Once or twice a day I get a half second of stutter where my video and audio will stutter for half a second. The only thing I've found in the Windows Logs seems to be the Software Protection Service starts when the stutter happens. I've done a full format with no luck, stuttering still occurs.

View 2 RepliesThis morning I started the windows creation Tool to download Windows 10 ISO to do a clean install. About 10 minutes into the download the machine lost power. I rebooted into the machine and tried to run the Tool again, but all I get is "Setup couldn't start properly. Please reboot your PC and try running Windows Setup again". So, I rebooted and all I get in the same message. What can I do to fix this?
View 1 RepliesI recently upgrade to windows 10 and so far everything is great except. My Windows update wont download the updates it only gives me error 0x80246008. So I tried to solve it on my own by using these steps.
I suggest you to try to manually reset the Windows Updates Components and check.
Please follow the below steps to reset the Windows Updates Components:
1.Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.
2.Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
3. Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
ren C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:WindowsSystem32catroot2 Catroot2.old
4. Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
5. Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.
After running windows in safe mode to test something my firewall stopped working. I could not find anything related to this issue on Win10. When i try to initialize windows Firewall service i get the message error 1068 and when i try to run it through Control Painel i get another message error with the code 0x8007042c.
There is event log saved on my pc everytime i start windows (ID 7001). I also cannot run SFC /scannow anymore.. this is getting annoying.
I just discovered that none of my computers have the Volume Shadow Copy service running and none have the startup set to automatic. I have always assumed that this service should start at boot time. I have started the service on all the computers and set the startup to automatic. Shouldn't that have been the state set by the installer? The manner of installation doesn't seem to be a factor because some of the computers were upgraded via GWX and some were upgraded and then clean installed afterward. I have reported this via the Feedback app.
View 2 RepliesEarlier today I tried to rebuild the windows search index, only to find out that I currently have no locations indexed. I also cannot modify to add any new locations. Windows search troubleshooter shows the following results:
I went to services and tried to start the windows search service, only to be given an error message about the path specified not existing. This doesn't make any sense because I can literally see the windows search executable:

View 1 RepliesAfter recent Windows 10 Update, my wireless connection no longer works. I've done some troubleshooting and I have ruled out my ISP, cable modem, and router, leaving the issue to be something within the computer (Dell laptop - Inspiron 7537).The wired connection works fineWhen I run Windows Network Diagnosis, it tells me that the Windows Wireless Service is not running (see attached pdf report).
When I try to manually start the WLANSVC service, i get an error message that says "Windows could not start the WLAN AutoConfig service on Local Computer Error 193:0xc1" (see attached)When I try to manually start the WLANSVC service from the command prompt (as Admin) I get a slightly different message that says "The WLAN AutoConfig service is starting. The WLAN AutoConfig service could not be started. A system error has occurred. System error 193 has occurred. *** is not a valid Win32 application." (see attached)I've downloaded the latest Intell PROset Wireless drivers from Dell (V18.20.0.9) for the Wireless-N 7260 wireless network adapter and have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.
I have two Windows 10 installations on my PC. Primary and temp. The primary installation cannot boot with error "The boot configuration data file is missing some required information ".
This happened aftter I wiped out another third disk which was the PC's original disk and apparently kept some boot info.
I have a USB boot disk but that does not see my Primary Windows 10 installation because the drive is running a 950 pro m.2 ssd which there is no drivers for when booted in the USB.
So there is no way that I know of, to use the USB and run a boot repair option on Primary installation.
The other Temp installation can boot into windows 10 and it does see my Primary installation's partition ... but how do I repair Primary while booted in Temp ?
It is a UEFI pc.
After the upgrade from 8.1 pro to 10, i noticed system protection was turned off. I went ahead and turned it back on and moved the slider back to ten percent.

View 3 RepliesI have disable system protection on my primary (C:) which is an SSD.
When trying to enable system protection on my 1TB HDD (E:), the option is simply greyed out.
I had hoped to save writes on my SSD to increase it's lifespan, and it appears to be recommended in various SSD optimisation guides. Is it at all possible to enable system restore points to be saved on other hard drives?
I woke up this morning and turned on my laptop from sleep mode and it went straight to my desktop not to a screen to ask to input my password like usually. Is this normal or some mix up?
View 2 RepliesI use Macrium Reflect for image backup and want to permanently disable system protection. I have used the control panel to turn off system protection several times now but have noticed that for some reason periodically it gets turned back on. I have turned it off and then did a restart and it was still off but then several days later I checked and it was back on so I'm not completely sure what is triggering it to turn back on. Is there any way to turn it off so it doesn't come back on by itself?
