View 14 RepliesAll my desktop icons are stuck on the left side of the desktopAll file explorer view are stuck in details view. Now yes, I have turned off Auto-arrange, still refreshes to all icons on left. I have tired ALL sorts combinations of view + sort by... nothing. I have tired many anti-malware/virus scans and nothing has come up. I have tired CCleaner pretty much everything and the problem persists.
Of note, I had done a system restore a week and half ago to a specific point and that fixed the problem but for just a day, then it happened again. When I got around to having time to go for another system restore, that restore point was gone and now no other restore point is fixing the issue -_-That left me to think it might be something I installed or perhaps a windows update... but after having uninstalled pretty much everything I could that I installed in the last week as well as removing recent updates.... nothing. I have also tried making a new windows account (local)... nothing. Also tried in safe mode, still nothing.
IDK if the computer even works anymore! I'm over it! Going use a public computer.
View 2 RepliesAfter updating to Windows 10 I created a homegroup and now everything in documents is stuck in read only. It's the filled in box not the checked box. I manually uncheck the read only and it goes right back to read only. I left home group and tried unsharing folders but no luck. I'm at a loss in what else to try. Also tried rollback and it fails. Tried reset and it fails. Tried image rollback and fails.
View 3 RepliesSo my Laptop ( I have an Inspirion 1564 Windows 10 ) has been having some issues, so I decided to give it a clean slate by having it factory reset. The only problem? It's been stuck at Resetting this PC 25% for the past 5 hours. I'm scared to force reset because I know it'll mess with the computer ...
View 1 RepliesI am using Dell Latitude laptop with 8 GB RAM. i have upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. Everything is working fine but one thing which is much annoying is, sometimes windows gets stuck at welcome screen. I have waited for 1-2 hrs, but it didn't started. It happens every time i reboot the machine.
View 6 RepliesSo,I've been using windows 10 for few weeks now and since the time I switched there has been some minor issues and two annoying problems:
1.My downloads get stuck at the end i.e at 99.98% or something.
2.Start up takes a long time without fast boot with a brief balck screen between loading screen and login screen.
The 2nd issue i've come to know that many people are facing and there is no fix as of now and I've left it for Ms to fix. But the First issue is becoming increasingly annoying.
First noticed it happening with firefox download manager wherein download would get stuck at the end and I will have to pause and resume multiple times to get it done.
So I started using IDm and noticed the same, only this time I will not have to pause and resume multiple times, once will do.
Not sure what is causing this [URL] ....
Have attached a screenshot taken at the time.
After sometime the one saying disconnect turns completed and there is one in the end(not visible in the screenshot)which is stuck and does not change unless I pause and resume the download.
My computer froze and I restarted it. After I turned it off and started it back up again, it didn't boot into Windows. At first it was giving me a message about inserting the boot media. I reset it again and loaded windows 10 but it went into a "diagnosing your pc" loop where it would sit there for hours not doing anything. I checked in the case to make sure all of the hard drives were connected. But when I went to bios, it said nothing was in the sata slot that my ssd was plugged into. I restarted again and was met with the same problem. I read that I would have to reset the pc. So I started the process and it is on hanging at "resetting this pc 8%" and has been there for roughly 20 hours. I don't know what I should do as a next step.

I turned my computer on about 20-30 mins ago and it started "updating". After it installed some updates, restarted the pc 1-2 times, it took me to here [URL] ....
How can I get out of this strange glitch? The mouse is also operable.
OK, after I installed windows 10 my pc rebooted. After the reboot my monitor went to sleep and there was nothing on the screen, my monitor was on sleep mode for about 30 minutes and then a screen finally poped up at 35% windows 10 installation thingee. And at 84% my monitor went to sleep again and BTW I couldn't wake it up. I waited for more than an hour but still my monitor was on sleep mode. Nothing was working. I then held down the power button, my pc turned off and I turned it on again. It still wouldn't load anything on my monitor. My pc is on everything works but there's no signal on the monitor.
View 1 RepliesOK, I recently 'upgraded' my windows 7 to windows 10. It was working fine since Christmas, then today it just freezes on the windows 10 splash screen, which as I'm sure you can guess is incredibly annoying.
View 4 RepliesI've had a problem where Windows was booting up fine sometimes, but other times it couldn't find the desktop settings, and I couldn't open any files (even though I could browse the hard drive) and there was no Start menu.
I've been trying various things to fix this, one of which was to set up a new user account. I followed instructions to open Powershell and I typed "net user TestUser password /add". It said it was successful.
Now I cannot even get into Windows. At the sign-in screen there are no users available at all (I just have the nice picture of blue window). I have tried shift-Restart to get to the troubleshooting options, but this doesn't work, it just restarts the PC and I get back to the same sign-in screen.
Ok, I have looked for the solution to this problem, but all my searches find a different issue. This has now happened to 2 HP Windows 10 laptops. My son has grabbed them, and hit something, so now, the desktop is gone. It only displays a list of apps, similar to the Windows 8.1 main screen. When you select a new program, either from the app view that it is stuck in, or hitting the widows button in the lower left, and opening a new program, I see the desktop for maybe a second before the app/program opens. When you close it, it goes right back to the app view. I have seen "fixes" everything from the Windows key+D to reset to factory settings. I have added a "show desktop" icon to the task bar, but when you hit it, the desktop shows for a second, then right back to the app view.
View 1 RepliesI have a Toshiba Click 10 lx0w-c-104 that is stuck in tablet mode, how to revert to computer mode.
View 2 RepliesI just ran Windows Update and all seemed well, I rebooted as usual but when I logged in again i just have a black screen with a small white window that says "Personalized Settings (Not Responding)". If I Ctrl+Alt+Delete I can get the Task Manager up and it says Windows Explorer is not responding. So I shut that down and the box goes away. That's all. I can Run New Task and open Explorer but then I just get the box again.
View 1 Replieswindows update is stuck for months on 25%, is this problem known? or is there a way to reset it?
View 1 RepliesI recieved a new desktop pc today (hp envy pheonix) I started the first time setup with windows 10 and reached the point where I had to put my email and password in, which I did. It took me to a blue screen which say "Oops something went wrong" There is no back button on screen and I have tried rebooting the pc and it just returns to the same screen, so I'm stuck looking at this one screen.
View 1 RepliesOn Facebook, I clicked on a post and when I tried to close it, a message popped up and asked "Are you sure" and the window with the message is small and I can't scroll to bottom to close the message and go back to FB other posts. After restarting, it's still there.

View 9 RepliesI downloaded Windows 10 on July 29th, and decided to upgrade instead of doing a fresh install of Windows 10. However, I realized that many of my old programs from Windows 7 are not compatible, so today I decided to finally do a fresh install of Windows. The reset was stuck at 1% for about 20 minutes, and now it's been stuck at 2% for over an hour.

View 3 RepliesI have a Asus Windows 8 laptop and I decided to install Windows 10 two days ago.Today, I was trying to update my Kaspersky internet app on the computer and it told me that I had to reboot so I did. But it started having trouble and I got a blue screen. At first I tried to shut down and opening the laptop again but it happened the same thing. I went to troubleshoot and decided to reset the whole laptop. It was resetting but it shut down because of low battery and I tried to reboot it and ever since its showing the Logo and shutting down and then restarting again not being able to past that screen. I had to force shut down the computer to stop it from doing that but can't turn on the laptop at all.
View 5 RepliesUpgrade from Win 7 64bit to Win 10 64 bit on a Gateway laptop 3 days ago and everything worked well. This morning the laptop hung up in the booting process and wont fully load the OS. I get to the window logo, a greyed login box, and in task bar the clock and battery icon but nothing else. No start button no search and none of the pinned programs. Setup has only one user
I cant get into safe mode with Win key + R so I cant even get far enough in to roll back to a restore point or back to Win7 and I would prefer not to have to do a clean install of Win 7, restore my image and then re-upgrade if at all possible.
I think my windows 10 upgrade gets stuck at 92% with configuring windows at 69%. It's been at this screen for over 24 hours already. I'm a bit concerned now.
I'm wondering if I shut it down by pressing and holding the power button, would I get myself into another problem?
I upgraded my laptop from windows 7 to windows 10 in August and there were no problems. For a month now, it boots till a black screen with the cursor or to the screen with the five dots. The only solution that I have found to boot normally is after five to six resets it boots normally, but next time it cannot boot again. I performed a system restore to a restore point of a month ago, but it came with an error about a problem of my antivirus program. I unistalled my antivirus and I tried again, but this time there were no restore points.
View 1 Repliesget stuck on the windows Screen and i have tried to do the factory reset and got an error saying it failed. Just wondering if there is anything else i can try. Other things i have tried is unplugging his computer and holding the power down for 30 seconds then plugging it back in i have tried to do a system restore which didn't work.
