So I had a pretty big update for my Windows recently and since then whenever I restarted my pc it take like 10 on the restart screen and then the screen goes black so I just turn it off from the button because I'm impatient. And same thing happens when I shut it down, the screen goes off but the pc keeps running for lik it seems forever.

How do I fix this Windows 10 Store madness? I just fixed my Start Menu some days ago, so the Windows 10 Store might be mad at me for removing the Windows 10 Store icon out of the taskbar, too.
Ever since I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I've noticed on many occasions that it takes very long to shut down. Just yesterday, I waited around 4 hours before finally deciding to shut it down by pressing and holding on to the power button. It was just showing the "Shutting Down..." with a blue background throughout the entire time I have waited.

After I restarted my computer it took almost 30 secs to show the log in screen, that's the longest it's ever taken. After I log in it takes about 3 mins to load an application. Even when I attempted to open my windows setting it's slow. My computer is a gaming computer with an i7 and a gtx 970 with 16 gigs of dd3 ram.

View 3 RepliesRecently I started having a problem where after my computer is on for awhile, nothing that operates in the Metro UI will open or function at all. This includes the Start menu, any Windows 10 apps including Settings, Task View, the alt-tab interface, etc. I also cannot log out or restart or shut down, I can get to the options from Ctrl+Alt+Del but it just gets stuck on logging out and I have to do a hard reset.

View 1 RepliesSo this morning, I turned on my PC to discover that my downloads folder is now completely empty (I had put a few folders and files in there and downloaded some programs, all gone now). Even shortcuts that I placed on the desktop have disappeared, and I had to re-sign in to Chrome and import all of my bookmarks again. Last night I had accidentally clicked on restart instead of shut down, as they are so close together. I don't know if this could have contributed to the issue. After waiting for it to come back on I shut it down.
I'm just wanting to know what could have caused this, and how to fix it if possible. Definitely don't want it to happen again, and not sure if it's a Windows 10 issue or a fault with my PC. Should mention that I only recently bought this computer and it came pre-installed with Windows 10.
Solved by restarting again...still somewhat worrying that something like that could happen though.
Sometimes when I power down or restart I get a sound that is usually used when there is a problem. I looked up the sound and its the standard "Critical Stop" sound. This only happens sometimes but even if it does occur the system still either shuts down or restarts properly.
View 6 RepliesSometimes, when I shut down or restart Windows 10 64-bit, just before the screen turns black it makes the critical stop sound effect. It does not effect anything, the whole shut down process is like 3 seconds, which I really like in Win 10.
Nevertheless it bugs me a bit, I also had this sometimes in Win 7. I'm not running any programs while shutting down, it would notify me if I did.
i got a brand new computer recently that came with windows 10. i had to reinstall it a few times because of issues i thought were related to the installation (plus the first attempt asked me for a key which i didn't have, the second one didn't). i didn't activate right away. i got two BSOD in 24 hours and thought it was my computer but found out online that it's windows 10's fault so i went to update windows. the update i got took so long it almost looked like a whole new installation though it said updating. when i came home i went to activate and got this message windows is not activated as your previous version of windows on this device was not activated prior to upgrade to windows 10 error code 0x803f7001.
i am nearly 100% positive that error wasn't there before the update. how the hell can i have a previous installation when this is an windows 10 oem computer?

After recent update the Edge box is missing when starting windows10. I can still access Edge from frequently used line but I have this hole in the blue boxes that appear.

It's the only app that does that. With today's Twitter update, problem is alas still here.
I see no reason for that. Do you know a way to "clean" install this app. In case uninstalling it doesn't delete all app's related files?
Error shown is Video_TDR_Failure (NVLDDMKM.SYS). I got that BSOD only one time, every other time the VGA just started stuttering gradually, eventually coming into a halt and then a forced reboot.
I'm pretty sure this was caused by one of the update that Microsoft forces me to install because these kind of problems have never happened before, which you can see here [URL] ...
IMO I think it's because of KB3141032. I could be wrong though

A clean install of the newest driver doesn't work either.
Right now I've just uninstalled the newest Nvidia driver that I installed in a panic and reversed back to 355.98 (cleaned with DDU) but the damned problem still persists.
I am running Windows 10 on a desktop PC. I downloaded the free update many weeks ago and it's been running very smoothly until recently. Yesterday, Windows 10 downloaded and installed a new update, after which my PC began running much slower on start-up, and my speakers no longer worked. I went into the device manager and updated all the drivers, and did the troubleshooting techniques that pretty much every page on the 'net recommends for Windows 10 sound problems, but nothing fixed the problem.

It now boots past the BIOS and goes through "Windows Updating" to "Windows Diagnosing/Repairing" boot loop. My computer uses an SSD so it is (I believe) impossible to get it to boot into safe mode. Is there a way to boot into safe mode or rollback the update somehow?

View 1 RepliesURL...In control panel under windows update I click "view update history",URL...I'm assuming it has to do with my previous problem in the previous post, another problem might have been that I shut down during a restart for an update because my computer sometimes has problems starting up so I have to unplug my desktop and plug it back in for it to work. (when it restarts it says overclocking failed thought I don't overclock so I enter and exit the BIOS to get back to normal)

View 3 RepliesNew HP 15. Upgraded to Windows Ten 2-3 weeks ago. When updates began being pushed and a restart was required, my laptop would freeze during restart. I would then power down / up and all is well.
I noticed during restart my wifi lamp would go orange (disconnected) and cycle to blue (connected). If I powered down / up the same sequence would occur followed by my audio off lamp (orange) illuminating.
Happened every time. Figured it had something to do with an audio driver but I don't have the knowledge to say if it was that or the phase of the moon.
Today I received update KB3081448, went to restart and it actually restarted. I knew when the speaker button lit I was good.
Just for s&g, I have "restarted" 5 times in about the past 30 minutes successfully. What the update is or if it's a coincidence however restart now works. Just throwing this out there for those who may be documenting all this stuff.
Just downloaded the newest update for Windows 10, I was asked to restart my PC to install it, that was over 30 minutes ago, since then my PC reaches the Microsoft logo and under it, it says Preparing Automatic Repair and then it restarts and does that all over again, what am I suppose to do? I can't even get past it.
