I am new to sql server. right now i getting used to management studio.I am trying to creata a new object / a new database but i am getting an error which says permission not granted

There's something I can't quite figure out about user creating
The application that I'm currently working on is interacting with DB, therefore every time you use application you need to login as user which is fine. The problem is that certain users should be able to create new users and the new user may even have the same level of permissions as the one that's creating it ( like admin creating another admin acount or some like that).
Question is how can I allow users to create these user with giving them as few permissions as possible.
If there's is somewhere a code sample on the net I would appreciate the link.
Can somebody tell me without pointing to any other link how to grant Create Procedure permission to DB user.
I have a new instance (SQL 2012) and I am trying to create a cube but it retrieves the error: Either the 'NameUser' user does not have permission to create a new object in 'NameServer' or the object does not exist. I am not the DBA but I got privilege as administrator in my instance. I even checked the propierties (right click on the analysis service instance) and in security there is my name as well..

I have an application that uses Integrated Windows authentication. My Web.config looks like below

When users try to access my application, they get the below error:
Execute permission denied on object 'SprocName', database 'DBNAME',Owner,'dbo'
The Only way I could get rid off the error is if I set DBO permissions for the user group on the databse.
Can someone suggest how to set up a security group with the ‘necessary’ permissions on SQL SERVER (ie read,write execute Sproc etc) and not too many extra ones, like DBO.

I newly created one database (using creat database testdb ). After that i created login name and password for that database ( using create login login1 with password = 'pass1'; use testdb; command) and i created user for that login name ( using create user user1 for login login1 command).
Then i connected testdb database using login1. But when i trying to create table in that database, it thrown error. Anyone please tell me that how to assign all privileges to the user user1?

I get this error:
Incorrect syntax near 'EXECUTE...'.

I had been using the trial edition of SQL Server 2000.I only get it with stored procedures.I solved my problem by giving the ASPNET login "db_owner" privs, which I didn't need to with the trial edition and is not best practice from a security angle.I login under the Windows based admin account. (not using mixed mode).Hope someone can shed some light.Thanks.

On our production SQL 2005 servers I want to give developers readonly access to each user database and also give them the ability to see stored procedures. Readonly is handled through db_datareader, but how do I give them the ability to see stored procedures without granting permission to execute them?

The requirements are:
1. the user has read-only permissions to dbo tales.
2. the user can do everything within the rpt schema, which contains all objects analyzing dbo tables.
3. the user does not have any permission outside rpt schema, except permissions in #1.
The current solutions are:
1. grant the user select only on dbo tables.
2. make the user the owner of rpt schema.
3. Grant the user database permission on create table/create procedure/create view/create function.
My question is - in step 3, should I just grant "Alter" database permission to the user? Granting Alter seems to be cleaner and simpler. According to MSDN,
"Alter" confers the ability to change the properties, except ownership, of a particular securable. When granted on a scope, ALTER also bestows the ability to alter, create, or drop any securable that is contained within that scope.

In my asp.net application i build connection string using above account and its password . We give permission on store procedure for for the above account to execute .We dont give table level permission for the above account . When we run the application with the above settings it runs fine on test server . However Now i have transfered the databse object to live server with its permissions . Now while I executing the aspx page , I am getting above error . I have checked that the store procedure has execute permission for webuser account and dbo(i.e SA) has all the permissions for all database objects . Still why i am getting error ? (Please note , the thing is working fine in test server)

I have currently a problem with setting up the permissions for some developers. My configuration looks like this.
DB A is the productive database.
DB B is a kind of "development" database.
Now we have a couple of users call them BOB, DAVID, ...
who are members of the db role db_reader and db_writer for the productive db a but they should be allowed to do nearly everything on db b.
Therefor I added them to the db role db_owner for db b.
For testing purposes I tried to "CREATE" a view TEST as BOB in database B but I received the error message
'Msg 262, Level 14, State 1, Procedure Test, Line 3
CREATE VIEW permission denied in database 'b'.'
I cross checked the permissions on db level and I even granted all available permissions on db level but nevertheless I receive this error message.
What's my mistake?
Of course it worked fine when I give them sysadmin rights but then they have far too much permissions.

Just installed VS 2005 & SQLServer 2005 clients on my workstation. When trying to create a new Integration Services Project and start work in the designer receive the MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' dialog box with message "Creating project 'Integration Services project1'...project creation failed."
Previously I had SQLServer 2000 client with the little VS tool that came with it installed. Uninstalled these prior to installing the 2005 tools (VS and SQLServer).
I'm not finding any information on corrective action for this error.
Any one have this problem and found the solution?

I've seen a few posts about this problem here but, apparently my case is a bit different :
I keep having this error :SELECT permission denied on object 'myTable', database 'myDB, owner
'thisUser', when I try to test my project from Visual Studio 2003 using Ctrl + F5
But
1) I use SQL authentication, and the connection seems to work fine (connections string : "Server=localhost;Database=myDB;User ID=thisUser;Password=hisPwd;Trusted_Connection=False")
2) I've granted thisUser all the possible rights & roles (just to see if something would work).
3) When I check the permissions on thisTable, thisUser has green ok marks everywhere.
So I don't understand what's going on. Can anybody help me on that ?

I have a few questions about SQL 7.0 user permission.
(1) Is there any way that a DB user (not sa) can create a table whose owner
is dbo? I tried to set the user as a member of db_owner, but the table still had the user's name instead of dbo.
(2) What does it mean to have the sysusers.isaliased column with value 1 for a DB user? Such username always shows up with prefix "". How can I set a DB user this way?
Any suggestion is appreciated!
