I would like to be able to run this as the last step in my backup processes. This would allow me to send my local backup file to the TSM server to write to tape.
I am looking for either a CMDEXEC Expert that could show me the syntax to run these commands via a direct command or a batch job. The other option would be to run these commands via the Powershell type.
This script will read the contents of a DB backup file, and generate a restore command.
Set the value of parameter @backup_path to point to the backup file, run in Query Analyzer, cut/paste the output into another Query Analyzer window, modify as necessary, and run.
This is just a barebones script to demo how this can be done. Modify as necessary to meet your own needs.
Works in SQL 2000 and 7.0. May work in SQL 2005, but it is not tested.

I am getting the following errors while executing the package.

Cannot open file. Log file is being used by another progroram.

Since mysqldump creates the file as raw sql file with thedatabase-table structures and the data in it, I thought using OSQL commandline utilities should work to out this whole database in MSSQL server.I have run this command from command line:osql -u sa -i mysqldump.sqlIt is going since yesterday. It has been almost 36 hours that it'sstarted. And in the mssql server, I see no database created yet. On thescreen of the command line, I see bunch of numbers are going in order. Iassume they are row numbers of the tables processed. But, if it is doing it,then where is it saving all this data ? Can a batch file that resides on another server be executed from a different machine? I have a batch file that resides on a server that I would like to run using SQL 2005 Integration Services. Is there anything I can do that would allow me to remotely execute this batch file and have it run in that environment.

I have tried mapping the remote machine to a network drive on my local machine and using that drive to execute the batch file in an Execute Process Task, but it does not work.
SSIS:
I have a FOR EACH loop grabbing files and writing fileName to a variable that is passed to the Process Task as an argument through an expression(%1 in the batch file above). The Working Directory is a mapped network drive. The Executable is also a network drive plus batch file name.
Any help would be appreciated.

i am using a OLE DB Source in my dataflow component and want to select rows from the source based on the Name I enter during execution time. I have created two variables,
enterName - String packageLevel (will store the name I enter)
myVar - String packageLevel. (to store the query)
I am assigning this query to the myVar variable, "Select * from db.Users where (UsrName = " + @[User::enterName] + " )"
Now in the OLE Db source, I have selected as Sql Command from Variable, and I am getting the variable, enterName,. I select that and when I click on OK am getting this error.

I am creating a separate data flow for each Foxpro table. It seems to be doing it ok but I am getting the following error message at the package validation stage:

Currently have a single hard coded file path to the SSRS config file which parses the file and provides the reporting services web service url. My question is how would i run this same query against 100s of servers that may or may not share the same file path as the one hard coded ?
Is there a way to query the registry to find the location of the config file of any server ? which could be on D, E, F, H, etc.
I know I can string together the address followed by "reports" and named instance if needed, but some instances may not have used the default virtual directory name (Reports).
Am I going about this the hard way ? Is there a location where the web service url exists in a table ? I could not locate anything in the Reporting service database. Basically need to inventory all of my reporting services url's.
I have a customer they are running raid 5 on a windows 2000 server one of the drives went bad. The customer replaced the drive and raid rebuilt the drive, every thing seamed to be fine but there is one database file that cannot be attached to SQL. The file is 15G so I know there is information the error states that the file is not a Primary file. Any clue on how to fix this?

Greetings, I have just arrived back into the country (NZ) and back into ASP.NET.
I am having trouble with the following:An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file (file location).../Database.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
It has only begun since i decided i wanted to use IIS, I realise VWD comes with its own localhost, but since it is only temporary, i wanted a permanent shortcut on my desktop to link to my intranet page.
Anyone have any ideas why i am getting the above error? have searched many places on the internet and not getting any closer.

Hi,I'm using the sql TOP command to retrieve the top N number of results where N is a value passed into the stored proc...eg: select TOP(@N) table.*from table...etc..if @N is not passed into the stored proc then by default i want it to select every row from the table. e.g to achieve something similar to...select table.*from table...how can i do this with with as few lines of code possible? thanks!

My problem is that it is counting every field in the coulmn UserIp even though every field under Inboundurl currently contains 'a' and SiteDomain has a value of something like google.com. Should it not be returning nothing? Thanks!

Suppose a company has ten branches and a total employees of 10,000 ones. At the employees' table, how may I calculate the difference between every employee's salary to the average salary of own branch and write to the other field of table, just with a SQL Command?
