I have a table and in one column is a html file. I need to to be able query some text that is inside this html file.
What is the best way to take this html file and add the text of the document into another column in the same table?

I was thinking along the Charindex but cant seem to get it right.
I am retrieving a field from SQL and displaying that data on a web page.
The data contains a mixture of text and html codes, like this "<b>test</b>".
But rather than displaying the word test in bold, it is displaying the entire sting as text.
How do I get it to treat the HTML as HTML?

I installed and configured SQL Server 2005 reporting services. When I try to connect to it using SQL Server Management Studio, I get the following error:

Hi,
I am getting these errors from Report Manager. It seems that every time after the server has been idling for about 15 minutes, I would get this error message. I can click on other links and I am able to continue to use Report Manager.
Is there a timeout setting to help me resolve this or is this a bug with Report Manager? I just insitalled SP2 on the SQL Server and the Reporting Service.

I have a text object on my crystal report, to which I programmatically want to assign text in CS. It all works fine, except that if I have html tags in there, the text doesn't get formatted, it just displays the html tags as text as well.
Now in thread linked above, the answer was: right click the text object, and format the text object, hit paragraph text and select text interpretation to HTML. The only problem is, that for a text object, it doesn't have the text interpretation option. It's only an option for a formula field. It says so in the tech support link posted inside the post itself!!!
So if you have any idea how I can do this, please someone help me out. I am new to crystal, and there's not much helpful info on it online. I've searched for this for hours, and no solution.

Hi all. Iv'e tryed out xp_smtp_sendmail, and I like what I can see sofar. The thing I wonder about is if the xp supports sending both htmlAND plain text in the same mail. I'm on a sql2000 sp3 and I have noproblem with the xp when i either send plain text or html, but asstated above I need to send with both formats in one mail......For use when one does not know if the receiver uses a mail-client thatsupports html or not. I am having difficulty in indexing a Table when it contains a PDF file in an Image column. Basically I have a table with a unique id, some other fields, and an Image column. The Image column contains uploaded files from a web application. Full-text indexing works fine for all types of files that I have uploaded into this table which includes (.doc, .xls, .ppt) but I get the following message in my Event Viewer if one of thee files is a PDF file.
One or more documents stored in the Image columns with extension '.pdf' did not get full-text indexed because loading the filter failed with error '1x01'.
I have searched Microsoft's site and implemented their prescribed fixes but none has worked including installation of SP3 of Sql Server and/or modifying the registry key to run the Sql server indexing procedure as a single threaded process.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Please help.

After mapping all the columns except identity column, when I execute, the package failing saying

I would like to read from a Text File using SSIS Integration Package.
The file has a fixed number of columns, let's say 3 columns.
There is no row header and each columns length is fixed. There is no delimiter as well.
Here is the sample of the file contents:
John Doe USA
Mary Monroe UK
Andy Archibald Singapore
Here is the hints to read the file contents

If you notice, from the 1st column until the 9th column, it's reserved for the first name.
The 10-th column until the 19th column, it's reserved for the last name. Finally the 20-th column until the 29th column is reserved for the Origin Country.
Since there's no delimiter inside the flat file contents, i have difficulty in parsing this text using SSIS Package.
Please let me know if you need any necessary information.

I just want to know how to search text/record inside the Html files. I had one column in my database named ��Path�� I saved the html file names in this column and the physical files in a folder. Full Text search is enabled on this column. Whenever I try to search it returns nothing.

I have created a DTS package that pulls data from one column (varchar,600) in a table and exports it to a text file. The max length in this field is only 285 characters long, however, the end of one of the records is being truncated in the text file. Data is tab delimited in the table and is being exported that way.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I have the misfortune of converting a DTS package to SSIS that loads a flat file that has a text fields that can contain embedded text delimiters ("), column delimiters (,) and even new lines (CR+LF i.e.,hex 0D 0A) in it. A sample line from the file is posted here, remember this is just one line though it shows as three lines, since the third field has embedded new line in it:

Now, SSIS errors on the embedded text delimiters and breaks into two or three lines based on which option I chose. I have tried few options based on postings in the forum:
a). Using undouble and undoubleout: Does not work when there are embedded column delimiters (,) in the text field
b). Modified undouble script posted by lvovg at http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1718225&SiteID=1. Handles the embedded column delimiters (,) perfectly, but the embedded new lines (CR+LF i.e.,hex 0D 0A) are breaking it.
Since, I am using the ragged right format to read from the file then use transform script on the line by lvovg, the line is already broken by the ragged right format at the embedded new lines, hence does not work.
Right now I am stuck. Can someone please help (anyone from MS) ? I am already baffled at the amount of coding required to convert a very basic ( and working ) flat file load DTS package to SSIS. I am willing to persist bit longer to convert this to SSIS, before I give up and stick with DTS and wait for a fix / workaround.

I am doing a matrix report. in this report the matrix can extend to either 1 day or it can extend to 28 days depending upon the range of parameter we give.
example: if we give range of date 7/16/2007 - 7/16/2007 then only 1 column of data will come but if i give the date range as 7/9/2007 - 8/5/2007 then 28 columns will come as 28 days are selected.
i have given the body of the report such that it accomodates all 28 columns. i have few labels that i have to keep on the page header. the width of these textboxs i have given same as the matrix width when it will have 28 columns. in pdf exports the labels in the export comes aligned with the matrix when 28 columns are selected but in html the matrix expands. so it does not look aligned with the labels in the page header.
I hope the above explanation is clear.
