or a good way to prevent this from happening in the first place? Is this when I have to use €œON DELETE CASCADE€? or something?

I have a column defined as smalldatetime. Default length (4), and "allow NULLS" is checked.In the Enterprise Manager UI, when i enter data into that table row, if i just tab past that column, all is well, and the value is represented in the UI as <NULL>.The problem comes once i ever enter a date into that column. Say i have entered a date (all is well), and now i want to remove that entry and go back to NULL (after the date value has been committed, different entry session, say).How is that done?It seems to me, once a date has ever been entered into that column, now, if i try to remove it, i get the error "The value you entered is not consistant with the data type or length of the column, or over grid buffer limit". I have tried deleting the value, entering spaces, entering the string NULL or the string <NULL>; maybe some other tries as well, but none works, i always get that error message and am not allowed to proceed past that cell until i restore a date value to it. I want to get back to <NULL>.Anybody know?Thank you.Tom
I am stuck on finding a solution to transpose source data from a system via a metadata look-up table into a destination table. I need a method to transpose/pivot the source data into columns (which are by various data-types). The datatypes for each column are listed in a metadata table.
