When I click on the Browse button to find a photo to use for my sign on page, nothing happens.
I've attached a screen shot of the Settings page I am referring to. Browse Button does not work.
I installed windows 10 from 7 and if i try to sign into cortana, onedrive or microsoft accounts it either say (something went wrong) or (there was a problem connecting to onedrive) Browsers work fine so i know i have an internet connection. I have reinstalled windows 10 once with no change.
View 8 Replieswhen I start Windows 10, I have to sign in (without giving a password) to the last User that was signed in. In other words I don't have any options as to what User can sign in. But, when I start Windows 10, I want to be presented with a screen where I can see all the Users on my system. Then I want to be able to select which User to sign in. At the moment I'm having to log off to see this screen showing User options. Can I use secpol.msc?
View 1 RepliesI recently was forced to create a new user account on my Windows 10 PC since old one got corrupted. This new one is a local account/administrator. When going to the account settings I then go to the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" option which works totally fine. I am asked to input the email of my Microsoft account and password. So far so good. After I do that I then encounter a screen that says "Sign in to this device using your Microsoft account". It asks me for my current Windows password one more time and says the next time I sign into windows I'll be using my Microsoft account password. So I then enter my windows password and here is where the lovely screw up happens that says "Oops, something went wrong. Whatever happened, it was probably our fault. Please try again."
I've tried countless times and attempted to skip this page by clicking next and nothing. I can't use my Microsoft account at all on this computer it seems anymore.
I am trying to add a User but logon fails with msg "The ProfSvc service failed the sign in. User Profile cannot be loaded"
I created the new user via "Settings/Accounts/Family & other users users/ Add someone else to this PC"....
How to remove the e-mail account from Windows 10, or how to disable the sign in requirement.
I followed the instructions but it did not work.
When I switched from 8.0/8.1, one of the things that thrilled me the about 10 was that I didn't have to sign back in every time the computer sent to sleep!
Now, after the last update, I have to do this again. What a major PITA! Is there any way to disable this? I have absolutely no reason to be worried about security in my own home.
(I also notice that I am now occasionally getting some strange screens upon starting up and before the sign-in screen. I have been ignoring them. The last one (and maybe the earlier ones, too) asked "Do you like what you are seeing?" What the heck are these
I have a new email address so I want my Microsoft sign in to be this email and not my old one. What to do and how to transfer existing purchases to this new email so that signing in to Windows 10 uses my new email as the administrator?

I have run sfc /scannow and it does detect corrupt files but I have no way of repairing them
Since I've updated to 1511 10586, I'm not able to click in Start Menu, click in my user name and sign out. What happens is that the menu that has to appear when you click on your username does not show anymore since I've updated to 10586 build.
It is posible to Sign out using any of the other options like alt+f4 or win key + X and Shutdow or Sign out.
why this menu is not diplayed anymore?
Currently have multiple user profiles and have to log into each one and sign out before shutting the PC down.
Could a batch file be created to sign out of all user profiles from any or one particular one...?
I know that a huge part of Windows 10 is that they are trying to make it all on the cloud, but I feel MUCH more secure with everything on my computer. I will want to use the cloud for some things, but not for everything.
The thing I want to avoid the most is using my Microsoft account to sign into my computer. I want to have my own local account that is separate from all internet as my computer login. If I want to do stuff online, I will go to the browser.
My annoyance is that Every time I try to search for a folder or program using the search button, it opens Cortana, who immediately asks me to sign in with my Microsoft account. At first I was fine with it, but then I noticed that it changed my computer login into my Microsoft account login.
Is there a way to make Cortana stop telling me to sign in to Microsoft every time I try to search for a folder?
I would like to be able to access my computer without signing in every time. How do I disable the sign-in requirement?
View 1 RepliesWhenever I sign in to my user account I get a blue window with a critical error message......saying Start menu and cortana aren't working ( I have cortana turns off in options anyway ) then it says we will try and fix it next time you sign in, with the only option to sign out.....this happens every time I start the PC up, but OK after signing out and in again , is it anything to do with shutup10 that I ran recently, although it's not affecting my windows 10 laptop.
View 3 RepliesNot sure whether this is related to the recent upgrade (yesterday jan 28 2016), but I restarted my PC after after the upgrade, all was OK, I switched it off and went home. Today after I swithed my PC on the following appeared: "The Group Policy Client Service failed the sign-in. The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported" Wow, this frightened me as hell. The logon screen reappeared and I managed to log-in on the second attempt.

View 1 RepliesFor some reason I have lost use of the Edit Photo options. How to get it back? I can open the photos just fine. But when I click on the edit buttons it says "Can't edit. We are having trouble opening this file for editing." I have not change my file types or anything else. Tried several different pictures and it just keep saying the same thing. Was working just fine for the last 2 years.
View 1 RepliesI am having problems using the default photo viewer in windows 10. For one thing when I download a photo, I am not given any option on where to save the photo. When I get the photo to open, there is a band at the top of the page which covers part of the photo.
View 5 RepliesI've had a problem where Windows was booting up fine sometimes, but other times it couldn't find the desktop settings, and I couldn't open any files (even though I could browse the hard drive) and there was no Start menu.
I've been trying various things to fix this, one of which was to set up a new user account. I followed instructions to open Powershell and I typed "net user TestUser password /add". It said it was successful.
Now I cannot even get into Windows. At the sign-in screen there are no users available at all (I just have the nice picture of blue window). I have tried shift-Restart to get to the troubleshooting options, but this doesn't work, it just restarts the PC and I get back to the same sign-in screen.
I have Windows 10 & it just asked to update so I allowed it. Now when my computer restarts, everything seems to work fine, until I get to the sign in screen where it says "please wait" and I get an infinite loading screen.The only thing that works is ctrl+ alt + delete and it gives me this. Still no accounts to sign into. I've tried holding shift + restart but it doesn't seem to do anything. Shift + F8 also does nothing during startup.
View 6 RepliesWith Windows 8,1 I was able to sign out of my account and then put the PC to sleep (or shutdown, restart or hibernate) by selecting the option in the sign-in screen. But there is no power icon or any power options on the Windows 10 sign-in screen. I can only put the PC into sleep mode while signed in.
View 3 RepliesDuring boot-up, I get a blank screen (shows cursor arrow which responds to touch pad movements), after the sign in page, which I can't I can't escape from except by forcing shut down and restart. The reboot can then take as long as five minutes to complete. I have considered using the restore route, but am warned that there is a long list of apps etc which will need re-installing, and this looks arduous.
