my report dont fit on a A4 letter. thats not a problem at the report viewer but when i print or export the report.
can i scale the report to fit to one page??

My table has a Group for order my dates.
I need to have the intere table in the same page, i don't care about blank space at the end of the page.
I can't use the page break beacuse i need an excel export in a unique sheet.. I have tested.. every page break..you'll have a different sheet in your excel export
I created a report with borders in the page header, the page body, and the page footer. When I preview the report in report viewer it is exactly how I want it and it also prints and exports to pdf perfectly. There's only a problem viewing it in report manager. The borders in the page header and footer show up right but the body of the report's borders don't show up at all. The body of the report also is no longer aligned with the page header and footer because it's borders seem to be unrecognized in the report manager view. Has anyone experienced this problem and/or figured out what to do to fix this? Please let me know.
Ok guys, here's the problem. Normally if I were sorting a report that needed to be rendered to pdf or excel, I'll sort the data in the dataset before loading it into the reportviewer in my code. This is in vb, for example:
But for this particular case, I have to load the data into the report first, because in the actual report I have to combine two columns based on certain criteria (i do this using an expression for a column in my table) , and after those two columns are combined then they must be sorted.
But since the data is already loaded into the reportviewer I can't sort like I normally would, the report is rendered in either excel or pdf so interactive sort is pointless. I can't sort through table or properties or the properties of the text box because both fields are combined and you can only sort based on one field.
Hi, Im using report viewer control in my VS2005 application. Im exporting reports using the Export Functionality of report viewer control. I need to gv specific name to the excel sheet (other then the default name). Pl. help!!!
I am wondering if anyone knows how to change the sheet names in Excel when exporting a report from Reporting Services 2005. In other words, I have a report with approximately 5 page breaks built in. When I render the report to Excel, it creates the 5 sheets as I expect, but it names them "Sheet1", "Sheet2", "Sheet3" etc... Is there a way to specify the name of the sheets? I am currently using a different table in my report for each sheet, but I am open to structuring this differently if needed.
I'm quite new in Reporting Services and have the following problem:
I created a report which is getting its data from 5 different databases. For every database I made a subreport to get the data. In the preview and on the Reporting Server all the data is displayed find. Now I want to export the report to an Excel sheet which does work. But where the data from the subreports is to be shown it just says that subreports in table-cells has been ignored.
Another problem is that the way the report looks in the preview is fine - on the reporting server the columns are far to wide. I allready marked that the width should be fixed.
Some more information: in the main report some cells are merged. In these merged cells is the data from the subreport to be shown. The subreport displays the data in a table which has exact the same amount of colums (and the same size) the cells in the main report had before merging.
I've built a fairly straight forward report in RS that looks normal in preview mode and in PDF format with out any issues.But when I export it to Excel report header is not appearing in each page.Any ideas as to why this is occurring?thanks in advance,Ramesh KS

User want to export report file in Excel format. when  exported report then by default 2 columns will be hidden in excel and user can unhide columns after export in excel.I did column hide on report level and show in result set in excel sheet by using Global render format.Â
I am trying to get the contents of the Excel Files dynamically and dumping into the SQL Database using SSIS. Through WMI Event Watcher, I could find when one or more Excel files dumped in a particular folder and using ForEach Loop Container I was able to take all the filenames and pass it through Variables. But at the same time in the Data Flow, I have to pass each Sheet of an Excel File to the Excel Source control and export the data to my SQL Database using OLEDB Destination.
For that I need to get the names of each sheets in an Excel File and pass it to the Excel Source Control through variables. But when I give Data Access Mode as "Table name or view name variable" and provide the variable name in that, then it is giving an error message as "A destination table name has not been provided".
And at the same time, Since I was not able to provide an static Filename (as I am passing through Variables), when I tried to map the columns in the OleDB Destination, it is not allowing me to map the columns.
So all these things I should do at Run-time using Variables in SSIS. I don't want to hard-code any filenames or Sheet names. If any one of you have a solution, please share with me.

I have ssis package where I have excel connection manager with expression pointing to a variable which has path for location and name of excel spreadsheet to be create each with date on the name.ExcelFilePath points to variable for shared location where excel file will be saved.I have File system task for copying template excel file to destination location with date in file name.I drag and drop excel destination.  Pointed to excel connection manager. Under data access mode, I have select table and view.  When I try to select name of excel sheet,  it says, no tables or views could be loaded. I should be able to see sheetname there so that I can map column. I only have option to create new spreadsheet. I want to use template to load data in excel file. I dont want to create new sheet. It was working before. But I opened the ssis package and its broken. I have a Sales report with 3 lists each being nested inside of the other and they also each contain a Matrix. Top list is for Region, followed by District and then State. I have page breaks setup so that each region appears on it's own page, followed by each District summary appearing at the top of the page with a breakdown on that page for that Districts states. In total the report exported to PDF or printed runs around 19 pages. This report when exported to PDF or printed works fine.
When I export it to excel I get a full document map on the first worksheet. I then get 10 worksheets of information breaking off the last 9. The document map links reflect the absence of this data by not actually being links from that point on. If I remove page breaks so that the number of pages created are less than 10 excel worksheets the export works fine and my document map links are created.
So does the export to Excel have a limitation on the number of Worksheets that can be created? In my case it appears to happen at 10 each time. Oh and by the way I've attempted this in VS.2003 and 2005 and SQL Reporting Services 2000 and 2005 for the same reports.
First of all, this is not in reference to using SRS (SQL Reporting Services) to render a report and then use one of the extensions to render the complete report as a pdf, tiff, excel etc. We have an opportunity to render a list of claims and then embed the supporting docs for each of the claims within the report. We don't have an issue referencing jpg and gif images via URLs and then rendering them within the report after the grid information. We do have an issue rendering tiff images within the report.
You can insert an image object into SRS at design time and have it render and you can convert a complete report to a tiff image but I cannot find a way to be able to render a tiff image when running the report. All you get is the red "x".
My question is has anyone encountered the same issue and, if so, what did you do to resolve the issue?
I am having a main report having two subreports, say M1,S1 and S2 respectively.
The issue is S2 normally tend to go beyond one page, for all pages except first page of the of the subreport I am getting the page header and footer blank,
Actually this is not loading the ReportItems that are used in main report but it shows text boxes containing strings for eg . "My Name" and date functions eg Today()
What we've found is that when you have two reports where one navigates to the other, if you click on the second page of the second report, it takes you to the second page of the original report. If you navigate over to the subreport again and click for the second page, it works appropriately. This is definitely a no-go for production code and this may delay our ship date because I would think this is definitely undesirable.

So what I am looking for is both a workaround for now and if this is determined to be a bug, to be fixed in the next service pack.
I'm having problems displaying images generated by aspx pages from a report. It works fine if I point the external value to a static image on the web. I can paste the url to the page into IE and it generates the image with no issues. What am I doing wrong? I used a textbox to verify that the correct url is being generated (= Parameters!MYPROJECT_URL.Value & Parameters!MYPROJECT_NO.Value).
Are there any issues with generating external images with reporting services?
I have installed SP1 for MS 2005...shouldn't I see some sort of visual confirmation in Management studio when I click the Help Menu->about? saying the version is MS SQL Server 2005? how do I verify that the upgrade was successful?

I set them to their default values (ReportParameterTime to "[Czas].[Kalendarzowy].[Rok].&[2007]" - means Time Calendar Year 2007) but I am getting the exception above. I set parameters using this code:
Where parameterValues is a List<ReportExecution2005.ParameterValue>.
When I am using Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ReportViewer the report is generated without any problems. I can see one parameter to choose: "Kalendarzowy" (means adj. Calendar) and can select years, the default value is "2007".
What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this error ? Does anybody know ?
I guess nobodys heard of this? I'm using DTS to transform data to Excel spreadsheet. I have a DROP TABLE `data$` then a CREATE TABLE `data$` the old data is cleared but the new data is appended to the blank rows of the old data. So if I had 5 rows before now I have 10. And the new data has 5 blank rows before it.
I've tried deleting the excel file & replacing it with a new one. I've used the wizard thinking it was me but no good, it still happens.
Hi, I have an excel spreadsheet with several sheets. These sheets get populated with data from an external source database i.e. a third party application. I would like to create a SSIS package to read the data in each sheet. Please note that I do know how to create SSIS package to read an excel file with only one sheet. Is there a functionality in SSIS to loop though each sheet in one excel file? Thanks

On all lines with trailing spaces, they (the trailing spaces) have been removed. This is affecting my formatting of some reports and statements. We really want to use the report viewer as it has built in paging, print and export capabilities.
Why does it look okay in VS2005 but different in Report Viewer via URL Access and Report Manager?
Note: When I export as PDF, it looks okay.

I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?
My company has recently transitioned to a centralized Oracle database model. For the sake of security, the "powers that be" have also denied any query ability to any central tables. They refuse to create views or any other open tables for people to query. Instead, they provide a "tool" which people can use to download data - to Excel Spreadsheets. In the past, before this "improvement" lots of users in the local plants were able to query the old system to bring data into spreadsheets for reports, analysis, etc. Now the place is jammed to the hilt with linked spreadsheets - people do their "table joins" with linked cells and Excel VLookups (yuk). This is because the "powers that be" still demand that these reports, analysis, etc. be done.
I am trying to use SQL-DMO to create a table join between one of these Excel Data pulls and a MS SQL Server table in Excel so that I can join without VLookup. IS SQL-DMO the right way to go?
Has anyone done this? I think I am close, but I don't know how to use the SQL-DMO attached Excel table object I've created in a join. I can't see the object in MS Query. I am not adverse to doing the whole thing in VBA...
Here is another question. Most of these Data pulls using the "tool" (ball and chain, boat anchor) are done once a day or once a week. Would a better strategy be to create MS SQL server Tables that are dropped and re-written when the data is pulled into Excel? This would mean that the report worksheet does not have to import the Excel Data pull sheet to MS SQL when it updates its query.
I've a problem with excel destination spread sheet.I've created a package which pulls the data from sql server and load it into excel sheet.The main thing Ive to do is I've to create different destination tables(work sheets) for different data.i.e.,The source is a sql query which pulls the data in groupwise with group by clause.So,I've to create individual work sheet for each group with that data.How it can be done.Please, advice me.
I'm just starting with SSIS and want to create a reusable package which imports from an excel file which can be specified at runtime. I can expose the filename of the excel file as part of the connectionString property but the sheet is the openrowset property which is a custom property and therefore isn't exposed as part of the external configuration. Does this make sense? Is there an easy way to specify the sheet to import at run time?
