DBProcess Is Ded Or Not Enabled

Feb 3, 1999

I'm tryng to restore a single table (12000 records) from a database backup, but during the restore process I receive the message :

DBProcess is dead or not enabled.

If I try to restore a smaller table (9000 record) there is no problem.

Any idea?

Thanks!

DBPROCESS Is Dead Or Not Enabled

May 28, 2008

We are running application on Ms SQL Server connecting to PowerBuilder 7.0.3, using MSS Microsoft SQL Server 6.X driver.
We have recently migrated the SQL Server from 2000 to 2005 SP2, in which databases are still at compatability level 80.
The application runs perfectly for one week, but later we received some occassional reports from users that database connection breaks after a

certain idle period. Below are the errors, usually error 1 appears before error 2.

Error 1
A database error has occured.
Database error code: 10025
Database error message:
Select error: Possible network error: Write to SQL Server Failed. General network error. Check your documentation.

Error 2
A database error has occured.
Database error code: 10005
Database error message:
Select error: DBPROCESS is dead or not enabled.

We couldn't find any related errors in the SQL Server log. Does anyone has the idea of what's wrong or how to trace the connection brokerage?

Transact SQL :: Error - Maximum Row Size Exceeds Allowed Maximum Of 8060 Bytes

Sep 12, 2015

I have some code I build 2 weeks ago which I’ve been running daily but it’s suddenly stopped working with the following error.

“The table "tbl_Intraday_Tmp" has been created, but its maximum row size exceeds the allowed maximum of 8060 bytes. INSERT or UPDATE to this table will fail if the resulting row exceeds the size limit” When I google this there seems to be a related to tables with vast numbers of columns.

My table tbl_Intraday_tmp is relatively small. It has 7 columns. 1 of varchar(5), 3 of decimal(9,3) and 2 of decimal(18,0). The bit I’m puzzled with is it was working and stopped.

I don’t recall changing anything but I wouldn’t rule that out. I ‘ve inspected the source files and I don’t believe they have changed either.

DECLARE
@FileName varchar(50),
@Path varchar(50),
@SqlCmd varchar(1000)
= '',
@ASXCode varchar(5),
@Offset decimal(18,0),

[code]....

SQL Server 2000 8.00.760 (SP3)I've been working on a test system and the following UDF worked fine.It runs in the "current" database, and references another database onthe same server called 127-SuperQuote.CREATE FUNCTION fnGetFormattedAddress(@WorkID int)RETURNS varchar(130)ASBEGINDECLARE@Address1 As varchar(50)@ReturnAddress As varchar(130)SELECT@Address1 = [127-SuperQuote].dbo.tblCompany.Address1FROM[Work] INNER JOIN[127-SuperQuote].dbo.tblCompany ON [Work].ClientID =[127-SuperQuote].dbo.tblCompany.CompanyIDWHERE[Work].WorkID = @WorkIDIF @Address1 IS NOT NULLSET @ReturnAddress = @ReturnAddress + @Address1 + CHAR(13)+ CHAR(10)RETURN @ReturnAddressENDSo now the system has gone live and it turns out that the live"SuperQuote" database is on a different server.I've linked the server and changed the function as below, but I get anerror both in QA and when checking Syntax in the UDF builder:The number name 'Zen.SuperQuote.dbo.tblCompany' contains more than themaximum number of prefixes. Adjusting Data Files Space Allocated On The Fly

Current size is listed at 963mb while allocated size is 959mb. Trans log size is set to auto-grow and is allocated 4mb

Can we change that number on the fly, and also change the the growth settings without affecting the system?

Being a live system we obviously do not want any downtime, but believe this will help with our slowdown.

Any other ideas would also be appreciated

SQL Server Admin 2014 :: Analysis Services Not Taking Allocated Memory?

Mar 14, 2014

We have run into an issue on a dedicated SSAS 2012 SP1 server where the allocated memory is not being utilized, causing some slowness in use, connections, and queries.

Total Memory on the server is 512, and after startup, the utilized memory gets up to a max of 60GB and stops there. Checking the Resource Monitor, msmdsrv.exe is only taking around 39GB overall. With the current properties, that should be at 330GB. Am I missing something in the settings or in configuration that should be changed?

Version: SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise (11.0.3000)
OS: Windows Server 2012 Datacenter - Fully patched and up to date
Databases: 2 Tabular models
Server: 512GB RAM

Current memory configuration:

LowMemoryLimit - 65% (Default)
TotalMemoryLimit - 95% (Default is 80)
VertiPaqMemoryLimit - 60% (Default)

SQL Server 2008 :: Does List Of Page IDs Allocated For A Table Change During Index Rebuilds

We noticed a deadlock 3-4 weeks ago on a table (table1) and deadlock graph was captured.

When I am analyzing the deadlock graph, page number using DBCC PAGE, I am getting the object id for a different table (table2). But deadlock graph shows the name of the object as table1.

Is it possible that subsequent defragmentation of indexes would have caused the respective page id to got re-allocated to a different table? I checked the deadlock graph lately only after 3-4 weeks.

And to my horror thedata file instead of taking just 5GB took the empty spaces also and the sizeof the used data file went to 8GB.Any idea what's going on?TIA,SP

Trans Log-&>space Allocated 27GB, Space Used 100MB

Mar 2, 2005

Hi.. I was doing a good maintenance on my DB and my trans log LDF keep growing until 30GB but my DB data file MDF is only 2GB. I found the two following method to reduce my log size.

Method 1: I used veritas to backup log file with truncate
Method 2: I used the shrink database option in Enterprises manager to shrink it (file chosen=log , use default option)

After doing that, I found my LDF log file is still about the same size=27GB but when I see clearly, from the shrink database windows, the log spaced used reduced to only 100MB, the allocation log space is still 27GB. Why? How to make the LDF smaller to be the around the same size as the space used 100MB?
