Setting Up Dynamic WHERE Conditions For A Gridview Control
Jun 8, 2008
I have a simple gridview control set up that contains a single ControlParameter (a DropDownList) whose value is used in my SqlDataSource's SelectCommand:
SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [Wood_table] WHERE [wood_type] = ISNULL(@wood_type, [wood_type])"
The ISNULL check is so that I can select "ALL" from my dropdown and get all the rows with null values.
Everything works fine. Now what I'd like to do is exclude a specific wood_type value from the query if a checkbox control is selected. So what I'd like my select query to be when it's checked is something like
SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [Wood_table] WHERE [wood_type] = ISNULL(@wood_type, [wood_type]) AND @wood_type <> 'pine' "
So I'd like the option of excluding that certain type of wood from the default query (all rows). I thought it might be better to just have a value in the dropdown list that was "ALL except pine" but that doesn't seem like it would work, what would I bind that to?
I fooled around with having the CheckBox oncheckchanged event set a global based on the checked status, easy enough, but then how can I modify my SelectCommand? Should I just access the SqlDataSource object programmatically in my CheckBox handler and fiddle with the SelectCommand property? I tried this and it works, but this seems messy, now if I modify my GridView in Design mode I need to remember to update my SelectCommand strings in the CheckBox handler too. Is this the best way to do this?

Dear Forum,
I have a gridview control which is associated to a storedprocedure with a parameter(Customer Number) to be supplied. In the Define Custom Statement or stored procedure section I selected stored procedure and selected the stored procedure. The Define Parameter window I defaulted the Parameter Source as 'none' and default value as '%'. In the next screen, I do a test query which retuns the following error
There was an error executing the query. Please check the syntax of the command and if present, the type and values of the parameters and ensure that they are correct.
[Error 42000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Drive][SQL Server] Procedure 'SP_TransactionDetails' expects parameter '@cnum' which was not supplied.
I am using SQL server studio 2005 version2.0.
But the same procedure, if I use as SQL Statement, it works.
Can somebody help me.
Thanks,
Hidayath

Hi,
My formview or gridview control stops updating or deleting a record once the record has a null value.
I have table tblTest with the following
pkID int NOT NULL **IDENTITY COLUMN** string1 varchar(30) string2 varchar(30)
I then create a SqlDataSource with the statement:
Select * From [tblTest]
I have the insert, update and delete statements generated, and choose optimistic concurrency. I add a couple records of dummy data.
I then drag a Formview control onto the page, and bind it to the SqlDataSource I just created. I then fire it up in my browser, and I can then update, insert and delete records. However, as soon as I update a record with a null value, I can no longer update or delete that record.
So, if I had a record in my FormView like:
string1: foo string2: bar
I can update and delete normally. And when I update to:
string1: foo string2:
the database correctly inserts a null value into string2. However, once that null is in the record, I can't change anything about the record. If I try to delete the record, the FormView will then display the previous record, but I can still page to the record that should have been deleted, and it still exists in the db. If I try to update the record, the edits I make will not keep and the process will fail silently.
What am I doing wrong? Should i be binding to a different object?
Regards,
Chris

Hi,
I really need some help trying to figure out why my gridview is not working when I create a custom sql statement. It "executes" the query, but gives me an error message when I "test the query". Here is the error message: "There was an error executing the query. Please check the syntax of the command and if present, the types and values of the parameters and ensure they are correct. Syntax error: Expecting '.', identifier or quoted identifier."
Here is my sql statement:
SELECT TBLPROJECTS.NAME, TBLPROJECTTYPES.NAME AS PROJECTTYPE, TBLPROJECTS.DESCRIPTION, TBLUSERS_1.LOGIN AS OWNERNAME, TBLUSERS.LOGIN AS MANAGERNAME, TBLPROJECTS.START_DATE, TBLPROJECTS.END_DATE, TBLAOI.NAME AS AREAOFINTEREST, TBLPROJECTS.MANPOWER, TBLUNITS.NAME AS MANPOWERUNITFROM TBLPROJECTS INNER JOIN TBLAOI ON TBLPROJECTS.AOI_ID = TBLAOI.ID INNER JOIN TBLPROJECTTYPES ON TBLPROJECTS.PROJECTTYPE_ID = TBLPROJECTTYPES.ID INNER JOIN TBLUNITS ON TBLPROJECTS.MANPOWERUNITS_ID = TBLUNITS.ID INNER JOIN TBLUSERS ON TBLPROJECTS.MANAGER_ID = TBLUSERS.ID INNER JOIN TBLUSERS TBLUSERS_1 ON TBLPROJECTS.OWNER_ID = TBLUSERS_1.ID
I have tested it on a new project and still it does not work, I cannot find any problem, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
I have a gridview bound with a SQLDataSource. I am using the Update feature of the SQLDataSource to update a SQL Server database with values entered into the gridview. However I am not getting it to work. I believe this is due to the controls that contain the user entries are not the gridview itself, but rather child controls within the gridview. I have been using the names of the actual controls but nothing happens. Upon submit, the screen returns blank, and the database is not updated. Here is some code:
<asp:GridView ID="GridEditSettlement" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" BackColor="Navy"

<PagerStyle ForeColor="White" />
<AlternatingRowStyle BackColor="White" ForeColor="#333333" />
</asp:GridView>
<br />
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource_grid" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:DealCaptureDev %>" SelectCommand="sp_get_single_deal" SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure" UpdateCommand="Update trDealLeg Set PrimarySettlementPrice=@primarysettlement, AgreedSettlementprice=@agreedsettlement, LastUpdate=GetDate(), LastUpdateBy=Session('userid') Where LegID=@legid" EnableCaching="True" ConflictDetection="CompareAllValues" ProviderName="System.Data.SqlClient">
<SelectParameters>
<asp:QueryStringParameter DefaultValue="" Name="dealnum" QueryStringField="deal"
Type="String" />
</SelectParameters>
<UpdateParameters>
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="txtLegId" PropertyName="Text" Name="legId" />
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="txtPrimarySettlement" Name="primarysettlement" PropertyName="Text" />
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="txtAgreedSettlement" Name="agreedsettlement" PropertyName="Text"/>
<asp:SessionParameter DefaultValue="" Name="userid" SessionField="userid" />
</UpdateParameters>
</asp:SqlDataSource>
As seen above, controls such as txtPrimarySettlement are referenced but the update is not successful. The text boxes are within the GridEditSettlement gridview. In the .aspx code I cannot use FindControl (at least I don't think it will work).
So the questions are: Is it possible to reference the child controls, if so - how? Is there another way to do this, such as in the vb code behind - in the either the gridview's RowUpdating event or the SQLDataSource's Updating event.
What is the best approach? Anyone come up against this issue before?
Thanks,
KB

I've uploaded a new version of my article on Dynamic Search Conditionson http://www.sommarskog.se/dyn-search.html. I've revised the article tocover SQL 2005, and made a general overhaul of the content. There was a*very* embarrassing error that I've corrected.I've also added a new interesting method for static SQL. I've found that ifyou say:SELECT ...FROM tblWHERE (key1 = @key1 AND @key1 IS NOT NULL)OR (key2 = @key2 AND @key2 IS NOT NULL)OR (key3 = @key3 AND @key3 IS NOT NULL)This will use indexes if all columns are indexed, and furthermore SQLServer will decide at run-time which index(es) to access. The articleincludes a trick where you can combine this with the normal conditions fordynamic searches for very good performance under some circumstances.I also cover the new OPTION (RECOMPILE) to force statement recompile.I was hoping that it could lead to just as good query plans as dynamicSQL, but it's far cry from that.--Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, Join Bytes!Books Online for SQL Server 2005 athttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...oads/books.mspxBooks Online for SQL Server 2000 athttp://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodin...ions/books.mspx

I need to provide defaults and sometimes overrides for items in SQLDataSource's UpdateParameters. I am attempting to do this in a FormView's ItemUpdating and ItemInserting events as follows: //========================================================================
// FormView1_ItemUpdating:
//========================================================================
protected void FormView1_ItemUpdating(object sender, FormViewUpdateEventArgs e) {
// not sure if this is the bets place to put this or not?
dsDataSource.UpdateParameters["UpdatedTS"].DefaultValue = DateTime.Now.ToString();
dsDataSource.UpdateParameters["UpdatedUserID"].DefaultValue = ((csi.UserInfo)Session["UserInfo"]).QuotaUserID;
}
In the example above I am attempting to set new values for the parameters which will replace the existing values. I have found that using the DefaultValue property works ONLY if there is no current value for the parameter. Otherwise the values I specify are ingnored.The parameters of an ObjectDataSource provide a Value property but SQLDataSource parameters do not.How can I provide an override value without needing to place the value in the visible bound form element???If you can answer this you will be the FIRST person ever to answer one of my questions here!!!Thanks,Tony

I thought this would be easy. I have a repeater control and a sqldatasource control. I am trying to filter the select statement using DateTime.Now.ToString() and keep getting an invalid date string format. The control is on a content page in my asp.net site. On the master page this <%= DateTime.Now.ToLongDateString() %> works to display the current date. If I try and put <%= DateTime.Now.ToString() %> in the Default value of the SelectParameter it does not work. No intellisense either so I am assuming I am missing something. Here is the code... pretty basic really.
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater1" runat="server" DataSourceID="sqlDSnews">
<ItemTemplate>
<h3><%# Eval("newTitle")%></h3>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
<asp:SqlDataSource
ID="sqlDSnews"
runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:XXXX%>"
SelectCommand="SELECT [newTitle], [newsDetails], [dateExpires], [newsImage], [dateCreated] FROM [News] WHERE (([GroupID] = @GroupID) AND ([dateExpires] >= @dateExpires))">
<SelectParameters>
<asp:QueryStringParameter DefaultValue="0" Name="GroupID" QueryStringField="Gid" Type="Int32" />
<asp:Parameter Name="dateExpires" DefaultValue='<%= DateTime.Now.ToString() %> 'Type="DateTime" />
</SelectParameters>
</asp:SqlDataSource>
** NOTE the DateTime does not show up in blue - if that helps with a solution **

My question is fairly simple. When I join between two tables, I always use the ON syntax. For example:
SELECT
*
FROM
Users
JOIN UserRoles
ON (Users.UserRoleId = UserRoles.UserRoleId)
No problems there. However, if I then decide to further filter the selection based on some trait of the UserRole, I have two options: I can add the condition as a WHERE statement, or I can add the condition within the ON block.
--Version 1:
SELECT
*
FROM
Users
JOIN UserRoles
ON (Users.UserRoleId = UserRoles.UserRoleId)
WHERE
UserRoles.Active = 'TRUE'
-- Version 2
SELECT
*
FROM
Users
JOIN UserRoles
ON (Users.UserRoleId = UserRoles.UserRoleId
AND UserRoles.Active = 'TRUE')
So, the question is, which is faster/better, if either? The Query Analyzer shows the two queries have the exact same execution plan, which makes sense, since they're both joining the same tables. However, I'm wondering if adding the condition in the ON statement results in fewer rows the JOIN statement initially needs to join up, thus reducing the overall initial size of the results table before the WHERE conditions are applied.
So is there a difference, performance wise? I imagine that if Users had a thousand records, and UserRoles had 10 records, then the JOIN would create a cartesian product of the two tables, resulting in 10,000 records in the table before the WHERE conditions are applied. However, if only three of the UserRoles is set to Active, would that mean that the resulting table, before applying WHERE conditions, would only contain 3000 records?
Thanks for whatever information you can provide.

Hi, I am seeking a hopefully easy solution to spit back an error message when a user receives no results from a SQL server db with no results. My code looks like this What is in bold is the relevant subroutine for this problem I'm having. Partial Class collegedb_Default Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Protected Sub submit_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles submit.Click SqlDataSource1.SelectCommand = "SELECT * FROM [college_db] WHERE [name] like '%" & textbox1.Text & "%'" SqlDataSource1.DataBind() If (SqlDataSource1 = System.DBNull) Then no_match.Text = "Your search returned no results, try looking manually." End If End Sub Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load SqlDataSource1.SelectCommand = "SELECT * FROM [college_db] ORDER BY [name]" SqlDataSource1.DataBind() End Sub Protected Sub reset_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles reset.Click SqlDataSource1.SelectCommand = "SELECT * FROM [college_db] ORDER BY [name]" SqlDataSource1.DataBind() End SubEnd Class I'm probably doing this completely wrong, I'm a .net newb. Any help would be appreciated. Basically I have GridView spitting out info from a db upon Page Load, but i also have a search bar above that. The search function works, but when it returns nothing, I want an error message to be displayed. I have a label setup called "no_match" but I'm getting compiler errors. Also, next to the submit button, I also have another button (Protected sub reset) that I was hoping to be able to return all results back on the page, similar to if a user is just loading the page fresh. I'd think that my logic would be OK, by just repeating the source code from page_load, but that doens't work.The button just does nothing. One final question, unrelated. After I set this default.aspx page up, sorting by number on the bottom of gridview, ie. 1,2,3,4, etc, worked fine. But now that paging feature, as long with the sorting headers, don't work! I do notice on the status bar in the browser, that I receive an error that says, "error on page...and it referers to javascript:_doPostBack('GridView1, etc etc)...I have no clue why this happened. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)
UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.
My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."
I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.
Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?

I have a table
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[CmnLanguage]( [Id] [char](2) NOT NULL CONSTRAINT PkCmnLanguage_Id PRIMARY KEY, [EnglishName] [varchar](26) NOT NULL, [NativeName] [nvarchar](26) NOT NULL, [DirectionType] [smallint] NOT NULL, [IsVisible] [bit] NOT NULL, [CreatedDateTime] [datetime] NOT NULL DEFAULT GETDATE(), [ModifiedDateTime] [datetime] NULL)
We will use these 3 queries
select * from CmnLanguage where IsVisible = 0select * from CmnLanguage where IsVisible = 1select * from CmnLanguage
I want to make a method which handles these queries.
But at the back end on Stored Procedures
We have to write 3 queries
Which I don't want to do.
I want to minimize the queries and conditions
and want to just write one for these 3
Can any one do it?

Folks,
I'm having some real problems using the OR condition in a very simple SQL statement and could use your help or insight on where the problem lies, or perhaps a workaround.
I have a large flat table in a SQL 7 database with 10 million + records called "HISTORY". I have not installed either service pack 1 or 2. I'm attempting to run a query that references the following four fields which are all non-clustered keys:
EQUIPMENT_NO TEXT 12
CHASSIS_IN TEXT 12
CHASSIS TEXT 12
SVC_DATE_TIME SMALLDATETIME
Here's the SQL statement:
SELECT * FROM HISTORY WHERE (HISTORY.EQUIPMENT_NO = 'XYZ123' OR HISTORY.CHASSIS = 'XYZ123' OR HISTORY.CHASSIS_IN = 'XYZ123') AND SVC_DATE_TIME >= '01/15/00 00:00:00 AM' AND SVC_DATE_TIME <= '02/28/00 23:59:59 PM'
ORDER BY EQUIPMENT_NO
This query takes 11 min. 5 sec. inder the Query Analyzer and ultimately returns the 31 desired records.
If you remove the SVC_DATE_TIME criteria, about 350 records are returned in a matter of seconds. I've also tried variations on the date syntax such as '01/15/00', etc. with no change in the amount of time to execute.
Other queries such as a simple AND condition combining EQUIPMENT_NO and SVC_DATE_TIME are snappy.
Are there known problems/bugs with "OR" conditions in queries that anyone is aware of, particularly with parentheses; am I composing this query incorrectly? Is there some alternate syntax that would work as expected? I can't see where the query shouldn't execute quickly as expected, particularly with all indexed fields involved. I'm stumped! Lend me your expertise. Thanks much.

Hai frns small help needed.
I have a table called sample and i have the following requirement. i.e i need sum(credit) group by ssn no.
One special condition is as follows:
For each distinct ssn if "flag" has the same CX value,then out of all the records with the same CX value, the highest "credit" value is added to the sum for that "ssn" and the rest are ignored.
If while adding "credit" to the sum and if "credit" value is equal to zero then "sum" value is used for summing else "credit" value is used.
Can any one help me out in trying this logic. I have tried but i could'nt able embed the conditions inbetween the Sql statetment.
Here is the query is used
select * from sample
idssncreditflagsem
11010C90
21014C93
31014.5C92
41013.5C11
51024.2C33
61030C12
select ssn,flag,sum(case credit when 0 then sem else credit end) as sum from sam2
group by ssn,flag
ssn flag sum_val
101C13.5
103C12.0
102C34.2
101C98.5
The above output is wrong one.
Expected output
101 4.5+3.5=8.0
102 4.2
103 2.0
Any help would be appreciated

I have the following:
MAX(Vernum) AS test,
MAX(Case WHEN A2.AttrID = 2 AND A2.DefID = 10057945 THEN A2.ValStr END) AS TYPE_DOCUMENT
This works not perfect. In many cases I have more then one row and my query takes the max value of column Valstr. Thats is not exactly what I want. I'd like to have the value of Column Valstr of the row where column Vernum has the maximum value.
I've tried many things like:
MAX(Vernum) AS test,
MAX(Case WHEN A2.AttrID = 2 AND A2.DefID = 10057945 AND A2.Vernum=test THEN A2.ValStr END) AS TYPE_DOCUMENT
OR
MAX(Vernum) AS test,
MAX(Case WHEN A2.AttrID = 2 AND A2.DefID = 10057945 AND A2.Vernum=MAX(A2.Vernum) THEN A2.ValStr END) AS TYPE_DOCUMENT

1. Are stored procedures WITH ENCRYPTION slower than the ones withoutencryption?2. Should i put most restrictive conditions first or last in WHERE? Inwhich order does MSSQL execute conditions? Or MSSQL determents whatwould be best and does not bother with the way i sorted conditions?for example:SELECT *FROM [users]WHERE[user_id] = 1 AND[baned] = 0Is "[user_id] = 1" or "[baned] = 0" going to be executed first?

I am trying to do a select with the closest match.
Code Snippet
CREATE TABLE [#Person]
(
[PersonId] tinyint IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL
,[Height] char(2) NOT NULL
,[Weight] char(3) NOT NULL
,[Age] varchar(3) NOT NULL
,[HairColor] varchar(7) NOT NULL
,[EyeColor] varchar(7) NOT NULL
);
INSERT INTO [#Person] ([Height],[Weight],[Age],[HairColor],[EyeColor])
VALUES ('71', '150', '23', 'Brown', 'Blue');
INSERT INTO [#Person] ([Height],[Weight],[Age],[HairColor],[EyeColor])
VALUES ('70', '190', '22', 'Blonde', 'Brown');
INSERT INTO [#Person] ([Height],[Weight],[Age],[HairColor],[EyeColor])
VALUES ('69', '140', '20', 'Black', 'Brown');
INSERT INTO [#Person] ([Height],[Weight],[Age],[HairColor],[EyeColor])
VALUES ('65', '150', '21', 'Brown', 'Green');
SELECT * FROM [#Person]
WHERE
([Height] > '66' AND [Height] < '72')
AND ([Weight] > '150' OR [Weight] < '180')
AND ([Age] > '20' OR [Age] < '25')
AND ([HairColor] IN ('Brown', 'Blonde', 'Black'))
AND ([EyeColor] IN ('Blue', 'Brown', 'Green'));
DROP TABLE [#Person];
This simple example works great. But what if I wanted everybody who met 4 of the 5 conditions? I tried to think of a counting solutions, and then order by the count but I could quite get there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My live data is actual sales records with 20 some odd record types. I am hoping any solutions I find will scale well.

Hi All,
I'm very new to Integration Services. Self Learned this ETL tool based on my prior ETL tool knowledge.
Can you tell me how do write IF Then Else conditions for every column in my source and redirect to a single output?
Hey correction here ... i'm using flat file as my source
Thanks in Advance,

Hi,
I want to create a trigger that that is invoked when a certain condition is fulfilled. For instance:
I have 2 tables, PS and US with similar table structure. PS table contains a column called 'status'. Whenever the status column is updated from 2 to either 23, 24, 25 or 26, a new row, which contains the same data within the updated row of PS, will be inserted into the table US.
Can this be done? Thanks in advance.

Hi Craig/Kamal,
I got your email address from your web cast. I really enjoyed the web cast and found it to be
very informative.
Our company is planning to use SSIS (VS 2005 / SQL Server 2005). I have a quick question
regarding the product. I have looked for the information on the web, but was not able to find
relevant information.
We are getting Source data from two of our client in the form of Excel Sheet. These Excel sheets
Are generated using reporting services. On examining the excel sheet, I found out that the name
Of the columns contain data itself, so the names are not static such as Jan 2007 Sales, Feb 2007 Sales etc etc.
And even the number of columns are not static. It depends upon the range of date selected by the user.
I wanted to know, if there is a way to import Excel sheet using Integration Services by defining the position
Of column, instead of column name and I am not sure if there is a way for me to import excel with dynamic
Number of columns.
Your help in this respect is highly appreciated!
Thanks,
Hi Anthony, I am glad the Web cast was helpful.
Kamal and I have both moved on to other teams in MSFT and I am a little rusty in that area, though in general dynamic numbers of columns in any format is always tricky. I am just assuming its not feasible for you to try and get the source for SSIS a little closer to home, e.g. rather than using Excel output from Reporting Services, use the same/some form of the query/data source that RS is using.
I suggest you post a question on the SSIS forum on MSDN and you should get some good answers.

Hi,
I have a need to display on screen AND email a pdf report to email addresses specified at run time, executing the report with a parameter specified by the user. I have looked into data driven subscriptions, but it seems this is based on scheduling. Unfortunately for the majority of the project I will only have access to SQL 2005 Standard Edition (Production system is Enterprise), so I cannot investigate thoroughly.
So, is this possible using data driven subscriptions? Scenario is:
1. User enters parameter used for query, as well as email addresses.
2. Report is generated and displayed on screen.
3. Report is emailed to addresses specified by user.
Any tips on how to get this working?
Thanks
Mark Smith

If anyone could confirm...
SQL Server 2000 SP4 to multiple SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition on PDAs. My DB on SQL2k is published with a single dynamic row filter using host_name() on my 'parent' table and also join filters from parent to child tables. The row filter uses joins to other tables elsewhere that are not published to evaluate what data is allowed through the filter.
E.g. Published parent table that contains suppliers names, etc. while child table is suppliers' products. The filter queries host_name(s) linked to suppliers in unpublished table elsewhere.
First initial sync with snapshot is correct and as I expected - PDA receives only the data from parent (and thus child tables) that matches the row filter for the host_name provided.
However - in my scenario host_name <--> suppliers may later be updated E.g. more suppliers assigned to a PDA for use or vice versa. But when I merge the mobile DB, the new data is not downloaded? Tried re-running snapshot, etc., no change.
Question: I thought the filters would remain dynamic and be applied on each sync?
I run a 'harmless' update on parent table using TSQL e.g. "update table set 'X' = 'X'" and re-sync. Now the new parent records are downloaded - but the child records are not!
Question: I wonder why if parent records are supplied, why not child records?
If I delete existing DB and sync new, I get the updated snapshot and all is well - until more data added back at server...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible (or not) to have dynamic filters run during second or subsequent merge?

I have a sitemapcache that caches nodes with a sqlcachedependency. Everything is working fine but one thing. Every time you visit a forum, the viewcount is changed, therefore raising the trigger and dropping my cache object. How do i make it so that the trigger is only fired if I update the Title or Description field? ALTER TRIGGER [dbo].[sp_Forums_Topics_AspNet_SqlCacheNotification_Trigger] ON [dbo].[sp_Forums_Topics] FOR INSERT, UPDATE,DELETE AS BEGINSET NOCOUNT ONEXEC dbo.AspNet_SqlCacheUpdateChangeIdStoredProcedure N'sp_Forums_Topics'
