Hi,
I want to add a link in a report, possibly a url link or a link to other report. One way of doing this is to go to properties of textbox and then update the jump to option.
But how to do this through a click of a button, inside the report?
I am having Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, designer's version.
thanks

I've got a drill-down report in a table. There's a group set to hidden = false, and a textbox set as its toggle. When I view the report, the data in the group displays properly (it's not hidden), but the toggle icon is a "+", when it should be a "-". When I click the toggle, the group is hidden and the toggle icon changes to a "-".
I'm left clicking "+" to get less information and "-" to get more information, it's all backwards!
Has this bug been fixed? Is there a work-around?

Hi,
I wouls like to have a custom button called "Set" in the report toolbar in addition to the "View Report" button. I am aware of the fact that the look and feel of the existing controls on the toolbar can be customised or can be hidden using HtmlViewer.css. Is there any code which I can tweak to add buttons or images on the report toolbar?
Thanks

Response.write "<tr><td valign=""center""><br><a href=""" & rsGuestbook("image1") & """><img src=""" & rsGuestbook("image1") & """ border=""0"" width=""400""></a></td></tr>"
If I have the <a href> tag in the image does not show and if i change to a static link it works so its something i am doing with the "" ?

I have created an Access2003 project (existing data) that links to external data. First I connected to a SQL Server 2000 database. Success. Then I tried to set up a Transact SQL data connection to a legacy MDW-secured Access97 database. (A third-party VB6 application goes against it, and we don't have the source code, so we cannot upgrade it.)
The Transact SQL link tests OK but I cannot select any of the tables or queries from the list presented. However, with the same credentials, I can use these same objects in Excel 2003.
When setting up the link in Access2003, I specify JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider, I enter the MDW file on the All tab, a username and a password on the Connection tab where I browse to the MDB file, and specify Shared Deny None on the Advanced tab. When I test the connection, it tests OK ("Test connection succeeded"). Yet on the "Select the Database and Table/Cube which contains the data you want" dialog, "(Default)" appears in the grayed-out dropdown. Then, beneath that dropdown, there is a grid with Name and Description columns. The grid contains query names but the grid is not enabled. The list of queries is this table is grayed out. Neither of the scrollbars works.
BUT... if I use the SAME username and password in Excel2003, and specify the same MDW, there is no problem working with these same database objects in the legacy Access97 database. WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THE WIZARD IN EXCEL THAT ALLOWS IT TO SUCCEED AND THE WIZARD IN ACCESS THAT CAUSES IT TO FAIL HERE? In Excel, the list of available providers says Microsoft Access Driver, not JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider.
Thanks

I'm working on a report to show financial transactions from a table over a certain period. For most transactions there is a PDF document that is stored in a separate table in a binairy format. In my report I would like to include a link on every line with transaction information in the report that opens the PDF that is linked to that transaction. Just to be clear, I don't want to embed the PDF in the report but I want the users of the report to have the option to view the PDF that is related to that transaction in their standard pdf reader (adobe).
Code to do the following:
Once a user clicks on the link to view the PDF I need the code to get the binairy data of the PDF file from the table, convert it back to a PDF and open it in the default pdf reader (for example adobe reader). If it can't directly open the file then it's maybe possible to activate the 'open or download' pop up that you also get when you download something from a website.

hi all,
I have created a table in sql server 2005 as follows:
table name --> sampletest
1.id -->int ,identity,primary key
2. student_name --> varchar(50),not null
2. active --> bit, default value=1
Using vb.net 2005 , i entered names into sampletest. And when i check the table in the sql server 2005 the names are inserted and the active value is 1.
In another page i added a drop down list which bind all the student_name from sampletest and a delete button.
Now when i select a name and click the delete button that respective item's active column should be changed to 0. if any one who knows how to do this please help me..
thanks
swapna.
When i enter names into the student_name it's active state is "true".I do this programmatically using vb.net 2005.

Hello everybody!
trying to do the following:
-create a report in access project
-got 3 stored procedures which return data that shall be shown on report
-need one recordset as datasource (or can i use more than one here?)
Problem:
Data was unrelated before, now needs to be on same report, that's why until now i have 3 different pretty complex stored procedures returning a recordset each.
I could of course copy and paste the whole 3 into 1 new stored proc, but when one changes i had to change the newly created one too (which might get messy when doing a lot of maintenance and changes on the others)
Can create a stored procedure that simply integrates those 3 into one recordset something like this (in pseudo-code):
CREATE PROCEDURE IntegrateSPs AS
INTEGRATE
SP1,SP2,SP3
INTO myRecordset
Anything like this possible?
thx in advance,
Kuma

When trying to link to an SQL table in Access 2003, the software appears to be malfunctioning.
The sequence of events is File - Get External Data - Link Tables - Files of Type: ODBC Databases().
The Problem: On two of my computers, the select data source window does not pop up, preventing me from linking to any ODBC data source.
Observations: This function has worked normally in the recent past and works on other computers running Access 2003. One difference between the computers working and non-working computers is Norton Antivirus 2006 (recent upgrade).
Has anyone experienced anything like this? What's going on?

If I define a table-valued function in a SQL Server 2005 database, can I link to it from Access 2003 using ODBC?
I've defined the function successfully, and I can link from Access to tables in the database (so my ODBC link is basically functioning), but I can't see the table-valued function in the Linked Table Manager in Access.
I can define a pass-through query to grab the table, but with a pass-through query I have to provide the ODBC password every time.
What am I missing?
Suggestions?

Hello group
Is there a way to display an image stored in SQL without using a datagrid? I am using vb, the very few examples I do find open the image in a window by its self. Also is there a way find the height and width of an image stored in the database and the ability to change the image size? Example – when an image is uploaded to the database I would like a thumbnail to be created and also stored in the database. Any ideas please help.

Been pondering the idea of putting 43 - 56K Pdf documents into a SQL DB but everything I've read only goes as far as to explain how the data is stored or manipulated.
I need to establish whether there are real performance issues or gains that will be experienced by doing this.
If indeed, performance would be a big issue, would storing the files in a Folder on another drive outside the Database be all that much faster (Let windows handle the fetch and carry instead of SQL Server).
The plan at the moment is to store all the image data in a separate data file or multiple data files. Using partitioned views is also a consideration.
Number of records per day (pdf's) would be somewhere around a 1000.
