I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10. I created new Microsoft accounts for my kids and added those accounts to the child accounts in Windows 10. The problem is that the Family Safety screen time that was configured on the Microsoft website are not being enforced on the computer. I have set 2 hour daily timers for the children but they are able to use the computer beyond that 2 hour period.

Family Safety in Windows 10 does not seem to work well as sites I have blocked are blocked in Edge but not Internet Explorer (Microsoft cannot explain why). An alternative for Windows 10 or provide a hosts file example that would work?

I had 2 adult local accounts and 2 kids local accounts. I also have the 1 Microsoft account.
I don't want to use the Microsoft account signin on my laptop I want to use my local.
Is there a way to assign the existing local kids accounts to family without having to create new ones ? The kids are worried that if I do this they will lose their existing apps/game settings on the local accounts.
We got our daughter a new PC for xmas which is preloaded with Win10 Home x64.
I have set myself up as the main user (Admin) and also set up a 'family member' account for her to control her activity which has her own seperate login details consisting of her Microsoft email address and a strong password.
Rather than her having to login with her strong password which is quite difficult to remember for a 9yr old, I wanted to set up a 4 digit PIN login instead like I have set up on my Admin account.
I then logged in to her account to set up the PIN login which asks for my parental permission which requires me to login and allow the change.
I am then required to input my credit card details and address to verify I am an adult.
Now the problem is on the address part the screen the country is already set to the USA which requires a State and Zipcode whereas I live in the UK. There is no visible menu to change the country from the US to the UK. (see photo below)
Now my Admin account and my daughters account are both correctly set to the UK as their region with keyboard settings set to the UK also.
I can find no way possible to change the region as the USA locale is already set/grayed out with no menu to change it.
I just upgraded all my computers to Windows 10.
My 15 year old is clever enough to bypass the (new) Family settings controlled Microsoft Account I just set up for him by converting the account to a local account. This seems to let him play as long as he wants, without time restrictions. I didn't get an email about this, or any other notification. This is the second time he has done it.
Why is it so easy to completely bypass all the family safety settings it took me hours(!) to finally get set up?
Also the Family Recent Activity shown on my Microsoft Account web site doesn't seem to update itself. It is at least two or three days behind, perhaps more. How often does Recent Activity update? Is it supposed to be near instantaneous?
When I switched from 8.0/8.1, one of the things that thrilled me the about 10 was that I didn't have to sign back in every time the computer sent to sleep!
Now, after the last update, I have to do this again. What a major PITA! Is there any way to disable this? I have absolutely no reason to be worried about security in my own home.
(I also notice that I am now occasionally getting some strange screens upon starting up and before the sign-in screen. I have been ignoring them. The last one (and maybe the earlier ones, too) asked "Do you like what you are seeing?" What the heck are these
I have Windows 10 & it just asked to update so I allowed it. Now when my computer restarts, everything seems to work fine, until I get to the sign in screen where it says "please wait" and I get an infinite loading screen.The only thing that works is ctrl+ alt + delete and it gives me this. Still no accounts to sign into. I've tried holding shift + restart but it doesn't seem to do anything. Shift + F8 also does nothing during startup.
View 6 RepliesI'm not sure if this is old news or what but after adding my wife and son to my family in windows 10 they now have access to apps that I have purchased in the store and vice versa. Not sure if its a bug (albeit a beneficial one) or if family sharing is now a thing.

View 1 RepliesNow that the new upgrades have been installed, I have to log on every time my screen times out. Before the upgrades, if I walked away and came back, moving the mouse or touching a key would bring back the desktop. How can I get back to that status? (By the way, the automatic upgrade hiccuped at 75% and locked the computer so it couldn't be turned on without holding the power key down for over 5 seconds--very inconvenient as I had to go to Geek Squad to get it back since I didn't think of that).

How do you get the time on the lock screen to be a 24Hr clock? When I first upgraded to Win 10, the lock screen did show the clock in the 24Hr format, but for some reason it has returned to the 12Hr format. In the region setting I have the time format set to HH:mm:ss and HH:mm for the 24Hr format.

View 1 RepliesMy Win10 laptop flips out on boot with a blue screen, right before/after you can see the mouse. It never reboots when it says it will. And it seems to blame my graphics card for this, as Catylitst Controll on logging claims that there is no AMD driver or thats its malfunctioning. I have to reinstall it to get my computer working better than a snail's pace, and for Catylist Controll to reconise it.Will get a dump of the error, just gotta restart a few times, as i accidently deleted the error dump and used disk cleaner.

View 9 RepliesI use Chinese Tablet Telclast Air 3G come with Windows 8.1 with Bing upgraded to Windows 10 Home.
Now I have problem with touch screen which I need to re-calibrate every time I turn on after turn off and charging tablet. When I turn on tablet touch screen is mess and I need to use external keyboard to log in and re-calibrate touch, if I turn off tablet with out charging it after turn on it work fine what can I do to solve this problem?
I never had this issue with windows 8.1 and after I upgrade to windows 10 it work for a few week then this problem occur.

Ram: 2GB
Intel On Board graphic card with latest driver
Does the time warning that used to appear on screen for a child's account - two minute remaining... - is still present in windows 10? It seems like when my kid gets to the end of his allotted time for the day the computer just goes blank without any warning - often in the middle of an 'all important' game. Am I missing something or is this feature gone?
View 1 RepliesRecently I've installed Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 17. It had had a preinstalled Ubuntu. When installing Windows, I deleted the Ubuntu partition, leaving only the one for system recovery and the one called DIAGS, I think.
Now everytime the system is loading, for a split second I get the Windows Boot Menu screen that's cut from the top. See : [URL] ....
After that, the system loads just fine. What is it and how do I get rid of it?
It takes Windows 10 about 8 minutes to boot from the time it reaches the BIOS screen. What's keep it from booting normally?

I have successfully disabled the request for logon password with netplwiz, but lock screen still requires the password. Is there a way I can disable this as well? I selected "never" not to require it upon the pc waking up, but it doesn't work.

When left alone, the screen will never turn off.
When I click on the Browse button to find a photo to use for my sign on page, nothing happens.
I've attached a screen shot of the Settings page I am referring to. Browse Button does not work.
I regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems. Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.
Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.
I have my user account which is connected with ms account which shows my email along with my user name on login screen. I made one more admin account without ms account and made it a default user with password. Now on login screen on left side both my accounts show up. Is there way to hide my original account from this login screen because I do not want anyone sitting with me could know my email as this account shows my email along with user name.
View 7 RepliesI can't figure why I get the generic gray circle with the person on it on my welcome screen when my computer starts up. My account shows my picture as a gold fish. My computer was set to auto login before I made the switch from windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10 and has been logging in with out my entering password since then just like the way I want it.
