I have a simple SSIS routine that copies 27 tables from a source database to my SQL Server 2005 database. The routine works fine and all 27 tables show to be populated so I do not have any issues there. However, if you look at my log (I right-clicked on the SQL Server Agent job and viewed history) below, it only shows five tables being processed. Why does the history not show all 27 tables?

But, I have these dbo.Tables in a different Database "xyzDatabase". How can I copy each of these dbo.Tables to the another blank dbo.Table of Northwind Database?

The below query should produce all those customers who are in 'orginalerrorfiles' but not in 'hopefullyworks2'. 3 fields will be used as the check to make sure that the rows, that r identical won't be displayed but those that r different will be displayed.
Instead of doing that it just display everything in the table called 'orginalerrorfiles'.

I have created a System DSN using the SQL Server ODBC driver and configured it to point to my server and database.
When I access the newly created DSN, it should show the tables listing. However, I get the following screen:

I have just installed SQL Server 7 on a server. Everything was installed fine without any errors. The only problem occurs when I use Enterprise Manager, I right click on a table in the Northwinds database to open table and return all rows. The form pops up and no rows appear. Nothing in the table form works. I can view the records from Query Analyzer, and can also view them through Enterprise Manager when using a workstation client. This problem only occurs at the server. Any thoughts.

my table does not have primary key so i created a seperate index on each of the table.
I used the recommended tablediff utility and it works successfully. But its only show the difference of records in each table and does not copy rows from source to destination and destination to source table. I was expecting database1.dbo.table1 contains same records as in database1.dbo.table2.

I have a database owned by the sa. In the database are some tables owned by id1. When I login via SQL Analyzer as id1 and try to select from
the tables owned by id1, I get an error message 208 that the object does not exist. If I query 'select * from id1.table', I get my data. I thought that
if I owned the table I could always access it. Additional facts, id1 is defined as a login, id1 is defined as a user for the database with db_owner role.

My applications group wants to do a table transfer from one server to another as a means of refreshing the information on the target on a scheduled basis. That means that reports could be running against the target table during the transfer. This has introduced erroneous reports because the object transfer initially truncates the table, then transfers the data. If reports are running during the transfer, they might retrieve no data or only part of a table. I wrote a procedure to make a copy of the table to be transferred, then transfer that new table to the target machine, then drop the target table, then rename the transferred table. Now, I have the slightly smaller problem of doing a DROP TABLE when users are accessing the table. I can't set the database to 'dbo use only' because there are other tables in the database that must be available. Is this really a replication application?

How to identify an object using its objectid. In profiler and activity monitor we see objects like
1:12345
1:2345:453454
and so on...
I am sure they are not tables or indexes and I guess they are something related to pages, rowids etc.,
how do i interpret these objects (ids) and point back to the table (if it belongs to any table)
to summarize what I want
how to identify the type of object is being shown in profiler/activity monitor
how to identify to which table/index that object belongs/associated
where can i get object name for any object id that is shown in profiler/activity monitor. some time it shows some object ids in 100s of thousands for which i don't see any entry in sysobjects/sysindexes

Hi,Using VB.net I have created a custom object (hope my terminology is correct here), it’s just a class that defines a few string, integer, and hash table variables. After creating an instance of this class and populating it with data I need to be able to store this instance of my object in a sql server data base table. How do I do this? I saw an article that used the image data type to achieve this (code was in java unfortunately) is this the correct approach. Could you please give me some code examples

I have a problem with multiple databases on a server. I originally read another post that went into detail on this same error. After reading the post I decided to re-index the table to see if that would fix my issue. I started on Saturday by re-indexing a table on database 'a' - the process completed after that; I received another error on database 'b' on Monday i subsequently re-indexed all indexes on this database; today I have received the same message on database 'c' and 'd'. All post that I have read seem to point to an issue with only one database and not multiple databases. I have approximately 100 databases on this cluster - SQL 2000. I have an application where the columns in a datatable stored in a variable (as a dataset with one table in it) are dynamic. This means that the number of columns and their data types will vary. Also, I would like to access the column names. For these reasons it is not very practical to map the columns to variables.
Is there a way to use a Script Task within a For Each Loop (with ADO enumeration) to read the data row by row (presumably as a datarow) getting the column names and coloumn values by numeric (column) index?

We have sql sever 2000 as our backend database system. on the front, we have vb medical application screen for users to do the data entry.
for 7th screen, it is assoicated with table Case_Custom. user enter data througth 7th screen to populate Case_Custom table.
There is one column called Case_Custom.CaseID ( a foreign key to to parent table Cases) was populated automatically instead of user input.
However, I could not find which stored procedure, views or trigger or application code to populate this field? I have queried INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES, dbo.syscomments and did not find anything updating Case_Custom.CaseID.
I have contacted our app vendor and have got any answer from them yet.
Any ideas?

Hi There,This is related to a ms access database but since I use the SqlDataSource control I thought I should post here.I have a project that I was working on with this ms access db and using sql controls, everything was working just finesince one day I started getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" messages when I try to designa query or retrieve a schema, nothing works at design time anymore but at runtime everything is perfect, its a lotof work for me now to create columns,schemas and everything manually, I've tried reinstalling visualstudio, ado componentsbut nothing seems to fix it, did this ever happen to any of you guys?any tip is really appreciated thanks a lot

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question to, so if it's not, please accept my apologies.
I'm working in SQL Server 2005 with a database that was migrated to 2005 from SQL Server 2000. I have to alter a trigger on a table for some functionality changes, and when I modify the trigger and then access it through the application the database is working with, I receive this error:
There was a error in the [stored procedure name] procedure. Error Number: -2147217900 Error Description: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The definition of object '[trigger name]' has changed since it was compiled.
[stored procedure name] and [trigger name] are where the actual names appear in the message.
I've tried running sp_recompile on the trigger, stored procedure, and table that are associated with this, and nothing works. I have dropped the trigger, which allows the save process to complete (but doesn't perform the required functionality, of course), and then re-created the trigger, but the error message still comes up. The compatibility level for the database is SQL Server 2000 (80) (as it was migrated from SQL Server 2000 as I mentioned above).
Has anyone seen this, and if so, how can I fix it?

I have used that in remaining steps of same job...i ran the job

I'm using SQL Server 2008R2. I am developing a database which requires access to data from other servers. So far I have been creating views using OPENQUERY (where there's a performance benefit) to select specifically the columns I want. Generally, for my purposes, I find these OPENQUERY based views to perform better (some times significantly so) to simple SELECT <COLUMNS> FROM <SERVER>.<DATABASE>.<SCHEMA>.<TABLE> WHERE <Where clause Statements> format views. My understanding is that this is because an OPENQUERY "pushes" the query processing to the remote server and simply returns the final result set to the local server i.e. there's no cross-server join/synchronization going on.
My question is, if I were to create a Synonym for a table object on the remote server, where does the processing happen if I query from this Synonym or create a join with this synonym to a table in my local database?Essentially, I am trying to understand if there are any "hidden gotcha's" primarily from a performance perspective, to using synonyms.
Help! I have posted this before and I had hoped that the VS2005 SP1 would help my problem. It didn't. My code is shown below. I have dropped a sqlconnection, sqldataadapter and a strongly-typed dataset from the toolbox onto the component designer for my page and written my code. It compiles without any errors but at runtine I receive the system error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." The error occurs at the first line where the sqldataadapter is mentioned. I have shufflled the code and the error still occurs at first mention of the dataadapter. I have set parameters to a simple string such as "myemail." It hasn't helped. Hi,
I am trying to develop a custom algorithm. I have implemented and tested training methods, however I fail at prediction phase. When I try to run a prediction query against a model created with my algorithm I get:

Obtained object of type: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdDataReader
COM error: COM error: DMPluginWrapper; Object reference not set to an instance of an object..
Execution complete
I know this is not very descriptive, but I have seen that algorith doesn't even executes my Predict(..) function (I can test this by logging to a text file)
So the problem is this, when I run prediction query DMPluginWrapper gives exception -I think- even before calling my custom method.
As I said it is not a very descriptive message but I hope I have hit a general issue.
