After Upgrading Can Old Favorites List Be Recovered?
Dec 6, 2015I just updated to window 10. I found all my old data, but what about my favorites list on explorer ? can that be recovered?

Aug 10, 2015I now have my Favorites Bar back, but as expected, W10 tossed them in alphabetically. This was never a problem before because I would just drag and drop them where I wanted them again, but the only ones that do that correctly are the ones showing in the Bar itself.....if I try to drag (left or right mouse button) from the additional ones in the dropdown list, they don't move at all.
Also....does W10 no longer have the slide bar that would show up from the right hand side of the screen when you move the mouse to the top or bottom corners of the screen?

Feb 2, 2016I have lost all my Favorites in Edge. I have recovered a copy of the desired Favorites and have placed these favorites on my desktop as a file folder. The file structure has all the folders, and within each folder, the links to all the favorite websites. I have tried placing the contents of this file into the following location:
C:UsersAdminAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDe fault
I understand that this is the default location for Edge Favorites. With the desired "Favorites" folder placed and verified in the above location and I open Edge and click on Favorites and all I see under Favorites are two folders "Favorites Bar" and "BookmarksBar" (as expected both currently empty). I had hoped to see also an expandable "Favorites" folder with all the subfolders. How to use the previous referenced Desktop file folder or its content to restore my Favorites in Edge.
Recovered With ISO On USB - Now Will Not Boot On Screen
Feb 10, 2016I just recovered my pc due to a wdf_violation from the win10 iso on a usb. I did a recovery where my personal files would not be deleted. I left the computer to sit as it recovered and came back to a black screen. I've restarted the computer several times and nothing appears to be happening as the monitors stay black, but the pc is running.

Aug 19, 2015After activation, the IE Favorites + Bar didn't install from Windows 8.1. I attempted to install using The Hub but it came back with 'Couldn't import favorites' from IE. I managed a manual install using cut and paste from the legacy IE file to the Favourites file in Win 10. This was successful for both Favorites and Favorites Bar, but it only lasted until the the machine was rebooted. The Favorites/Bar were once again missing from Win 10.

Feb 5, 2016I use a 2 drive set up, a small solid state for my operating system and whatever game I'm currently into, and a 2TB storage drive.
My storage drive (D:) bombed and I took it in for data recovery. The tech saved about 1.3TB of 1.6 used. He put the image onto my new drive and got it going again. However when I try to access explorer or anything pertaining to D: it hangs for about 45 seconds before giving me access. I ran CCleaner first off to knock out registry entries that lost their home but haven't seen any improvement.
What else should I do to get this thing back in order? I'm on Windows 10.

Sep 3, 2015I'm having this frequent problem with my desktop computer. Since updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10, every time I use my PC (at random times) the whole screen will just go blank and I'll get a little message popup in the right hand corner saying.

I don't use my PC for anything real heavy it just randomly happens.. From either scrolling up and down a website page or watching a YouTube video etc... I've tried upgrading my graphics driver but still no luck.

Aug 7, 2015Since upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1, I've seen the following message several times.
Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
When it happens, my laptop screen goes black for a few seconds, except for the taskbar and toast notification. I also have an external monitor that doesn't seem affected at all.
I can reproduce the error pretty consistently if I rapidly switch a Flash video back and forth between full-screen and embedded, but that's not the only time I've seen the problem.
As far as I can tell, everything continues running. Even the full-screen video continues running after the screen isn't black any more.
The weird thing is that the driver name it shows isn't the driver I'm using. I've already upgraded my display drivers to the latest available from Intel's site.
Some things I've observed:
The information presented by Windows in Settings -> Display -> Advanced display settings shows the driver for Windows 10 that I downloaded from Intel.The "Intel HD Graphics Control Center" that was installed along with the driver shows the latest driver version that I downloaded from Intel.In Settings -> Apps & Features there's only one "Intel(R) Processor Graphics Driver" listed.Event viewer shows very little useful information:

It's conceivable that Intel updated the driver, but forgot to change the string somewhere so the error is actually for the Windows 10 driver. I don't know how to find out exactly what failed or why. It's getting that string from somewhere.

Empty All Apps List
Nov 3, 2015I'm not sure when this started happening. Might have been after a Windows update and the system reboot. I've been living with it for a couple weeks now.
When I click All apps in the start menu, the list is empty. The apps in the most used list are still populated and when I install a new app, it shows up as a new app. But when I click All apps, it never shows anything. Just an empty menu with a back button.
The apps in the tile portion of the start menu show up fine and I'm able to search for apps to launch them, but I'd like to be able to easily go through all the apps I have installed.

Jan 4, 2016OK. I know how to "go to file location" and some of the other basic tips, but I am still having two issues with the Windows 10 start menu after several hours of searching reading and pulling hair out.
1) A few of my apps (programs I installed, not apps from the store) were originally in folders with no other shortcuts in them, so I decided to remove those folders and put the shortcut at the top level. This leaves me with a Mozilla Firefox shortcut which I want to rename to just "Firefox". I can rename it, but no matter what, it just stats under M in the all apps list. I also have 2 other apps with this problem, but I listed Firefox as an example.
2) When I open the start menu (before entering All Apps), I wonder if there is a way to replace "File Explorer" with "My PC" or some other label. I have already changed the behavior of this button to open the "My Computer" screen I am used to. I just want to change the label if possible.

Aug 15, 2015I am unable to access the charms list that was on the right side of the screen it just disappeared it does not work by pointing the mouse cursor at the top right hand corner and I have tried Windows + C but all that does is bring up Cortana. Also I can't find the recycle bin there is not tile for it and it is not on the task bar or Desktop either.
