why wouldn't an upstream column show up in the merge editor?
I can see the column in the metadata by clicking the green arrow going into the merge, but it doesn't not show up as a selectable value in any of the drop downs.
I have query which retrieves multiple column vary from 5 to 15 based on input parameter passed.I am using table to map all this column. If column is not retrieved in the dataset(I am not talking abt Null data but column is completely missing) then I want to hide it in my report.
Any idea why I cannot see (in Enterprise Manager) all the coulmns of a selected table? All I get is * all columns - not each one, meaning I cannot select individual columns in my new view. Could it be the version? I am running SQL 7.0 SP1
I have a matrix report that I am using with MonthName(Fields!Month.Value) across the top of the report. However, when there is no data under the column, the month is skipped. So, for example, I get this:
SELECT DISTINCT CASE WHEN SM.SERVICE_TYPE_N = 1 THEN 'LABORATORY' WHEN SM.SERVICE_TYPE_N = 2 THEN 'PODIATRY' WHEN SM.SERVICE_TYPE_N = 3 THEN 'ADMINISTRATION' WHEN SM.SERVICE_TYPE_N = 4 THEN 'DIET' WHEN SM.SERVICE_TYPE_N = 5 THEN 'DENTAL'
[Code] ....
In the above query i need to calculate 100%,30% and percentage other than 100 and 30 and show them in separate columns how to do that?
1)ROUND(SUM(BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M),2)AS [100_PERCENT] WHERE BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M=BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M
2)ROUND(SUM(BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M),2)AS [30_PERCENT] WHERE AND BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M=BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M * 0.30
3) ROUND(SUM(BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M),2)AS [OTHER_CONCESSION_PERCENT] WHERE BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M between BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M*0.001 and BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M*0.299 OR BM.CONCESSION_AMOUNT_M between BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M*0.301 and BM.BILL_AMOUNT_M*0.999
i created a layout in visual studio 2005 with the proper dimensions to print on an Avery 5160 label sheet (3 labels across and 10 down)
in the Body properties, i set Columns to 3, ColumnSpacing to 0.125", and Size 2.625" (W) & 1" (H).
i created a list table with a text box of the same dimension as the Size in the Body.
the thing is when i go to preview the report in visual studio, it just shows all the data but only in one column, but if i click the Print Layout button, it shows all 3 columns, then when i print it, it works! so i assumed that this was just the way visual studio handled the data. no big deal...
the problem is when i upload this to the reporting services on our local intranet and run it from the reporting services, it shows only one column (the left most only) and prints that way too; it's almost like i need a Print Layout button on the reporting services (which there isn't one).
is there something that i need to set so that it will print in 3-column form from the reporting services so people can print on label sheets?
i hope this makes sense. also, i tested this on the same printer just to make sure it wasn't hardware.
I have a column called email_address in table: mailing_list and another column called member_email in table: members and I want to do a SELECt to list the result of both columns in a new column
I'm using IS with SQL Server 2005. I need to know how to merge two columns (or more) into a single on as output.
For example:
#ID#Value1#Value2#
would be the input table. Now I want to map the column Value1 as 'Value' - as well as the column 'Value2' so there is only one output - and two rows generated by one row of the originate table.
I tried to map those columns to the same name, but IS refused that. My aim is to transform data from an old table to a new, relational one where all those values have to fit into relational tables (n:m relations).
Hello everybody! I´m trying to put together two columns of integer into one. They are coming from the same source table, so the "merge"-Task doesn´t work. This is what they look like: column1: <123> column2: <0123456> The result should be: merged_column: <1230123456> Is there a task for that kind of operation or do I have to write a script? I would like do do that within the data flow.
Hi.. is it possible to merge 2 columns into 1 to hold data like this... When the user imports the file in particular file they will be ACT_ID1 Tot_ACT1 ACT_ID2 TOT_ACT2 ...... until 15 BB 1245.45 CT some amount ..... The 2 letter character may change prob for each file.. at leat i know of somethem may change So while i transfer the data to the production database can is it possible to do some thing like COL1 BB 1245.45 COL2 CT 12456.12 etc..
I have a table with 2 columns A1 and Firm. A1 holds "dirty data" and there are no NULL values. Firm holds "clean data" for some of the rows in A1 but not for all. So there are quite a few NULL values in this column. I want to replace the value in A1 if there is any data in Firm (value <> NULL).
Rigth now, I solve this issue with a simple VB.NET script: Public Class ScriptMain Inherits UserComponent Public Overrides Sub Input0_ProcessInputRow(ByVal Row As Input0Buffer) ' If Row.Firm_IsNull Then Row.Standard = Row.A1 Else Row.Standard = Row.Firm End If ' End SubEnd Class
Any ideas how to solve this issue without custome code?
i have 3 tables (T1, T2, T3), each with the same structure: ID1 -> char(10) ID2 -> char(12) NULL ID3 -> char(10) Value1 -> money Value2 -> money Value3 -> money Note1 -> Text Note2 -> Text
ID1+ID2+ID3 is the clusterd unique key in each table
what i want: ID1, ID2, ID3 (with distinct occurencies of all 3 tables), T1.Value2, T2.Value2, T2.Value3, T3.Value1, T3.Note1
what i tried is to get all possible rows with
SELECT ID1,ID2,ID3 FROM T1 UNION SELECT ID1,ID2,ID3 FROM T2 UNION SELECT ID1,ID2,ID3 FROM T3
but i dont know how to join or add the other columns. maybe with
WITH RowList (ID1,ID2,ID3) AS ( ... code above.... ) SELECT ...
I have two temp. tables. I am trying to show the agents how makes the sales and the ones how didnt make sales based on the time that they clock in. One table is called #sales which has only the agents that make sales and other tables is #hours which has both agents that do not make sale. the problem is that I can not get both agents to show on my report. I tried different ways but I could not. #sales table uses (select statement from AmountStats table that stores only the agents who make sale). #hours table uses different tables to store all gents who makes sale and ones that are not making sale.Â
I have this code below, one thing i am trying to do is merge 2 columns, it seems what i have now is suming them can someone give me a hint or two thanks.
Code Snippet SELECT a.*, b.*, a.Company + b.[Customer Suffix] AS AdditionalColumn FROM ( SELECT abCUSA AS Company, abCUSB AS Account, 0 AS DeliverTo, abcnam AS [Account Name], abcad1 AS [Line Address 1], abcad2 AS [Line Address 2], abcad3 AS [Line Address 3], abcad4 AS [Line Address 4] FROM LIVEAS400.S65C422B.WRFDTA.PARNADR ) a inner JOIN ( SELECT SLDATE as Date, SLCUSA as [Compny Number], SLCUSB as [Customer Suffix], SLDELN as [Deliber To Number], SLTREF as [Trans Reference], SLCNAM as [Customer Name], -- SLTRT2 as [Trans type], CASE WHEN SLTRT2 IN (92, 93, 94, 95, 98) THEN SLGDSV * -1 ELSE SLGDSV END as [Goods Value], CASE WHEN SLTRT2 IN (92, 93, 94, 95, 98) THEN SLVATV * -1 ELSE SLVATV END as [VAT], CASE WHEN SLTRT2 IN (92, 93, 94, 95, 98) THEN SLTOTV * -1 ELSE SLTOTV END as Total, SLDESC as [Trans Description] FROM LIVEAS400.S65C422B.WRFDTA.SQLSLDGR ) b ON a.Account = b.[Customer Suffix]
I am experiencing a wired problem withe merge replication and SQL 2000 SP4.
We had replication working for 4 years without a problem, one of the table that we replicate has been growing in columns, now it has 55 columns.
I have noticed a problem, when I update the last column on the table and waits for the change to be updated on the subscriber the change is not there. But if I replicate the first 40 columns it works.
Changes made:
1) Upgraded to SP4 2) Added some extra fields using sp_addreplcolumn
I manage complete online system for two locations, connected via dialup lease line. I have to used merge replication for the same data should be at both locations. It is working fine, I don’t like disturbe it but current requirement is addition of two column in one table which one as also use in merge replication.
How I can add aforesaid columns in table x, column name c1 numeric , c2 character?
"Adding an identity column to a published table is not supported, because it can result in non-convergence when the column is replicated to the Subscriber. The values in the identity column at the Publisher depend on the order in which the rows for the affected table are physically stored. The rows might be stored differently at the Subscriber; therefore the value for the identity column can be different for the same rows."
I don't understand...
If I create a table with an identity column and publish it. Can the values on the subscriber be different when the data is replicated?
Suppose I have a this table:
1 Name1 2 Name2 3 Name3
Column 1 is identity field and column 2 the name of employees.
If I publish this table , the data can be inserted on the subscriber .pe, with 2 name1 and 1 name3 and 1 name2?
What about if the identify fields is a primary key?
I m extracting data from Excel-sheet and inserting into SQL Server 2005 Database using SSIS(SQL Server Integration services). Having 2 columns in excel-sheet and want to insert those into 1 column of SQL Table. Can anyone help me about, how can I insert data from 2 columns into 1 column in SSIS. Is Export/ Import column or Copy Column or Merge will work..
Request is to merge or join or case stmt or union or... from up to four unique columns all in separate tables to new combined table (matrix) of results from said.
I read the BOL on how the publisher will had out identity ranges to subscribers, but it was not clear if this was also the case for anonymous subscribers. Will merge replication with identity columns work with anonymous subscribers that sync via HTTPS?
I'm working on a script to merge multiple columns(30) into a single column separated by a semicolons, but I'm getting the following error below. I tried to convert to the correct value. but I'm still getting an error.
Error: "Conversion failed when converting the varchar value ';' to data type tinyint".
I have database on SQL Server 2000 set up with a merge publication. This publication is configured with a number of dynamic filters toreduce the amount of data sent to each client. Each client has ananonymous pull subscription. The merge process can be triggered by thewindows sync manager and my application. To improve performance I have created some helper tables to hold themapping between user login and primary keys of selected entities. For the replicated data to be correct the contents of the helper tablesneeds to be up to date.I need to fire off a stored procedure on the publisher beforereplication starts to verify that this data is up to date. I can notsee any documented way of doing this however I have been experimentingwith some unorthodox systems.Firstly has anyone any ideas?I have been considering adding a trigger to some of the tables used bythe Microsoft replication code - yes I know this is very nasty. My problems arise because executing this stored procedure will causesome data to be updated. In updating data we could create a newgeneration in the database. I must therefore run my stored procedurebefore any the Microsoft code makes any generation checks / updates.Anyone done anything similar, Anyone have any better ideas?Any comments would be gratefully received.
Case: Exporting Report to PDF/Printing/TIFF Report: Contains 1 table with 19 Columns. 1 column is static, the other 18 are visible at the users descretion. Report when printed/exported to pdf spans 2 pages naturally, 16 on the first page, 3 on the second, and the column widths have been adjusted to provide a perfect page span .
User A elects to hide two of the columns, and show the rest. The report complies and the viewable version is perfect, the excel export is perfect.. the PDF export on the first page causes every fith column, starting with the last column that was hidden to be expanded to take up additional width. On the spanned page, it renders the first column on that page correctly, then there is a white space gap equal to the width of the hidden columns and then the rest of the cells show with the last column expanded to take up the same width that the original 2 columns were going to take up, plus its width.
We have tried several different settings to see if it helps this issue or makes it worse. So far cangrow/canshrink/keep together have made no impact. It is not possible to increase the page size due to limited page size selection availablility for the client. There are far too many combinations of what the user can elect to show or hide to put together different tables to show and hide on the same report to remove this effect.
Any help or suggestion on this issue would be appreciated
I'm using merge replication to maintain a backup copy of my main (publisher)MSDE database. A push subscription periodically (1 per minute) updates the backup DB. It's intended that if the main db goes down then the backup (subscription) db can be configured as a publisher. This must all be performed via scripting. The initial configuration of the main publisher and subscription is controlled via scripting, which works fine. The problems occur when I try to configure the subsciber to become a publisher. A script is executed on the subscriber but fails at the point when it's configuring the publisher detail. The error is something like "unable to configure a publication for a database setup as an anonymous subscription". I'm guessing that there are subscritpion artifacts added to the database which need to be removed before it can be configured as a new publisher.
