SQL Report Server Subscription E-mail Format As MS Word
Jan 22, 2007I am wanting to set-up a subscription to e-mail my reports in MS Word format (either .doc or .rtf) and I do not have the option on my company's report server version.
I have read that it is possible, though I don't have the option. Is this a change to report server, or maybe is our version not updated?
I can e-mail the report out in the following formats:
XML File with report data
CSV (comma delimited)
TIFF File
Acrobat (PDF) file
Web Archive (default)
Excel
Let me know if I am just expecting too much, or if there is something that needs to be updated on our report server.

How Does One Save A Stored Procedure
Dec 20, 2005In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express you can right click on "Stored Procedures" under a database in the object explorer and the resulting Context Menu offers a selection called "New Stored Procedure".
If you select "New Stored Procedure", a Stored Procedure Template Document is added for editing. It has the suffix ".sql"; I can save this document to the file system after I edit it, but I cannot figure out how to add it to the database as a Stored Procedure.
Can someone please tell me how to do this.

Query On A Single Word
Aug 30, 2005Hi i am using Access as my database (i know its an MS SQL forum but that's the closest i could find, and maybe its more of an sql question).
I am trying to select all rows that contain i.e. the word "Art"
SELECT * FROM table1 WHERE column1 LIKE %Art%
as you can see column1 contain some words and not just "ART"
however i am getting also the following:
CART , ARTI, DARTS - since all has arts.
( i can use '=' since the column consist of other words)
The query should also load : Art. Art, Art! Art? and "ART"
Is there an easy solution or i need to create a huge condition ?
Can't Save My Stored Procedure Using VS2005

I'm using VS2005 and trying to save my very simple stored procedure.The error message "Invalid object name 'dbo.xxxxx' just pop's up.
The SP is written through the Server Explorer > Stored Procedures > Add new.... etc.Using SQL server 2000.
Don't think this has to do with the SP-code but here it is:

I clicked on the Northwind--> Programm--> Stored Procedure-- > right clicked --> new stored procedure
after writing my stored procedure I saved it. But when I am saving I want to save it under the Stored Procedure folder
of the NorthWind database. I guess this is what it should do. When I use to use the sql 2000, i could always send my stored procedure here , i guess it was by default. But even if i save my sql stored procedure at any other location than at the run time, how the applicaiton will find my store procedure.
Well so thinking of that I have to save my stored procedure under the database for which table it is created however, i can not save it there. I tried to figure out the directly but I couldnt.
So any suggestion????
Help: MS-Word Apostrophes In Query Analyzer
Jul 20, 2005After creating an IN clause from a bunch of character strings created by aWord macro, Query Analyzer complains about a syntax error. The macro takes acolumn full of character strings and wraps apostrophes (single-quotes)around each string and adds a comma to the end of each line, ready to pasteinto a Query Analyzer session. The problem is that Query Analyzer doesn'trecognize the MS-Word apostrophes. It has nothing to do with the standardapostrophe/quote problems that some people face when dealing with embeddedquotes.Can anyone suggest how to produce single-quote characters in MS-Word thatQuery Analyzer understands?Thank you.

How To Save A Stored Procedure With Management Studio?

i can make and save a stored procedure in Visual Web Developer (via Database Explorer). It appears then in the list op stored procedure in Management Sudio.
But how to do the same in Management Studio? When i make a sp and i want to save it, Management Studio asks me a name, but put the file in a Projects directory in 'My documents'. It never appears in the list of sp.

Stored Procedure Is Hard To Create/Save

Recently, I started to move more databases from SQL Server 2000 to 2005, well the Stored Procedures in 2005 is hard to handle.
First of all, I created the new SP in Object Explorer, the "New Stored Procedure" query just created a new name under the Stored Procedures folder, then I have to re-open it to put in TSQL code.
After I put in the code in the new SP, if I click "Save", the File
Manager comes out to let me to save in a physical location (C: or D: or Network place...). But after I close and open the new SP, the code I put in there is not really in the new SP.
I know that I have to "Execute" the SP in order to save the change. But the problem is I don't want to run the code at this step, the SP is to get a lot of data transactions, I'll setup a "Job" to do this.
So, the question is: Is this the way to create and save a new SP? Is there any other way to save the code changes in the SP WITHOUT "Execute" it?
Please give me any advise, article or links to read.

Anyway To Force SQL Server To Save Store Procedure With Errors?
Feb 12, 2008When I create/alter a store procedure in SQL Server 2005, SQL server always checks for syntax errors first and won't let me save the change if it detects any error. Is there a way we can force the SQL server to save the store procedure that fails the syntax check?
I know SQL server will allow such invalid store procedures if you detach & re-attach the entire database from one SQL server to another server. However, if I try to manually create the same store procedure from one server on a different server with a script, then it won€™t let you save the store procedure if the linked server (or the table) can€™t be accessed from the new sql server.
How do you get around this?

Query For Taking Each Word In A String, And Putting A Comma After It?
Aug 29, 2007Hey all, i'm making the pages meta keywords on my site dynamic, and i was wondering is there is a string, for example "Dell 17" Monitor Brand New", that would split it into each word for the meta keywords. example "Dell, 17", Monitor, Brand, New" (and possibly to not put a comma on the last word?)

They would like it to be more fuzzy with "and" and "or". How can I adapt this?
Fulltext Index Error With Query Word BARBE
Jul 30, 2007For demonstration I created a fulltext index on table employee in Northwind database.
The following query gives an error:
SELECT * FROM employees
WHERE CONTAINS (FirstName, 'Barbe')
Replacing 'Barbe' by 'Barb' or other words it works fine.
The error message is (I have a french version of SQL installed, here the translation: "A clause in the query contains only ignored words"

Language for wordbreak in fulltext index is French and the error happens only with French, with English it works.
Is this a Microsoft bug?
