Reports Option Does Not Show Up In The Context Menu

I have a a microsoft sql server installed on my xp::
9.00.3042.00 SP2 Developer Edition
not being able to get the "reports" option (for customer reports) in the context menu (rightclicking on a database name) does it have to do with the version of the sql server I am running?
I have been told otherwise and I have reinstalled sp2 twice..
any help will be appreciated.
I do have bunch of report definition language files that I would like to use in custom reports, but... story goes on.

Hi all,
I have two problems.
1. I downloaded ChartFXRSTrial and created one chart, and able to deploy it in ReportServer, but the problem is the reports are not showing there, i checked the configuration of .dll files in the help provided by chartFX, but couldn't get anything, so could help me on this.
2. How to give Tooltip for the X- axis or Y- axis values in the ReportServer , i tried using chartproperties of .rdl file, but didnt understand it. can help me on this, and one more i tried with Dundas too, If im giving tooltip as #valy then, it is showing samething in reportserver instead the values of 'Y-axis'.

Hi,
I've developed a couple of components now and I know I've seen this problem before but I can't remember how to solve it. My component is built, it has it's own (blank at the moment) UI and it seems to work fine except that there is no right click option to look at the advanced editor. The code is almost identical to another component I wrote that works just fine.
Any ideas anyone?

I have created a database with several tables. I want to create a database diagram to show the relationshipbetween the tables. Below are the steps from the SQL Server 2005 documentation on how to create a database diagram. The problem is that when I right click on the Database Diagrams folder I am only given two options. They are:"Working with SQL Server diagrams" and "Refresh"There is no menu choice to create a new database diagram. Can anyone tell me what the problem here is?
To create a new database diagramIn Object Explorer, right-click the Database Diagrams folder or any diagram in that folder.
Choose New Database Diagram on the shortcut menu.
The Add Table dialog box appears.
Select the required tables in the Tables list and click Add.
The tables are displayed graphically in the new database diagram.

Hi, i am using Vista and iis6. Evertything seems to be configured ok, but when i try to open this url: http://localhost/Reports/
i get the following error:
Server Error in '/Reports' Application.
Request is not available in this context
this error is when Report directory is set for "DefaultAppPool",
but in "ClassicAppPool" i get another error:
Error
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.

Hi I want to show only the month names in user selection criteria.
If we create a report parameter of type datetime it will let user to select day too.
I want only month and year to be selelected from dateteim control...

I'm trying to create a report in Sql Server 2005 Reporting Services where it will display duplicates rows in the reports. I'm unable to find the property that enables this. I would need something like HideDuplicates = false, but that is not the way it is intended to be used. If HideDuplicates is left blank, it seems to still hide duplicate values if the preceding row matches.
The report is a crosstab type, so we are using a Matrix for the report item. I'll illustrate with a simple example:

I have two seperate reports that have parameter clientkey in common. I want to show on one report these 2..first the one, then the 2nd below it. I've tried jsut using 2 tables but they overlap. I'm now trying a subreport, but I'm not sure how to do this or even if it is the right method.

We were having a standards meeting today at my company and we talked about the show/hide details button in the UI. We hide reports all the time because they are sub-reports and aren't meant to be run on their own. If we can't hide the "Show Details" button and we can't ban the user with security from running the sub-report because they need to run the Main report which runs the sub-report, then what do we do?
I'd think we have the have the ability to to hide things, or least a creative way to hide them; but I don't want to deploy sub-reports to wierd places just to get around this.
The following posts reference this topic, but didn't address it; yet raise this question.
Thoughts?

p.s. Just my own two cents, it would seem like a nice feature to be able to hide the "show details" button because there are advantages to hiding things.

I was curious to know if there is a way to create a report that will show when the last time all reports on our server were run. We have a lot of reports on our server made by multiple people that may or may not be in use anymore and we're trying to clean this up a bit. I am currently running SQL Server 2000. I realize there is a history that each report has and I'm wondering if it's possible to pull from that if it is stored somewhere that is accessible. Any help or direction would be much appreciated as I am not even sure where to start.....

I have a report that runs monthly and they want to see the previous 2 months of data. This data is stored no place other than the snapshot of the same report for the previous 2 months. Is there any way I can display the last 2 snapshots/history withing my report? Thanks.

I have some sensitive and non-sensitive info/fields in one of my reports. Is there a way to hide/show the info based on the logged in user? or do I have to create separte reports for each type of info like one for sensitive and another one for non-sensitive info.

I have a report that has three levels of grouping including headers (containing titles) and footers (containing summary values). I would like to programatically show/hide these header/footer sections based on a Show/Hide paramter. Is that possible? Currently I work around the problem by just having two physical reports (one with the header/footers, one without)

"SSIS 2012 Catalog doesn't have option to give read access to SSIS Catalog to view package run reports" ... Any luck allowing power developers / operators access to READ the SQL 2012 SSIS Execution Reports without granting them SSIS_Admin or Sysadmin?
According to this link posted back in 2011 (w/ Microsoft's feedback in Nov 2011: "We’re closing this issue as “Won’t Fix.” At this point the bug does not meet our bar for resolving prior to SQL Server 2012 RTM. As we approach the SQL Server 2012 release the bar for making code changes gets progressively higher." URL....Regarding Permissions to SSIS Catalog, here are the findings. We can give access in three ways:
1. READ Access – We can provide a user db_datareader access. With this the user can see the objects within the SSIS catalog database, but cannot see the reports.
2. SSIS_ADMIN – Add the user to this database role in SSISDB. With this the user can view the reports. But it also provides them privileges to modify catalog information which is not expected. We can add it using below script EXEC sp_addrolemember 'ssis_admin' , 'REDMONDPAIntelAnalyst'
3. SYSADMIN - Add the user to this server role. This will make the user an admin on the SQL server. This is not intended. Is there any method available which will have provision to give read only access to see SSIS Catalog package execution reports and not having modify Catalog access.

I have several reports in a Power View Gallery. In Gallery view, most of the reports show the "Open New Excel Workbook", the "Create Power View Report", and the "Manage Data Refresh" buttons on the right side of the report list. Why would some reports not have these buttons available? In the attached image you can see one report with the buttons and one without the buttons.

Hi everyone In my SqlServer Management Studio Express, on start up it shows the server type option, but greyed.So that value is fixed to database engine. ( I'm trying to work on an SqlServer Compact Edition database through the SSMStudiothat's why I'm trying to get this to change.)Besides, after I connect i go to the Object Explorer, expand the server node, and go to Replication.When i expand replication, i get the "Local Subscription" option, but nothng for Publication.( I want to work on Merge Replication, that's why I desparately need Publication to work)Am i missing something here? I did not install SqlServer separately, I only have what comes bundled with the Visual Studio 2005 Setup.

So I started a new job recently and have noticed a few strange configurations. Typically I would never mess with min memory per query option and index create memory option configuration because i just haven't seen any need to. My typical thought is that if it isn't broke... They have been modified on every single server in my environment.
From Books Online:
• This option is an advanced option and should be changed only by an experienced database administrator or certified SQL Server technician.
• The index create memory option is self-configuring and usually works without requiring adjustment. However, if you experience difficulties creating indexes, consider increasing the value of this option from its run value.

Hi,As subj says. A simple menu is defined in a table. But how to extract it?Heres the deal:Table menu has these 3 columns: menuid parent menudescOk this should be easy right? Hello,I am upgrading my (simple) cms from one menu layer to two layers. So i have two tables in de my DB- table_mainmenu- table_submenuThe submenu records are linked to the mainmenu records on the mainmenu id. So far so good. Heres my problem, i cant figure out how to change the order of the pages...!? What is the theory behind recording the stacking order of the menu items? I have a table called suppliers where i type my suppliers details.
I have also a table called supp_corellation in which i have the proffesion of my suppliers.
there is one column in the table of suppliers which it takes data from the table supp_corellation . Is it possible to choose the values from a list instead of typing in my table (lets say drop down list)???

I am now starting to create actual database projects in SSMS but the problem is that when I go to create add a new item by right-clicking on the project all i get is
Existing Item
New Connection
New Query
So, can anyone tell me how do I get the 'Add New Item' menu item to appear so I don't have do the riduculous way of creating a new query, then open another non-project script item from template explorer, then copy the contents from latter to former and then close the superfluous non-project script item.

Hello,
I installed SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition and SQL Server Management Studio Express. I am trying to set up merge replication. When I right-click the Replication folder in Object Explorer, the Configure Distribution menu item is not there. Also missing is the New - Publication menu item. All I can do is add New Subscriptions. I am logged in as admin with full priveledges. Am I missing something? Thanks!
FYI: I am running Windows XP SP2 and have installed SQL Server 2005 SP2. Thanks again...

I have created a report using SSRS 2005, and I am able to call another reports by clicking a column (using jump to report) from my first report. I would like to know is it possible to have a pulldown menu by right clicking a column at runtime in SSRS 2005? Please let me know

I have found in the SQL Server Logs under Management Menu that says something like this :
Login failed for user 'sa'. [CLIENT: 59.144.69.233], Time : 3/9/2006 3:41:53 PM
And for every second there is addition in the messages.
Why is it happening? Can anyone tell me?
