Why Do Most Of The Border Styles Act Like You Chose Solid?
Nov 20, 2007except for dots and dashes, it seems like the fancier border styles on a text box (like "Groove") all act like the "Solid" border style. Am I missing an add in?

Dec 15, 2006I am amazed that we cannot use our own styles?. There is only a predefined set of styles in HTMViewer.css to which we cannot add our own style names and use it for a textbox?

How Solid Is Sql Server Everywhere?
Aug 2, 2006I'm considering using SSEv in an embedded database application used by thousands of users, and supported by just me, so it has to be super solid.
I have never considered Jet, because it seems to have a real reputation for not being solid, and getting corrupted.
Can anyone offer any opinions on this question for SSEv?

Sharing Styles Between Reports (reporting Objects)

To date I have found no way of defining styles that can be shared either between objects or between reports.
I am looking for the concept of the rdl making a reference to an external css (or equivalent) file. This would allow for me to define a font or image external to the rdl and shared among all my reports. Currently if I want to change my header image, I need to edit 50 rdl files across the reporting suite.
What work arounds are available for this? Is this a coming feature enhancement? If so when? Does the reporting team publish a list of future enhancments?
I know crystal and few other reporting packages have the concept of css or style external to the report.

Solid Book For Visual Basic Used In SSIS
Jun 25, 2007I am looking for feedback, I am an evil DBA comfortable with DTS and currently using SSIS, but looking to use SSIS to it full potential. I am in serious need of a book that details VB or C#.
I do not want to use the old methods from 2000. Appreciate any suggestions.
Currently have WROX 'Professional SQL Server 2005 Integration Services', but alas limited VB use. I have a need to understand the background operations taht only VB or C# could provide.
Data Extraction From A Source Using SOLID ODBC Driver

Hi all,
We are using a package to extract data from a source build on some image using SOLID ODBC 5.2 driver.
When we tried to extract data through MS SSIS(SQL Server Integration Services) package using SOLID 5.2 ODBC driver connection, it throws an error as mentioned below:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Error: 0xC02090F5 at Data Flow Task, DataReader Source [1]: The component "DataReader Source" (1) was unable to process the data.
Error: 0xC0047038 at Data Flow Task, DTS.Pipeline: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED.
The PrimeOutput method on component "DataReader Source" (1) returned error code 0xC02090F5. The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure.
Error: 0xC0047021 at Data Flow Task, DTS.Pipeline: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_THREADFAILED. Thread "SourceThread0" has exited with error code 0xC0047038. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the thread has exited.
Also, we tried the same in a Excel sheet using the SOLID 5.2 ODBC driver it is working fine.
Does the SOLID ODBC driver support .Net framework or do we need to install any other components??

Although I am setting the Border Style for each & every cell and /or Merge cells ,But it is not reflected in the Reports Pre-view for Bottom ,Top & Right Sides in the Reports?Any clue why this is happening & for removing this & getting the right results would be helpful .

Server Name Change. Your Recommendations Needed On A Solid Process To Follow.
Dec 20, 1999We have an NT 4.0 sp4 server with Sql 6.5, sp4 and its server name needs to be changed. This server will also be upgraded to Sql 7.0 sp1 too.
Is changing the server name easier/more efficient etc in 65 or 70?
Does anyone have any recommendations and or tips to follow in avoiding pitfalls, headaches etc?
Additional info: Replication is not involved here. If we upgrade to 70 first, it will be a "One-computer upgrade" process followed. BOL for 70 doesn't mention anything about a Server Name change. BOL for 65 does have "How to change to the current server name in the 6.x master database..." I was hoping to find specific details on the 'how to...' but was surprised that 70 doesn't cover this.
I have also seen a Jan 15 '99 posting by Sharon Dooley under "Machine Rename" which raises concerns that MS missed the boat on Server Name changes.
Any help would be appreciated.

Configuration Manager - Which Configuration Type To Chose ?
Jan 14, 2006It seems to me, that the best way is to have one Environment Varible containing the name of the SQL Server, so that you can look up the configuration in the SSIS Configuration Table when you run the package.
Is this the preferable way of doing it ? I would like to hear some positive/negative comment of why chosing a configuration type instead of another.
It seems to me that putting all of the configuration in the Environment variable is harder work but most secure (server breakdown vs table corruption/database error...)

Is it possible to make a rectangle appear sunk or raised? I've had a play with the different border style settings but they don't appear to make any difference! Can anyone also tell me what the Groove, Ridge, Inset etc are supposed to do?

How To Use Border Style Expression
Dec 6, 2007I have 2 details section in my report. I want to set bottom border style to solid for the first detail section if the second detail section is empty. And set to none if the second detail section has value. Basically I want to show the line below the first detail section and hide the second detail section if the second detail section is empty. otherwise I want to show the line only below the second detail section.
I am able to hide the detail section. But can't set the border style using expression.

Control Border With Multi Value Parameter
Mar 18, 2008I have a query that returns multiple values for a dataset called dsLastWeekOfPeriod. The query returns to me the last week of every period for this fiscal year. I have a parameter called LastWeekOfPeriod, and it is multi valued.
In my report, I want a border for every row in the matrix's dataset where the fiscal week of year matches one of the values in the parameter LastWeekOfPeriod.
I've tried a few different lines of code in the BorderStyle section of the Properties of the row in the matrix, but the border is not appearing. Could somebody help me with the code? Thanks.

Table Row Border Format Issue?

i wanna to set the body row of table with border left and rigth in black color , the result on the report is showing the black verticle line , the problme i got at moment is there is little white dot between two data rows , which is because the body row border bottom and top is in white color.
so how do i set the format of body row that can display vertical black line on report without the little white dot appear between rows? Hope i explain clear enough.

Table Border Lines Not Rendering Properly

Hello all,
I have been unable to get the black vertical lines in a table to render properly, based on the following....
I'm developing a report that requires the following:
1. One group with the group header section having a BackgroundColor of "LightGrey". (any color other than "Transparent")
2. The details section of the report has a Bottom border with the same color as step #1.
3. The table should have black vertical borderlines that seperate some of the columns. The lines should run the length of the table.
The black lines look like they're being overlapped by both the GroupHeader BackgroundColor and the details section bottom border.
Has anyone been able to implement a similar report successfully?

SQL Reporting Services 2005 - Trying To Create A Border Only Every Fifth Row
Jan 9, 2008I was wondering if anyone might have any insight into the following issue:
I would like to have a bottom border of 'solid' for the entire row on every fifth row of one of my reports. The rest of the rows should have no bottom border. I know there must be an expression I can write to do this involving RowNumber but I can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone know how to make this happen?
PDF And Merge Cell Border Style Issue
Apr 10, 2007Problem: I have borders that are hidden (Border Style=None) that appear ok in HTML but when Render in PDF they appear when they should not. Basically I am using a few columns like TABS in one Major Column in my report in combination with Merge Cells.
In Sql2000 -> There is no problem in the HTML or PDF rendering.
In Sql2005SP1 -> The problem occurs in two forms:
a) Problem Only Shows up in the PDF Creation call in our ASPX in IIS
b) Problem occurs in both the ASPX call and the Reporting Services Report Upload (Export to PDF)
Is there a fix to this issue or work around?

I'm having an interesting problem. In my report, I use a table to show my data set. The borders of the table are giving me a hard time...
The problem is, I'm not being able to display the bottom border for a row, but only at the end of the page, causing the table containing multi paged report data to be seen inside a box. Just to be clear;
I don't want to display borders of each row
I don't want to display table footer in each page (Only on last page)
I've already tried to display page footer, top border. Its not the answer :D

i have used ranges inside a rectangle but when i preview the tablix ranges are coming Perfect concern is that during export to excel border of the rectangle comes only for one row and gets hidden for second row .and its working perfect when exporting to PDF .

Reporting Services :: Display Dynamic Red Line To Column Border Color In SSRS Report
May 15, 2015I am displaying the red line in the beginning of the current week column in the matrix table. But for few resources the red line is missing. For Example in below screenshot, refer the 'Adrian Larkin' resource. Here is the SSRS report border expression which is comparing the [TimeByDay] with the current Week First Monday Date to display the red bar -
=IIf(Fields!TimeByDay.Value = DATEADD("d", -(WeekDay(Today(),2))+1, Today()), "Red", "Black")"
Here is the dataset result set. If you refer the column [TimeByDay], it has no record for the date 11/05/2015 for the Adrian resource as he has no assignment for the date 11-05-2015.display the red missing line red bar using the expression or any other solution.
