Hi,
I've installed ms visual studio 2005. On the list of installed components, there was SQL server 2005. As far as I'm concerned it automatically installs SQL Express. I have VStudio ready for work, in start -> All Programs -> MS SQL Server 2005 I have only "configuration tools". Where can I find tools for createing database schema, some sql editors, tools for creating new users.. etc???

Does the _adv version of the .exe file support all the same command line switches as the basic version? Or is there an easy way to include reporting services on the basic one without going up to the _adv one?

I keep getting sqlbrowser service could not be validated when I try to run slqservr32 from a vbscript on the commit event. I basically need to create an instance on the customers local machine, and give them say a sql login and password with sqlbrowser and everything else required so I can connect to it and create the databases we have. I use the following command line args.
Sqlserv32 /q /qn instancename=someinstance addlocal=all sapwd=@StrongPwd Sqlaccount=anaccount sqlpassword=pass agtaccount=anaccount agtpassword=pass sqlbrowseraccount=abrowseraccount sqlbrowserpassword=pass disablenetworkprotocols=0 securitymode=sql
Im not sure what to do. I cant configure anything or start the sqlbrowser service because its not installed yet. I need to create new logins hence im using the command line install. Does anyone have any suggestions? im stuck.

Hello
I have the sql server 2005 express edition. the software stops during the setup and gives me a "failed" message. All other software of express edition are working fine. I am getting the problem only when I am dealing with sql server 2005 express edition. I made sure to deleate all the old version of sql server. uninstalled all the sql server files which were in my computer prior to download the new one. However I am still in troulbe.
As someone suggested that one should uninstale the sqlmsi file so I did that too. Still samething. Any help please......

I am using installshield to distribute SQL Server 2005 Express. I have the SQLEXPR.EXE file and I want to run it in /qb mode so the user can see the pretty dialogs pop up but not have to click anything.
