I am having problems launching the Report Builder. I click the button and nothing happens. I did see the other suggestions about re-installing the .NET 2.0 Framework but that did not help. I tried to launch it directly from the address bar and I am getting the same reponse as when I click on the Report Builder button. I can access the Report Builder from other machines and it works fine. I did just recently install IE 7 and I tried to uninstall it and go back to IE 6 but I got the same results.
I'm new to SSRS. I would like to launch a report from a C# desktop application, supplying parameters programatically. I was able to do this using System.Diagnostics.Process p ... then p.Start(@"(path)iexplore.exe","(reportURL)"); I'm betting there's a much better way to do this.
Ideally I would like to create an IE window that shows only the report, that is, only the report viewer toolbar is visible, the IE toolbars and menus are hidden. I want to specify IE as the browser in case some other browser is installed as the default web browser.
Can anyone link me to a tutorial or provide a code snip? Thanks.
I have an SSIS package. It updates a table in SQL Server 2005 database. There is another SSRS report that presents my final table and I run it and export it into Excel. Is it any way after SQL Query task and Store procedures are being finished in my SSIS package, I add another object to run my SSRS report and export it to Excel format?
In one of my SSIS Project tasks I insert some records into a table. I want to somehow fire off an SSRS report and send this report to some staff members. how would I add a component to reference or run an SSRS report off the table I just inserted to all from SSIS? I assume I'd h ave to create the report in SSRS first, then somehow reference it from SSIS and then figure out a way to run the report, maybe export it into Excel format and send to the users....not sure how to go about all this in my SSIS package.
I've searched and found a whole lot of information regarding Report Builder's occasional failures to launch, but every single suggestion has not worked for me. I'll try to describe this as completely as possible.
PC 1: Login with my user id, navigate to either my test or production report server, click 'Report Builder'; application launches and can be used as expected. Login with a 2nd user id, and it works. OS is Win2003 Server. Because both logins work on this PC, which tells me the security credentials are set correctly.
PC2: Login with my user id, navigate to either my test or production report server, click 'Report Builder'; application fails to launch. I do not receive an error message or dialog. The 'frames' for the Report Builder form flash momentarily on the screen. Login with same 2nd user id, and it fails the same way. OS is WinXP SP2; all updates.
PC3: Login with my user id, navigate to either my test or production report server, click 'Report Builder'; application fails to launch. I do not receive an error message or dialog. The 'frames' for the Report Builder form flash momentarily on the screen. Login with same 2nd user id, and it fails the same way. OS is WinXP SP2; all updates.
On PC2 and PC3, I navigate to the ClickOnce cache in my profile, right-click and 'run as' the reportbuilder.exe file. Choosing 'run as' my login and providing a password -- voila -- the application runs. I have to manually set the link to the report server, but it appears all else works fine. Same situation when I use my 2nd user id. If I don't 'run as' and provide the password (just double-click to launch the file), I get the same 'flash frames' above.
Ultimately, the push is to get PC2 and PC3 to function as does PC1. My resident .NET expert is stumped, as am I. Please help.
Dear all, I am looking for any snippet of code where you can launch a SSIS package by DMO or VB 6.0. I read that it was posible to call dts.runtime assembly from VB 6.0 but at first it might be converted or something like that. Issue comes from the moment that we€™ve got an ASP 3.0 scheduler for hundreds of dts and now we have to migrate them to sql25k. Thanks in advance for any info regarding this,
I have a requirement, want to generate the PDF report from source data sql table records through SSIS package without using the SSRS tool. i came to know calling this SSRS report generate the PDF report. but my case without using the SSRS tool, needs to prepare the PDF report.
I have created a report using SSRS 2012. To create a pdf report, I use SSIS 2008. When I run debugging in SSIS, the pdf report is generated correctly.
But when I run the SSIS as a job in SQL 2012, the pdf report is generated with o bytes. When I tried to open it with Adobe, there is error, something like - Adobe Reader could not open PPAA.pdf because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged.
I wrote this post others times but the answer did not satisfied so that I'd like to know if really anyone has ever used or experienced with this possibility. No by .Net language rather than Vb 6.0 or ASP or even instanciacing DMO library.
According this link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=817248 it seems possible but I haven't idea if possible keeping in mind that it has been made by yourself no for others... So that, I mean, these assemblies comes along with Sql Server 2005 installation.
Is it possible to launch an SSIS package after a SQL event takes place? I need to run a package after a customer order is placed. Can a trigger in SQL launch the package?
How do I pass a parameter from a SSRS report to the sql stmt in a SSIS package? Mainly need to know the correct syntax of the connection string to use for the datasource in the SSRS report. Every time I add the /SET part of the string the connection breaks. The connection string i've been using is: /file "C:\PackageName.dtsx /Set Package.Variables[StartDate];"&Parameters!StartDate.Value
I am trying to setup a process in which a user, who is using a vb.net 2008 application, will need to trigger the creation of two items. The first is SSRS report which will need to be exported to PDF format to a shared folder on the network.Â
This report accepts one parameter. The second thing that will need to be created at the same time is an excel file with data exported from SQL Server 2008 which is generated through an SSIS package. A couple things to note. The excel file and the pdf file need to have the same file name, other than the extension.Â
For example P00000001_20100831.pdf and P00000001_20100831.xlsx and will both be stored in the same network share. The filenames need to be created dynamically at run time and will be based on a parameter being passed to the report.
So far I have the portion that creates the excel file working fine. The way I create that is as follows. I have a stored procedure that creates a job which calls the SSIS package and passes the appropriate parameters to the SSIS package.Â
After the job is created I immediately run it and then delete the job. Ok, everything works fine with that.
Now I cant seem to figure out how to get the pdf created. If possible I would like to keep this portion together with the already created job or package. I am running SQL Server 2008 standard so the data driven subs are out. I have thought about create a time subscription and then just using a SQL task in the package to execute the subscription but couldnt figure out how to pass the parameter to the report and create the filename.

I am new at using Report Service and after successful install the SQL SERVER EXPRESS ADVANCE SP2 and configured the ReportIing Services Configuration. I try to launch the report manager by typing http://localhost/Reports I get the following error:
The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.
I've read many forums but I couldn't resolve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I am running IIS 7 on Window Vista Business Ed. & SQL Server Express Ed. I am not sure if this make any differences.
I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.Â
I have written a report visual studio. Â The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. Â When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. Â There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free. When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. Â None of the headers or static text is displayed. Â The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. Â In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Â Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. Â The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax. We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
Ralph SELECT RTRIM(a.ITEMNMBR) AS Style, RTRIM(a.ITEMDESC) AS Description, a.ITMSHNAM AS UPC, c.LOCNCODE AS Store, d.LISTPRCE AS ListPrice, a.CURRCOST AS Cost, a.USCATVLS_1 AS [Main Category], a.USCATVLS_2 AS Market, a.USCATVLS_3 AS [Alternate Retail], a.USCATVLS_4 AS Country, b.ITEMXTRAS_1_Type AS Type, b.ITEMXTRAS_2_Finish AS Finish, b.ITEMXTRAS_3_SubCategory AS SubCategory, b.ITEMXTRAS_4_Department AS Department,
I have a ssrs report having 2 tables in with 4 columns in each. When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .
We have an Office SharePoint 2007 site, we developed a couple of web parts and added them to our site. We used SQL Server Reporting services 2005 as our reporting solution. The reports are hosted on the report center and when we need a report, we open it by sending a URL requesting the report, passing the report parameters in the URL query string. So the report is filtered based on the parameters passed from the web parts.
But since best practices say that you should host reports directly under SharePoint, by configuring the reporting services to run in the SharePoint integrated mode. We followed the steps and installed SharePointRS and we finally succeeded to publish the reports to a SharePoint folder, but we had a limitation: we are unable to pass the report parameters internally to the report hosted in SharePoint. If we passed them in the query string as the report center case, SharePoint neglects them totally. So the question is: how can I pass parameters internally between a SharePoint web part and a SQL server 2005 reporting services report hosted in SharePoint?
I'm wondering how to print a SSRS report without bringing up a report viewer. Is there way to print(PDF format) the SSRS report in the web application(Â .net ) Â directly from the "print" button without bringing up a report viewer?
I'm encounter lately some weird behaviour of SSRS in BIDS as well as after deploying on Reporting Server. I'm running basic classical SQL SSRS Reports with Oracle DB connection. My reports have header and footer pagination and well defined report layer configuration. All the reports are simple based on one table and some basic parameters passed to query.
In query builder from BIDS from data tab, the query is running fine without any other execution delays. Also the query is runnign fine in PL/Dev environment. When I switch in "Preview" mode the report hangs in execution and just showing "Report is being generated" without any resuts. After a while is generating an execution error (after 20 min).
The behaviour is the same after deployment on Report Server . I now...here it comes...the problem is intermitent...some times the report is working...but most of the times it hangs on execution. I checked the report from top to bottom and nothing's wrong from design perspective.
On other reports I don't have this problem and I don't understand where to start to investigate.
I am trying to develop a report from cube, and it has one drill through report.when i click on sales amount field on main report, then it open the drill through report with details. Here i passed the **(category, subcat, product)parameters(Cascaded)** to drill through report in action part of main report. In my main report i have two columns .
columns are **Level**  and        **Salesamount**. Â
Values are like Â
**[-]category** Â Â Â Â Â Â Â **100** Â Â **[-]subcat** Â Â Â Â Â Â **50** Â Â Â Â Â **product** Â Â Â Â Â **30**
when i click on 100, parameters are passed & it open the detail report correctly, but when i click on 50,the values for subcat parameter is not getting values in detail report and same as the product also.
How do I get data on my linked report based on my grouped subtotal and grand total from the main report. The subtotal and grand total are calculated columns.
I have a 3 columns in my matrix in the SSRS summary report. Actn_COAST, ActnCITY and NumbOfAccts. Â
The following is code for my summary report. The results are shown below.
SELECT Distinct ActnCITY, Count(ACCT) as NumbOfAccts, CASE WHEN ActnCITY in ('NY', 'OH', IN, 'NJ', 'SC', 'NC') THEN 'EAST COAST' WHEN ActnCITY IN ('CA'. 'NV', 'UT', 'WA', 'OR') THEN 'WEST COAST' ELSE 'OTHER' END AS Actn_COAST
FROM tbl1 where ACTNDATE between @STARTDT and @EndDT
Code for my detail report contains the following SQL
SELECT * FROM tbl1 where ACTNDATE between @STARTDT and @EndDT AND @ActnCITY = ActnCITY
I have linked my report based on the NumbOfAccts column. I am able to get data if I click any of the NumbOfAccts values related to the state I want. However when I am not sure how to make the subtotal and grand total work. I want when I click on the subtotal of either coast, I should be able to see records of that coast e.g., if I select 37 I should be able to see all the records in East Coast. If I click on the Grand Total, I only want data related to those 2 coasts.
Is there a way to subscribe SSRS report using dynamic parameters for email and trigger the report from autosys job so that report should generate the exact time the job is triggered.Let me describe, my SSRS report should be triggered on success of one autosys job. i need to send email parameter and time of report schedule from this autosys job.
Hi, I'm having problems navigating from one report to another one if the second report has a multi-valued report parameter. When I navigate to the second report, I don't pass any parameters, but I get an error "parameter is missing a value" for the multi-valued report parameter. I have it setup as allow "multi-value" and "blank value". Any idea what the issue might be? Thanks.
How to display the logo in middle of report header , The logo is embedded in the Image folder . The column of the report  are static. we are using SSRS 2008
