i have installed SQL RS and have a directory listing in the Reports directory via my browser. CAn anyone tell me which file / setting needs tweaking please?

Please help a teacher at wit's end.
I have created a site using Microsoft Expression Web. The site includes a create user page on which I placed the create user control (wizard), and a login page (which houses a login control) . When the site sits on my local host all works well and I render the pages on my browser locally: the first time a user is created the aspnetdb.mdf file is automatically created into my app_data folder, the new user information is saved and can be accessed on the login page etc. However, when I upload to my hosting server. (godaddy) I can navigate to each of these pages seamlessly but when I try to use the controls on either page I get similar errors:

I am not a programmer, and am just beginning to learn asp.net. However, I need to solve this problem. GoDaddy cannot help me, they say, because this is inside of EW and that is a MS problem. They have on the several ocassions I have contacted them, suggested compatibility issues (since they use SQL server 2003 and 2008 not 2005, or suggest that I need to script something to ensure that the .mdf file is recognized by their server, or that it was a database problem and that I may need a database programmer. They did tell me that it is important to note that the databases are hosted outside their server. I have not found anything in the EW side of this equation since most forums and support etc, deal more with the design part, than the online publishing part. I have tried to find a programmer locally that could help me, and have yet to find one. I am so close to being able to publish a site that meets our small school's needs, but cannot jump this one hurdle. Can anyone tell me what I can do?

I'm about to go absolutely nuts. I've tried so many things including:
1) Of course making sure Remote connections and both TCP/IP and named pipes are enabled for SQL 2005
2) Verified my connection string works. I even tested it in Enterprise Library using the tool and it connects successfully via windows authentication
3) Made sure of course my logged in user is a member of the administrator group and that my user in SQL 2005 logins has db_owner and full rights to the DB I am connecting to. I also made sure the NT AUTHORITY as well as the 3 sql service users have db_owner rights as well as the adminstrator in the SQL Server logins all have db_owner to the DB
4) Started the SQL Server Browser service, SQL Server DB engine, and SQL Server Agent
5) Made sure my site is setup right in IIS 7. I checked the connection string in there as well as it shows up in IIS7 in one of the sections. Using Windows authentication and it is enabled for my site
6) Tried running the .net site using both localhost (IIS) and also tried using the Visual Studio built-in web server. Both give this message still

Error - SQL Server Default Settings / Visual Web Developer Express 2008
May 28, 2008I would occasionally get the error below when trying to access a database in my project/App_Data folder using Visual Web Developer Express 2008.
I would re-boot and the problem would go away.
I now have the problem all the time and am unable to access my database file in the App_Data folder nor ASPNETDB.mdf.
I am not trying to access a remote database. I have not knowingly changed any settings.
Has anyone seen this problem?
Can anyone help?

Change Default Zoom Setting For Reports Viewed On Report Manager Web Site
Sep 14, 2007I've tried changing the default zoom setting by editing the RSReportServer.config file to include

under the

<Extension Name = "HTML4.0" etc.
However, all reports still show up with the zoom setting at 100% on the toolbar.
I stop and restart the Report Server Service and it comes up OK so I know my XML syntax is cool. What am I doing wrong?
This is on a 2005 Report Server. Reports are built in VS2005 Report Designer and deployed to the Report Server directly. Reports are accessed via IE7 browser.

Ok, there is no such program in this folder. The only thing in there is "SQL Server Error and Usage Reporting"...

Dec 10, 2007I get the following error and have been trying to figure out why I keep getting it. Initially, I had placed my project under wwwroot folder and ran it under IIS and it gave this error. Then I moved it to my local C drive and same thing. I am sharing this project with two other co-workers and all our config files and code files are same...they don't get this error but I do. I checked that SQL Server Client Network Utility has TCP/IP and the 'Named Pipes' enabled. I thought maybe I have setting in the Visual Studio 2005 that I'm not aware of that's causing this problem...it can't be the server since my co-workers aren't having this error and can't be anything in the code since all of us are sharing this project through vss. I dont' think using different version of .net framework can create this error. I changed the version from 2.0 to use 1.1x and it gave same error... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have copied my asp.net website from one server to another. they administrator made necessary modification on IIS manager . and able to see the website on browser. but now i can't loging to system using old password.
I tryed to create new password then also it gives error

the problem is that when the users print a report generated in Excel from the web app it prints in a veritcal split on paper...This is because the width exceeds the paper width....We do not want to redesign reports ...Is there any method to squeeze Excel data into the availiable page width ( This happens automatically in PDF so issues with it).....Can it be done in code ?

I got through the installation hoops for SQLEXPRESS Reporting Services in Vista and set up the default configurations in Report Services Configuration. I can explore the default directory for "Reports" in IIS7, but I can't browse in IE. I get the "The report server is not responding. verify that the report server..." message in the browser. This is after I migrated the app per the initial http 500 error using the preferred method - %systemroot%system32inetservAPPCMD.exe migrate config "Default Web Site/Reports".
I'm running Vista Ultimate, VS2005, SQLEXPRESS SP2. I've tried running IE as admin and also I've disabled UAC from gpedit.msc - ...Windows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PolicySecurity Options and unchecking UAC.

Scheduler Settings For Mailing / Generation Of Pdf Reports Only Under Conditions Of Data Being Present
Feb 11, 2008I have a requirement wherein PDF files are being rendered from an .rdl (report definition language), through the use of a SSRS scheduler automatically. The generated PDF file is further emailed to a mailing list, through the same scheduler. However, there are situations where the PDF is generated as an empty file (under certain specified circumstances) [through the automatic scheduler run]. In this situation, it is required not to email the PDF at all.
I would appreciate an input which lets me know how to prevent the generation of the PDF file, when there are no records in the dataset that binds to the .rdl.Alternatively, is there any indicator via which the scheduler can be alerted NOT to pick up files 0 KB in size?
Change Reporting Services Default URL (From Http://server/reports To Http://CompanyReports)

However, I'm having some problems configuring the "Welcome" screen on the server. Currently it looks like a default web directory, I can click through to Data Sources and a directory containing the current test reports:

Report Server Reports Authorization
Nov 28, 2007I am in the planning phase of building a Form Authenication Report Server project. The database contains the Role information for each report and for each user. The objective is to authenicate and authorize user so that only the authorized reports are available for the current user to view.
Base on my research these are my plans.
1. Deploy Reports onto the Report Server
2. Put Reports in folders to group different types of report (I am not sure is it possible to only the display authorized reports for the current user)
3. Design the custom Security extension to authenicate and authorize using the database

Not Able To View Reports On Report Server

I'm able to preview my report in Visual Studio and once I'm deploying it, it is getting deployed also on the Local server but when I'm using browser and trying to view the report, it is showing me following error message:
Unable to connect to the remote server
The attempted operation is not supported for the type of object referenced
I'm using Win XP Pro with a developer edition of Sql Server 2005 and administrator of computer. Not able to understand why in browser I'm not able to view reports.

Report Builder Language Settings
May 14, 2007How can I make Report Builder default to produce reports using UK date format (dd/mm/yyyy) rather than USA format (mm/dd/yyyy)?
When I produce reports using Visual Studio Report Designer, I can change the Language property to English (United Kingdom) and this works fine, but Report Builder does not seem to have this property.
I know I can change the date format in the text box, but I don't want the users to have to do this for every ad-hoc report they create.
For reference I believe all my regional settings on the server and client machines are all English (United Kingdom) and all the Internet Explorer settings and Database user settings.
Moving Report Builder Reports To New Server
Jun 22, 2007I have a development server setup with Report Builder that our users have been testing out. They have a number of reports that they have created on this dev server.
We now have our live environment all setup and I'd like to move their Report Builder reports to the new server for them so they don't have to recreate them.
Is this possible? If so, how?

Default Values Not Selected In URL Calls To Report Server

I am experiencing some problems calling reports in ReportServer using URL.
I have several multivalue parameters that are not being set through the URL. The values for this parameters should be the default ones that I have set in VS.
When I preview the report in VS, the default values are correctly set but, when using the URL call, I keep being prompt for this parameters and the report is not rendered until I set them manually.
Does anyone ever had this problem?

VS2003 - Deploying Reports - No Report Server Was Found At

We have many domain users who develop/deploy reports using VS2003 to our remote server at https://server/reportserver with no problems at all.
A single workstation on the domain that been used to develop reports cannot deploy though. The message looks fairly simple to diagnose "no report server was found at https://server/reportserver". I have checked dns and the servername resolves no problem. I have manaully edited and added the server to the hosts file also. I have updated and service packed all VS elements (VS2003 7.1.6030).
The server is contactable in all ways on this workstation, all ip/dns settings are the same as other domain workstations.
Can anyone point me in the direction of log files to look at, or if i am missing any basic options in VS. I have checked all deployment settings from other workstations.

Reporting Services :: Copy Subscription Settings From One Report To Another
Aug 8, 2013I have three SSRS reports that I modified. The original reports had several subscriptions associated with them. When I deployed the new reports, I placed the old reports into a folder called Archive and renamed them. Now I have these new reports with the original names of the first versions of the reports.
My question is is it possible to somehow replicate the schedules of the original reports to the new reports? There are about 30 subscriptions with between 5-10 recipients, and it would be a real pain to have to manually recreate those subscriptions.

I have developed some report in Sql Server Reporting services my Page orientation is portrait that is report height and width are 8.5 and 11 respectively and margins are set to 0.3 in when it is printed the pages are printed more that actually viewed Pages.
