Feb 10, 2016I've Dell latitude 3330 which is connected to school domain. Before i disconnected from school domain i created user name- Admin but forgot to set it in Administrator. I'm now in Standard User instead of Administrator. But some how Built-in Administrator account is enable but i don't know the password of Built-in Administrator account. Aug 2, 2015I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. I didn't realize it was going to mess with my log in credentials just to get into my PC. Well, I'm locked out of my PC. I can't log on, it just tells me when I enter in the PIN and the Password that "Your device is offline, please enter old password." I do that and it rejects it.
I can't get internet access because I live on a college campus and the way they have it set up is you have to be logged into your computer before you can access the network.
I tried "resetting my PC" and chose the option to delete all the data but no idea if that will work yet.
I also tried reinstalling windows 7 from the CD, but I can't seem to get it to do that since I can't log in and get any kind of interface. I tried using the boot menu to boot from the CD (it's a retail version of windows 7.) but that doesn't work.
What do I do here? Is my computer bricked? This is ridiculous.

Jan 22, 2016The firm in which I work has a Lenovo PC with Windows 10 installed. There are two user profiles on the computer, the admin and another normal account without administration rights. We have only the password of the account without administrator rights.
The network administrator had left the company surprisingly in without giving the administrator password of the PC and we cannot contact him anymore.
Now we want to install another programme and we cannot do this without an administrator account.
I disabled secure boot and have tried to boot the PC with an Linux USB Stick, but it do not boot from the stick.
how I either can reset the password of the administrator account or create an new account with administrator rights.

Nov 12, 2015Ok so i am furious with Micro$oft now! the other day i was FORCED to change my microsoft account after much nagging i did so and i dont like changing logins too much. (this was a week ago)
now for some random reason on earth without my permission my windows login also changed login passwords to the microsoft account. I DONT WANT THAT! that password is too long and complicated for someone who locks his computer every 5 minutes or so. why did this just kick in now? i changed M$ account pass over a week ago and today it decides to change windows login?! can i change JUST my local windows login separate from microsoft login?
if i try to change pass from settings it it goes online and says you cant use password that has been used before.

Feb 2, 2016after an update at starting, tablet laptop start gives picture/clock screen, that slides to the password screen but when password block is touched on screen or mouse clicked the screen flips back to the picture/clock ... how to deal with this kind of lock out that the typing box won't open and loops to clock screen? have turned off for an hour to see if that does it..but if not...would restarting into a repair or recovery be possible fix...i have never been able to get into safe mode without being logged in but have gotten into recovery during a restart which made me wonder if entering a recovery during boot and reversing the upgrade was possible if all else fails...

Aug 21, 2015I don't know if it's my installation, but I can't really switch to select a differet login user once I turn on my PC, and it brings to the last logged on user and his Picture password screen.
Both users have a Picture password and I don't have any chance to pick the other one, unless:
- I select a different type of access
- ask for password
- then the damn multi-user LH box appears
- and I can pick another one.
Then do the opposite until I get back to his Picture password screen. Odd and unbelieavable, considering how well streamlined in Win8.1...
The old way I found for Windows 8.x (HERE) is not working anymore, as I went in the Registry of mine upgraded Win10 and found it was already correctly modified (=1), but the login screen is a mess, nonetheless.
I'm ok with Task scheduling batches, reg modification, whatever. But it's Win10 Home, so no gpedit involved..

Taskbar Explorer Link Not Working
Jul 30, 2015I have pinned explorer to my taskbar. I have added links to my explorer icon on the taskbar. (Such as Z:Games and Z:Movies)
But when I right-click the explorer icon, then left-click the link nothing happens. I can hear that my hdd starts working. (It does that stereotypical hdd-noise.) But nothing happens.
Can't Get In With Old Password And Can't Reset
Aug 17, 2015Have just upgraded this afternoon and now can't get beyond the request for a password on my lap top. The password I have always used is apparently "incorrect". I can't reset either as I am being told I need a USB flash drive which I don't have. Why is this happening and what can I do to get into my lap top?

Oct 17, 2015Microsoft just forced me to change my Win10 password, I could not get around it, i couldn't change it back "you cannot use a password previously used" . I was pretty livid and I don't want to forever have to come up with new passwords I've never used before. Can i stop this, or freeze my current password? Is there any way not bend over for MS and say of course sir, however you like sir. I just want to keep my password the same.

Feb 10, 2016First of all, I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. My device is a ASUS K55vd notebook. When I was running on windows 7 I successfully created a factory image disk via ASUS ai recovery application (a five bootable disk). Then I decided to upgrade my hdd to ssd. My idea is to have a clean factory installation of windows 7 on ssd so I didn't clone my old hdd.
What I did was mount the ssd and ran my recovery disk and successfully installed a fresh windows 7, it is then when I update my windows 7 and went to windows 10. Currently I'm running on windows 10 and there is the notification of creating a factory disk which I would like to do but as soon as I start burning the disk it says that the recovery partition does not exist even though I have my recovery drive ( R: ).
Next, I tried creating system repair disc from Control Panel>System and security>Backup and restore (windows 7) then this prompt came. "The selected disc cannot be used. The selected disc does not contain a valid Windows installation."
Lastly I tried creating system image also from Control Panel too. However it failed and says that the mounted backup volume is inaccessible.

I would like to ask for some solution regarding that and I'm wondering if the previous factory image disc that I have from before (win 7) is still usable if I decided to factory reset my pc? And can I make a bootable disc in which it reverts my windows to the point where I freshly upgraded to windows 10 so that I would relieve myself the hassle of upgrading again to windows 10 when the factory image disc work (in which it will surely reverts my windows to win 7).
Installation :: Cannot Create Partition On Selected Disk
Jan 22, 2016Trying a Windows install on a Server box with 4 HDD's installed. This server also allows boot from a Micro SD card. I've got a 64GB micro SD card loaded as well.
Fails when trying to create any partition on any of the HDD's. Works if I temporarily remove one HDD or take out the 64GB internal micro SD card.
I Get a message "Windows cannot create partition on selected Disk" - even when totally empty. It doesn't matter if GPT or MBR disks either.
Seems that if you want to install a non server version of Windows (i.e Windows 10 Pro for example) 4 HDD's is the limit (a micro SD card counts as an HDD).
If I install Esxi on the SD card then no prob creating Windows VM's without removing HDD's.
I think after w10 is installed you can add more HDD's.
Installation :: Does The ISO Disk Create The W7 Recovery Image
Sep 13, 2015I created ISO disks for both my 32 bit and 64 bit systems at the MS download site. If I use the ISO disk instead of the Windows Update method, does the install still create the W7 image in case I want to go back to W7 after installing W10?
Also, do I boot from the disk or do I go into the ISO disk and click on Setup?

Jan 31, 2016 It won't let us access the local disk and says we don't have permission. I am the only user. It won't let us save anything on that disk either. I have gotten all of the documents, videos, and pictures backed up so that's not an issue. We are really just trying to reset the computer with a fresh start but it wont let us.
Resetting the computer- This wouldn't let me because it said it had an error. I did this by holding shift while restarting and then troubleshooting from there. I've tried the option of saving files and also whiping the whole computer, both ways won't work.Booting in safe mode- it works but nothing has come out of doing anything in that mode.
