Apr 21, 1999Can someone help me out to uninstall service pack 5a on SQL server 6.5? We have few problems with this new service pack. Stored procedures could not delete temporary tables created in them.
Can I load the backup databases from this service pack(5a) to service pack 4 servers?

SQL Server 2005 Express - Service Pack 2 Uninstall !??

On my backup server running Symantec BackupExec 11D, I wanted to install Service Pack 2 for SQL Server 2005 Express. I started performing the update using "Windows Update", but cancelled the upgrade process just before it started to install (right after the downloading/verifying download phase of Windows update).
Now when I try to find the SP2 update using Windows Update, it doesnt show up on the update website. Rebooting the server doesnt help. I manually downloaded the file for SQL 2005 Express SP2 and tried installing it, but it says "the component is already installed" and I have to exit the process.
BackupExec 11D is running fine as of now, and it might not face problems later.. but I am not sure. Is there any way to uninstall SP2 and re-install it again!??
Any guidance/pointers is greatly appreciated!

Unable To Completely Uninstall Advanced SQL Server- Report Server
Jul 5, 20061) I uninstalled Advanced SQL with Report Server to install 2005 SQL Developers Editions.
2) For some reason I am unable to completely uninstall Express Report Server.
3) Configuration Manager is still showing SQL Exp Report Server, even though I uninstalled Advanced Server.
4)I tried to remove though A/R programs (using my 2005 DE) - I see it listed but I receive the following error:The setup failed to read IISmime maptable the error code is -2147024893.
5) When I try to use 2005 Report Service Config Manager, I receive the following error: An unknown error in WMI Provider Error code 80040219 wmi provider.
So I am unable to setup my 2005 SQL DE Report Server.
Any ideas on uninstalling Express Report Server...This might be part of my problem.

MSDTC Service Won't Start After Uninstall Of SQL 6.5
Jan 17, 2000I just uninstalled SQL 6.5 from my server (Now totally running in 7.0 Mode) and now I can't get the MSDTC service to start again. I get the error "Could not initialize the MS DTC XA transaction manager" (In Application Log)... and error "The MSDTC service terminated with service-specific error 3221229574." (In system log). I believe that somehow MSDTC got uninstalled and I don't know how to reinstall only MSDTC? Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Reporting Services starting SKU: Standard.
From the Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
I can see all other things configured except Encryption Keys(blue sign)
Initialization(Grey sign) and Execution Acct(Yellow sign)
My windows Service Identity is using :
NT AuthorityNetworkService
Builtin Acct :NetworkService
Web Service Identity :-
ASP.NET Service Acct :- NT AuthorityNetworkService
DataBase Setup :- Credentials Type :- Service Credentials

when the windows finish restarting i open the Event viewer and see that what coused it is the error :

Aug 20, 2015I needed to re-install the entire sql server 2005, I used add/remove program. everything went normal, except reporting service. I deleted the entire upper sql server directory, rebooted the box, however, it still shows up in services, even though the path does not exist. I tried to reinstall it again, but it complains about name already exists. I cannot change the name, but I am not able to find how I can remove it and reinstall it properly.

I am in weired move kindly help me out..I created report using sql server 2005 Reporting services..At one stage it is working fine with proper parameter but due to bad input parameter my report goes in hang mode..so i went to my DB server and restart my reporting service and then MSSQLSERVER I dont remember sequence (may be vice versa) now I am not able to get report when i am passing right parameter..I went to google and only I came to know that due to sequence of restart of services will cause this error..

Mar 23, 2007This error is being displayed in the eventlog every minute. Any ideas on what it is referring too? I reviewed some posts but most point to specific problems of report server not running, or receiving this error during a run. We are receiving no errors at all. However this is jamming up the event viewer to make troubleshooting other issues very diffucult.

Report Server Service Stopping Unexpectedly
Jul 12, 2007we run ssrs 2005 sp2 hotfix applied - how do we troubleshoot a problem where the report server service is stopping unexpectedly several times a day. When this happens please tell me what happens to the reports that are currently running. I believe that
1) a current subscription that is running will fail - not sure if it will try to restart itself 3 times or not
2) connection to the report server db cannot be made when that occurs
this is a huge problem for us and we dont know what is causing it or how to fix it. Any suggestions would help. I can tell you that our customers flood the server with subscriptions
Report Server Windows Service Problem

I am my department's Sys Admin and a relativelty Noobie when it comes to SQL server. So I recently Installed SQL Server 2005 on a Win2003 Server. During install I set my domain account as the service account login. After the DB and Web Application were setup and running good I realized that the SQL service accounts were logging in as my domain account. Not a good thing right? So in SQL Server Configuration Manager I changed the services from logging on as my domain account to the local system account instead.
Enter the problem: now I notice in application event viewer the Report Server Windows Service is erroring every minute. The error reads "Report server windows service cannot connect to the report server database." Im sure this was caused by me changing what account the report server service logs in as and local system account not having appropriate permissions. So what account should the report server windows service log in as? I see where to change the windows report service identity in Configure Report Server but I am not able to backup an encryption key? Thanks in advance!

Jan 30, 2007I have a test server running both 2000 and 2005 Reporting Services. Each day I have to restart the Report Server Windows service for the 2005 Report Server. This is the error I get when I try to access the Report Manager

After I start the Report Server Windows service using the Report Services Configuration tool I can access the 2005 Report Manager without errors. The windows service start up type is set to automatic.

I have installed SQL Server Reporting Service on window xp. everything working fine except one thing.
I have installed sql server with my a/c. my a/c have admin rights. when i giving http://dineshpatel/reports it is displaying page but Report Builder and other option are not displaying. I hope i don't have admin rights.
I have checked with local administrator login also but same problem.
what additional setting are require for admin rights?

I am using 'SQL Server 2005 Reporting Service' in my project. I am using sub-reports in many cases. Whenever I export such reports containing sub-reports to 'Excel' format which is the major client requirement in our project, the exported excel file shows 'Subreports within table/matrix cells are ignored.'
Can anybody tell me the solution for this? If not possible in reporting service then is there any other way to get data in excel format?

Sep 24, 2006Hi,I’m having a problem uninstalling SQL Server 2005. I went into add/remove programs,clicked on each of the entries for all of the associated services to remove them,then removed SQL Server 2005, rebooted, and the tasks are still listed in services.There are no entries in add/remove programs.I’m removing SQL Server in order to install Visual Studio first - I’ve still gota problem with the “Package Load Failure” that I posted about last week:http://forums.asp.net/thread/1402873.aspxCan anyone give me a clue as to how I can completely remove SQL Server?I’m running Win 2k SP4.Thanks!

Oct 27, 2006Hi all,Afetr a bad install of sql server 2005 which failed due to WMI problem; something that seems unfixable save a reinstall of windows.I am now left with a part installion of sql server 2005. From add/remove programs clicking 'remove' activates nothing as does change. However the files are there in program files.At start up I get multiple fatal errors etc.Does anyone know how I can unistall SQL server 2005 completely - perhaps from the command line?Or..how could I stop SQL server from trying to start at start up?All help most appreciated.TFM

Jul 30, 2007I uninstalled SQL Server 2005 through "Add or Remove Programs". Apparently I did something wrong. The files are gone, but when I try to reinstall, the installer says SQL Server already exists, and won't install. When I go to the Configuration Manager, it shows all the components, but not of the services are started - or will start. How do I clean this up without wiping my drive and reinstalling my OS?
