Table Footer Does Not Print On A Separate Page
Jul 27, 2007I'm using SSRS SP2. I have a table with 1 group defined. I have a group footer that includes sub totals for each group. I have a table footer that includes my grand totals, but this footer will NOT print on a separate page even though I have 'Page Break At End' checked for the group. My groups correctly start on a new page, but when I get to my Grand Total footer line, it prints just after the last group sub-total line.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I set my report page width as 13 inch(page size=13in, 11in). Report is working correctly, It is having all the columns when I am exporting the report to PDF. But some columns are missing when I am directly printing the report. Can you please let me know how to print report with all the columns.

How To Make Footers Page Number Appear When I Print The Report

When i view the report it shows the page number and time, but when i print it does'nt appear at all on the print paper( page number and time)
is there a trick to make it appear on the print.

Reporting Services :: Report Builder 3.0 - Separate Grand Total Section To A New Page?
May 5, 2015is it possible to separate Grand Total of a sub group to a new page?
I tried using advanced mode, find the first line the Grand Total section and set its "RepeatOnNewPage" to true, but, when I execute the report, it will throw an error something like the value of RepeatOnNewPage of the TablixMemeber must be the same as its previous object.
I need my report pages to separate by subGroup(SubGroupA, SubGroupB, A+BTotal).

While playing with SQL Server 2000 I found you can specify the selection criteria in either the FROM clause or the WHERE clause:
e.g.
select *
from Table1 a inner join Table2 b ON a.key = b.key and a.field = 1
Is logically the same as:
select *
from Table1 a inner join Table2 b ON a.key = b.key
where a.a = 1
Any comments on which is best, and why?

Problem With Date In Selection Criteria

I am facing strange problem in SQL Server Query Analyzer, I am writing following query:
Select WorkItemKey,DateCreated,DateDue, DateCompleted from WorkItems Where DateCreated > '28/02/2001'
Query failed & gives following error:
Server: Msg 242, Level 16, State 3, Line 1
The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value.
But if I write same query in this way:
Select WorkItemKey,DateCreated,DateDue, DateCompleted from WorkItems Where DateCreated > '2001-02-28'
OR
Select WorkItemKey,DateCreated,DateDue, DateCompleted from WorkItems Where DateCreated > '28/Feb/2001'
It works fine! Can anybody explain me why it is so???

Sep 24, 2015I need to query a table in Database 1 then, using a primary key, pull the columns from a table in Database 2.
The query I'm using in db_1 works:
SELECT * FROM db_1.table_1 WHERE Â (hcpcs_cd = '20552' AND srvc_units_num>'1 ' AND claim_dos_yr >'2012')Â
But what I really need are the columns associated with these records in db_2.table_1. Â There is a primary key in both tables.
Ultimately what I need is all of the columns in db_2.table_1 and the hcpcs_cd, srvc_untis_num, and claim_dos_yr from db_1.table1
Interesting Problem..related To Selection Criteria..
Apr 10, 2007Have report where the user should be able to enter some selection critera to EXCLUDE from the result set displayed.
I deally Iwould liek to include it in the sql parameters to avoid retunring a larger then necessary result set, but Couldn't I also use it inthe filter criteria?
Has anyone done anything like this.
ie: a drop down box where people could add exclusions.
ie: Apples, Oranges
would be excluded from the result list.
So If I entered Apples, Oranges
the resultset would eclude these from the returned dataset.
I realize using a multi param box is fruitless. WOndering if there is another way to do this

May 5, 2014I have an ordering database with several tables that store data of orders belonging to a wide variety of clients. There is a generic report that I need to run which outputs the same data elements. However the criteria to select these orders will vary widely between each client. For e.g.
i) for client# 1 it could be all orders that are still open after 30 days of placing an order
(
OrderStatus = 'Open'
AND
GetDate() - OrderCreationDate >= 30
)
ii) for client# 2 it could be all orders that have been completed 60 days or earlier
(
OrderStatus = 'Completed'
AND
GetDate() - OrderCompletedDate >= 60
)
iii) for client# 3 it could be a combination of different things (all orders in West Region that are in hold status for more than 10 days + all orders in Eastern Region that are in shipping and are expected to be delivered in the next 2 days + all completed orders for the rest of the regions).

AND
OrderStatus = 'Hold'
AND
GetDate() - OrderHoldDate >= 10

I want to have a stored procedure that selects all data and dynamically attach the where condition at the end for filtering. This way I wouldn't have to worry about any additions/changes that are made to the selection criteria. I can build an interface for admins who can use the UI to maintain the selection criteria and not worry about any code changes to accommodate it. I would like to design a table that holds this criteria. At this point in time, I am thinking of using key value pairs (Column Name, Column Value) but I am not sure how to implement multiple logical operators.

Apr 16, 2007How can I print a field that is in the dataset on each page? I added a textbox in the Page Header and use =Fields!ProjectName.value in the value property. I got an error "Fields cannot used in page header and footer."
How can I have the table header shows on each page? Currently if the data goes to the second page, there is no table header.

Page Header And Page Footer Not Loading Report Items In The Main Report When Subreport Called?

I am having a main report having two subreports, say M1,S1 and S2 respectively.
The issue is S2 normally tend to go beyond one page, for all pages except first page of the of the subreport I am getting the page header and footer blank,
Actually this is not loading the ReportItems that are used in main report but it shows text boxes containing strings for eg . "My Name" and date functions eg Today()
Any Solution?

Report Viewer In ASP.NET - Subreport Page 2 Goes Back To Main Report Page 2 On Paging
Nov 22, 2007What we've found is that when you have two reports where one navigates to the other, if you click on the second page of the second report, it takes you to the second page of the original report. If you navigate over to the subreport again and click for the second page, it works appropriately. This is definitely a no-go for production code and this may delay our ship date because I would think this is definitely undesirable.
Conditions:
ASP.NET Report Viewer using Remote Reports
Report that links to another report
Both reports return more than one page
Reporting Services installed
Steps to Reproduce:
Download the source code here.
Follow the directions (near the bottom of the post) to get the project set up.
Run it and click on a link in the first report to go to the second report.
Click the arrow for page 2 of the second report.
Notice how it takes you back to page 2 of the first report (this doesn't happen when you are in preview mode in the Reporting Services project and I don't believe it does this in a smart client application).

Export To Excel Last Column Is Always Put On Separate Page.
Dec 31, 2007This seems to happen when the report is not 8.5 x 11 portrait. Any other size or orientation will cause it to put the column on the last page.

I know the function of being able to set a section of a report to print at the bottom of the page, but does anyone know any work arounds for this? I have a main report (statement) which ive done a work around, to include the details i need at the bottom of the page into the footer, but then i have a second report (invoice) that needs to be included as subreport, which also needs infomation at the bottom of the page, but as its a subreport, sql reports does not allow for footer/header infomation in a subreport.
Unfortuantly i can not split the two reports out as they need to be printed together.
Any help/recomendations would be greatly received.

I wote a report including body and pagefooter, On body I put a list & the list inside had a table. Now when I print out this report, printer will printout 2 pages. (correct report is 1 page) , and on the second page, it had page footer only. If I turn off this page footer on next page, printer still
printout a blank page that's i don't need. Does anybody can help me fix this problem?

Sep 21, 2007I have a SRS report that we are using as an invoice. I want to print out terms on the backside of the 1st page. Is this possible? Any ideas on how to go about doing this? I think the best way to go about doing this is to print the whole report double sided, and leave every 'even numbered' page blank expcept page 2, where the terms would print. I'm just not sure how to go about doing this in SRS.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a report which has four tables in it. But I have only one
Dataset. Since this dataset has more then 30 fields, I have divided
this into four tables to be shown in a report. This will help the user
to take print of the report and place each print out side by side for
view.
Showing each table in a new page is just fine. It works. But when we
take print out some times rows of second table are printed in same
page that shows rows of first table.
With this user can not put each print out side by side for view.
Is there any way to set option like print each table in new page? I
mean to say after printing first table, second table print should
start at new page.

Large Amount Of Text Pushing To Separate Page After PDF Render
May 25, 2006I am having a small problem.
When I generate a report with a large amount of text data (Paragraphs) the report will not split the text between two pages.
It will move the entire text box to the next page leaving a large amount of space on the previous page.
I tried every control on the page to render this. I tried textboxes, tables, lists, rectangles, subreports, etc..
The data is stored in a SQL table using a text data type (there can be a large amount of data entered into these database.
Any help on this would be great. I like reporting services, but there are just a few bugs.
I am using Reporting Services 2000 with Service Pack 2 and Hotfix

Is there a way to set the print condition such that if any group details do not fit onto one page then the whole group should be printed on the next page. Something like this:

This seems like a simple Microsoft Based Reporting System 101 feature...But I can not find out how to do it (among other things that seem like it should work with Microsoft rendering to Microsoft).
How do I make the SSRS 2005 Header for the Report print on each of the pages in excel once it is rendered from SSRS?
All I want is an answer by MSFT that says "YES" it can be done and how or "No" it is not currently available.

PDF Format Print Extra Blank Page With Header

When I Preview my report then it's fine only 2 pages with no blank page with header in between.
I then deploy it & open via web.
But when i export to PDF & print it pints 3 pages with the first being a blank page with header.
Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?

I'm having 2 issues on my first "real" SSRS report.
1. How to do a print preview via the preview tab. For print rendering, I have no print preview button on the preview toolbar. Is this normal? MS documention said that there is a Print Preview button. (BOL May 2007 - Designing & Creating reports -> working with report designer -> debugging and Publishing reports (Print Preview)) This report will always be rendered via the printer and it is a "pain" to have to always print it to see changes. The print layout option comes up all black with nothing viewable.
2. How do I reset page numbers back to 1 for report groups? I see no option for this. My report group requires a new page and I want page numbering to start at 1 when the grouping changes.
Note: I'm running VS2005 via Vista (with VS2005 Vista fix installed). SQL2005 SP2 also installed.
Any advice on this will be appreciated. I've spent too much time already where this should be obvious.

Jan 23, 2008I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this for me... I'm using SSRS SP2 and I have a basic report using a single list object which, at the moment, should print only two pages based on the results of the underlying query. When previewing the report, it shows the two pages. But when the report is printed or exported, there is a blank page before each report page.
What I've done so far:
1) Verified the properties of the list object and made sure that 'Insert a page break before this list' is not checked
2) Ensured that there are no hidden objects that could be causing this behavior
3) Ensured that the report size + margins are within the boudaries of an standard 8.5x11 paper size
Any suggestions on something that would solve this issue?

I dont know if theres a way to print a section of some report, for example a summary report, where I have several charts and tables, and I want to print just the first 2 charts
Could this be done by mapping the document or separating it in some other way?
I tried using 'SubReports' control, but this way I need to have for example the first two charts in a different report (lets say 2charts.rdl), and then in the summary.rdl, add the control and set the link to 2charts.rdl,.... but I think this is pretty annoying considering the future modifications of the format in the 2charts.rdl...
