The package throws an error below. I tried to disable my antivirus because i thought it's throwing an error because of the antivirus.
But, it's still throwing the same error. If i tried to send email without attachment, it works just fine.
Is there anybody know how to fix this?

Is there a way to export query results to an excel fie and add that file as an attachment in the email? All this has to be done using SQL query and it needs to be automated. My coworker tried using Openrowset and BCP, but it is not working.

When I do that, I get the message that the file doen't exist. How is it possible to specify a variable as the attachment?

I have tried different events to be logged on the Details-tab on Configure SSIS Logs, but I don't get the information that I want.
I also want to send this log-file as an attachment in a couple of Send Mail task in the same package. But then I get this error:
Error at Mail Error [Send Mail Task]: Either the file "filename.txt" does not exist or you do not have permissions to access the file.
The file does exist and there is no permission problem because I don't get this error when I remove logging.
Isn't it possible to do this in SSIS-packages?
It works in DTS-packages.

Hiii,
I am delivering report in Excel format every Monday. I am also including link with that email.
sometime, it delivers excel sheet correct and sometime it just gives blank sheet in attachment and the strange thing is that We can see data through the included link, but not in excel attachment.
Any idea??
If any of you passed through this problem plzzz help me out...
I have a C# program that sends an e-mail with an Excel attachment. The Excel file is populated with the results of a SQL stored procedure before the e-mail program is executed. The entire process is in a DTS package (populate a temporary table, export the table to Excel, then send the e-mail). It is possible that the stored procedure will return no results, in which case the Excel file will not be populated.I'd like to know whether it is possible (and if so, how) to add some code to my e-mail program that will count the number of populated rows in the Excel file and if that number is <2 (the header row will always be populated), to quit and not send the e-mail.
An alternative would be for the DTS package to terminate if the stored procedure returns 0 records.
Thanks!
I wanted to implement the feature to send the email in HTML format from SQL. Which option will be more easy and less resource consumption? Like

Except that now I am trying to connect and update to an Microsoft SQL Server Database File (SqlClient) via VB 2008 Express; specifically a table called €œHexMap€? that contains some columns that I am ready to insert some row data into. Here is what my program should do:
As I hover over a hexagon map of the US a red flickering hexagon follows the location of my mouse cursor. If I click on a given hexagon, the program draws a permanent blue hexagon, and sends a new set of row data into my database. Such information as the name of the state, row, column, center x, and center y, etc. Here is a quick snapshot of this program in action:

-sorry, I didn't capture the mouse cursor inside the red hexagon
I think I am missing something since I appear to be able to connect successfully to the database table. Unfortunately, I never see the changes in the database, when I try to Show Table Data (via Database Explorer). I am hoping someone will review my code snippet (below) and tell me what I am missing. What happens when I run this code is that it acts like it works just fine, except that I have no indication that any changes were actually affected.

Hi All
I've been googling this for a while now and can't seem to find any elegant answers.
I'm looking for an automated way to present a FORMATED Excel Spreadsheet to the Customer from a stored procedure output.
Can anyone advise me the best method of doing this - should I / can I assign an Excel Template to the DTS Task output ?
His mind is set on Excel and the formatting is basic and easy to write in a Macro which I've done, but this requires human interaction to finish the task (Automated Run Once on opening etc).
In an ideal world an individual would send an email to the Server with two formated parameters (@FromDate & @ToDate) and would be emailed back a ready formatted S/Sheet. But I believe he would be willing to just select the relevant SpreadSheet for the Daily / Weekly / Monthly periods dumped.
Thanks
GW

As the topic suggests I need the end results to show a list of shows and their dates ordered by date DESC.
Tables I have are structured as follows:
SHOWS
showID
showTitle
SHOWACCESS
showID
remoteID
VIDEOS
videoDate
showID
SQL is as follows:
SELECT shows.showID AS showID, shows.showTitle AS showTitle,
(SELECT MAX(videos.videoFilmDate) AS vidDate FROM videos WHERE videos.showID = shows.showID)
FROM shows, showAccess
WHERE shows.showID = showAccess.showID
AND showAccess.remoteID=21
ORDER BY vidDate DESC;
I had it ordering by showTitle and it worked fine, but I need it to order by vidDate.
Can anyone shed some light on where I am going wrong?
thanks
We are experiencing failures when accessing a datatype="Attachments" field in a query in an MS Access 2007 database using ACE ODBC or OLEDB drivers.
We are using an MS Access 2007 database
ACE ODBC/OLEDB drivers installed (i.e. Office 2007, which installs these drivers)
DB contains a table with a field of type "Attachments" (which is new in MS Access 2007)
DB contains a query that selects the fields of the above table
Using ACE ODBC or ACE OLEDB drivers to display the table works fine. The "Attachments" field is displayed as the file name of the attachment(s).
However, using either ACE ODBC or ACE OLEDB to display the query (i.e. NOT the table) results in either incorrect results or unexpected failures of the ODBC/OLEDB drivers.
Error using ODBC (using "ODBC Test"):
=============================
select * from Query1 does not give an error, but displays a "1" for the Attachment field.
select Attachments from Query1 gives the following error:
stmt: szSqlState = "HY000", *pfNativeError = -3087, *pcbErrorMsg = 97,
*ColumnNumber = -2, *RowNumber = -2
MessageText = "[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Reserved error (|);
there is no message for this error."
Error using OLEDB (using "RowSetViewer"):
================================
select * from Query1 gives the following error:
Interface: Unknown
Result: 0x0004001 = E_NOTIMPL
FormatMessage: €œNot implemented
File: F:DepotSQLVaultmdac28sdkSamplesoledb
owsetviewerSDKobji386CRowset.cpp
Line: 616
select Attachments from Query1 gives the following error:
Interface: IID_ICommand
Result: 0x0004005 = E_FAIL
IErrorInfo: [0x0000f3f1] €œUnspecified error€?
File: F:DepotSQLVaultmdac28sdkSamplesoledb
owsetviewerSDKobji386CCommand.cpp
Line: 439
If it would help to analyze the problem, I have a folder containing all pertinent files (bare-bone database, tools, instructions) to reproduce this. I could attach it as a ZIP file, if requested.
Thanks,
Joe

I know that the Microsoft Technologies can write Excel files and then load them, but I'm looking to take an existing workbook, parameterize the SQL statement and pass parameters via the Querystring/Form Post to it.
Why you may ask? For existing PivotTables/Charts that can be filtered BEFORE they are run.
